Ginny Potter néeWeasley knew one day her husband was going to die. Of course, everyone eventually dies, but Ginny knew, deep in her heart, that her husband would not have a natural death.

It was in Harry's nature to save everyone and to run into danger if necessary. Ginny knew that when he rescued her in the chamber, and he continued to do so today as an Auror for the Ministry.

So when Death Eaters attacked Diagon Alley one afternoon when they were going shopping, Ginny knew her husband would fight, and if he was going to fight, she would as well. She wasn't there for him much during the war, but now she would be.

"No!" Harry shouted as people screamed outside.

They were currently hiding in one of the shops, and Harry was ready to fight, but Ginny wanted to fight too. She knew Harry wasn't doubting her abilities but was rather concerned with her safety, especially since they just found out she was pregnant.

However, Ginny couldn't just stand by as people were injured or killed. Just like her husband, Ginny had no problem running into danger to save someone.

"I can fight!" she protested, though she knew her words fell deaf on his ears.

Then again, maybe she couldn't fight as well as she once could. Most of her magic would protect the baby, leaving her little magic to defend herself, and Harry knew that.

Harry's expression softened slightly at her determined look and gently hugged her, pressing a kiss to her forehead. Ginny leaned into his embrace, expecting him to relent, but she should have known he could be as stubborn as her sometimes.

"I'm sorry," he said as Ginny felt herself freeze. "Wait here, I'll be back."

Ginny, frozen in place, could only watch as her husband went out to fight. She cursed at herself for letting her guard down and resigned herself to her fate.

She did not know that those would be Harry's last words to her.

When the battle was finally done, Harry succumbed to a curse a Death Eater shot at him. Ginny would not find out until Hermione found her, tears in her eyes.

Harry, her love, her husband, the father of her child, was dead. And all Ginny had done was sit and wait, when she could have broken free and fought alongside him. Maybe she could have saved him as well.

"He said he would be back," she informed Hermione numbly.

Hermione choked up a little at her words, but Ginny wasn't paying attention to her anymore. She just stared at the street where Harry died and felt numb.

"He said he would be back," she repeated.

As Hermione moved to hug her, Ginny felt nothing and continued to repeat her words, as if they would bring Harry back. But the fact of the matter was that the Death Eaters had killed Harry, and they might as well have killed Ginny, too.

And years later, when her and Harry's child was grown up, she would tell them the same thing.

"He said he would be back."
