I Said Hi
Catra was always known as a loner, the dark mysteries teen that always stuck to herself, only letting a few people into her life. Never truly letting people in to her world, not after what happened last time. No one could keep track of all the bruises or black eyes the small girl had spread across her body each week, everyone to scared to ask.
Eventual Catradora.
Based of off Amy sharks 'I said hi'
Catra Castro was always known as a loner, ever since they were all kids. Always sticking to her self, maybe making an appearance with one or two friends, but as the years went on the mysterious girl stuck to herself, it was better this way, or so she told herself.
Everyone would always be surprised and curious at the amount of bruises, black eyes or broken bones the small girl would turn up with, in the past year this seemed to be a theme with her. Teachers not concerned enough to speak up or puLl her to the side, nothing new there, everyone one seemed to intimidated by the darker girl.
What no one bothered to learn was that Catra was actually training at the boxing ring, learning how to master the art of boxing, sparing 6 our of the 7 days a week, most of her time spent throwing punches in the ring or training her ass off. She had won more matches than she could count, proud at her achievements, surprising anyone that doubted her at the start of her boxing journey, but there she was, the quiet always keeping to her self girl throwing harder punches than most of the men there, making a name for herself in such little time.
Sadly there was a bigger reason as to why the young Castro girl put her body through all the training and fights, she came from a small family, losing her father to cancer at the ripe age of 10, leaving her mother to look and car after her. Catra knew it wasn't easy raising a child on your own, she did what she could to help her in any way she could, working odd jobs here and there to help buy food for the home or even pay smaller bills, anything to make her mother relax just that little. Some weeks were harder than others but Catra was determined to help more than ever now that she was 18, picking up boxing right after she turned 17, turns out fighting in the ring made a lot more money in one night compared to busting her ass all week at a shitty diner.
Winning every fight she's had since she started a year ago you could say the teen was as cocky as ever, that was until she heard about her next opponent, hearing the horrifying stories that followed, people being sent to the emergency room, apparently this girl had a lot more pent up anger than Catra did. Who knew it was had tried to keep her mind of the fight, not letting the childish rumours get to her, deciding to put her all into training as hard as she could as the weeks went by.
—
It was 8am on a Wednesday morning as the young Castro girl pulled into the high school parking lot, adjusting her rear view mirror to look at her fading black eye, breathing in deep as she slides her sunglasses back down, smirking at herself as she slides out of her maroon truck, throwing her backpack over her shoulder as she slams the door closed locking it as she makes her way to the entrance of the school, her heterochromia eyes scanning the parking lot as she strolls closer and closer to the gates, losing herself in thought as she nears the end of the lot, sadly she was rudely pulled from her thought as she was pulled by her leather jacket and slammed into a near by car.
Growling as she registers her attacker, annoyance flashing over her face as she locked eyes with Lonnie, pulling her hand from her jacket roughly as Catra steps forward, nose to nose with the Darker girl.
"Fuck off Lonnie" she snarls, pushing the girl roughly annoyed at the disturbance so early in the morning.
"Oh I'm sorry Catra am I bothering you?" She taunts, stepping into the smaller girls space once again, practically nose to nose as she smuggle smiles down at Catra. Having to take a big breathe as she could hear Lonnies friends cheer her on, making the taller girl beam at her.
"I said" Catra steps even closer, eyes daring Lonnie to make the first move, "fuck off" the words dripping with anger as she snarled again, hoping she would take the hint. Catra was trying her hardest to hold back, trying not to punch this girl senseless like she would if they were in the ring.
The two continued to stare each other down, the. Castro girl glancing to her left as she could hear hurried footsteps coming towards them, breathing out sharply as she recognised the fast moving figure.
"What are you gonna do about it huh?" Lonnie poked her chest roughly, knocking her back a step, "huh" she repeated mockingly, smug smirk still in place, this made the smaller girl grind her teeth, trying to calm herself.
"Lonnie stop!" A soft pleading voice came from the left, Catra had to fight herself not to look in the direction the voice had came from, balling her fists tightly, as she watched the blonde girl appear, gripping onto lonnies arm as she tried to pull the brunette away. Catra now filled with fire smirked at Lonnie, stepping close once again as she saw the blond look between the, pleading eyes flicking between the two girls that were once again nose to nose. She had to shake her thoughts away when she felt her stomach flutter at her slight eye contact with the pleading girl.
"Yea Lonnie, listen to blondie over there" grinning up at her Catra smugly said, "walk away or you'll regret it" poking a finger into lonnies chest, this only ignited a fire in the girls eyes, as she shoved the blonde to the side, making her stumble back as the tall girl took a swing at Catra. The sight of the tall blonde stumbling made her blood boil as she dodged lonnies punch, pulling back as her fist connected with the her jaw, smiling smugly as she watch Lonnie stumble, clutching her jaw in the process, shock now written all over her face.
With in a second Lonnies eyes were staring at her, anger flaming behind them as she charged at Catra.
"You're dead Castro!" She screamed as she pounced towards the smaller girl, fist narrowly missing Catras jaw, in return Catra grabbed the girl, giving her a swift knee to her abdomen. With a smirk Catra stepped closer, as she watched Lonnie kneeling on the ground trying to catch her breath, as Catra went to say something the taller girl took this opportunity to pounce, fist making contact with her cheek, knocking the tanned girl back a few steps.
"Lonnie please!" The blonde girl screamed as she pulled on lonnies arm again, in return Lonnie pushed her away roughly, only having eyes for Catra in the moment, she could see the steam coming from the girls ears. Catra on the other hand didn't see red until she watched the tall blonde get tossed to the side roughly, watching as she scrapped her knee on impact.
With that Catra saw red, fist connecting with Lonnies face as she gripped the girls shirt, she punched her again and again until the brunette mustered enough energy to shove her away causing the smaller girl to fall to the ground.
Looking up in surprise as the taller girl pounced on her, fist finally connecting with Catras cheek, but that was the only one that Catra let her make as she tossed the girl roughly off her, standing as she watched Lonnies two idiot friends run to her side. Spitting the blood from her mouth she laughs down at her, taking a step forward as she towers over the brunette.
"I told you to fuck off" quirking her eyebrow up as she smirked down at her, her sunglasses now back in place as she walks away, shaking her head at the lingering thoughts of the blonde.
'She doesn't care Catra get that through your stupid head' she thinks to herself as she makes her way to the school nurse.
—
When Catra arrived at the nurses office she was met with a smack up the side of her head as nurse Castaspella took a look at her now swollen and cut cheek, a nice bruise now forming along the left side of her face, matching her previous black eye from the other day.
"Can't go one day with out seeing your favourite nurse huh?" She says jokingly as she watches Catra take a seat on the bed, looking at her with guilty eyes. Shaking her head at the younger girl, as she reaches out to inspect her face. "This is the second time this week Catra and it's only Wednesday" she continues to scold the younger girl, laughing lightly as Catra gives her a smile and a shrug.
"I'm sorry I promise I'll try and stay out of the fights" chuckling as Castaspella ruffles Catra curly black hair, both of them laughing harder as the younger girl tries to slap her hand away after a few seconds. Soon falling into conversation as the nurse cleaned up Catras wound, placing butterfly bandaids her her cheek, closing up the small gash.
With a small hug and good bye she was off to class, small wave as she heads out the door.
—
The small raven haired girls day went smoothly after her incident that morning, managing to stay under the radar during classes, lunch was another topic. Being scolded by Scorpia and Entrapta for getting into a fight on school grounds, but also praised for standing up for herself against Lonnie for the hundredth time. Mermista on the other hand was visibly upset at the sight of her best friends new wounds and in her words, 'what monster would want to ruin such a perfect face!'. This made the friend group laugh minus Catra who just shoved her playfully.
School seemed to fly by Catra fast, seeming to be in her own world for most of the day, trying to distract herself from her fight that was coming up really soon.
To Catras surprise the day was over and she was zooming out of class as soon as that final bell had rung, practically sprinting her way out and into the parking lot, only to slow to a stop as she notices the blonde from earlier leaning against her Truck.
As she neared closer and closer she started to nervously pick at her fingers, trying to calm her breathing as she made her way in front of the taller blonde girl, eyebrow raised, signature smirk in place as she tilts her head.
"Hey Catra" the blonde says nervously as she takes in her smug stance, Catra arms were crossed lazily as she looked up at her, in reality she was trying to hold in the blush that was creeping up her neck and the shiver that shot down her spine at the sound of the girls voice.
"Hey Adora" she purred, leaning against her truck, "what are you doing here" pointing to her truck, trying hard not to let her excitement show.
"I just wanted to apologise for this morning" Adora rubbed the back of her neck nervously as she stepped closer to the shorter girl, looking into her eyes, "Lonnie can be an asshole sometimes" this comment made the tanned girl Snort loudly, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Sometimes?" Shaking her head she locks eyes with Adora, smirk taking place once again, "she should t treat such a pretty girl like that" the blonde giggles at her words, pushing hair behind her ear as she tries to hide her very obvious blush, "especially if it's you" Catra steps closer, her words practically purred out towards the taller girl, smiling as she watches the girls eyes widen, blush depending.
Adora beaming now at the compliment and with a sudden forgetfulness she reaches out, pulling Catra closer as she cups her cheek in her hand, running her thumb gently over the smaller girls freshly injured cheek. Catra felt herself start to melt into Adoras hand, quickly snapping out of it as she looks intensely into the blondes eyes.
"Why are you still with her Adora" the blondes eyes flick down quickly, avoiding Catras multicoloured eyes, taking Adoras hand in hers she steps closer, using her other hand to direct the blondes face back up to the shorter girls gaze, "we both know you deserve better".
The raven haired girl sighs at the words that just left her own mouth, moving to open the passenger side door beside them, jerking her head in that directing as she musters up a smile, as she looks towards Adora. Her sad eyes meeting Catras, looking at her quizzically.
"Need a lift home?" Smiling softly once again at Adora, knowing full well the girl couldn't drive for the life of her, the blonde nods shyly as she makes her way into the truck, a small thank you muttered as Catra closed the door behind her. Making her way to the other side of the car before making her way out of the car park and in the direction of their homes.
I hope you guys enjoyed!
