The Legend of Zelda OcarinaA Of Time: Twist of Fate: The Original
So, There are some days being me is awkward. Apparently, the day all of this started, was one of those days. Well, actually, I suppose it started years ago, when my mother left me in the Kokiri Forest, And she forgot to inform the Great Deku tree that I was really a girl... My name is Linkette, and I guess this is my story. But little did I know... that my life would soon be changed forever.
The Girl Without A Fairy
I had that dream again, the one with the girl in pink... and the man with evil eyes. And the storm, it was always raining in this dream. I sat up with a start, sweat having soaked my blankets. I have been having Nightmares for a few months now, Sometimes they would get so bad that I would wake up screaming. With an annoyed sigh I lied back down trying to calm my breathing and my racing heart, when a blue light suddenly blinded my eyes. It wasn't just any light, it was a fairy, and she was grinning at me, "Link, wake up! The Deku Tree wants to talk with you! Your such a lazy boy! The world is supposed to depend on you?" I yelped in surprise as I fell off my bed, I untangled myself from my blankets as I glared up at the annoying fairy. "You finally woke up! I'm Navi the fairy! The Great Deku Tree asked me to be your partner from now on! Nice to meet you!"
"I'm a girl," I mumbled under my breath, as I was brushing my hair the fairy spoke up not even noticing that I had spoken. "The Great Deku Tree has summoned you! So let's get going, right now." I sigh as I stand up, then I head to my balcony. "Impatient fairy!" I thought as I breathed in the fresh air.
"Yoohoo! Linkette!" I looked over the edge to see my best friend, Saria, running down the path to my tree. I grinned and waved back before sliding down my ladder to the ground. Racing up I hugged the other girl tightly as Navi flew above my head. "Wow! A fairy! finally, a fairy came to you. Linkette!" Saria exclaimed excitedly. "Wow! That's great news! I'm so happy for you! Now you're a true Kokiri, Linkette!"
I liked Saria. She and the skull kids were the only ones to call me by my real name. I opened my mouth to start saying something, but Navi spoke up impatiently, "Come on Link the Great Deku Tree wants to speak with you, so hurry up already!" She then hit me on the head by bumping into it as I glared at my fairy. After my fairy spoke Saria's eyes widened in shock as she exclaimed, "Is that right? The Great Deku Tree has summoned you? It's quite an Honor to talk to the Great Deku Tree! I'll wait for you here. Get going! Go see the Great Deku Tree!" Saria said. I sighed once more as I started my trek to the Great Deku Tree's meadow.
As I walked I approached another Kokiri Girl, who smiled widely at me when she caught sight of my fairy. "Wow! Link! You've got a fairy now! That great! Oh and Fado was looking for you." She pointed up to a plank bridge, I sighed as I headed to talk with Fado. When I finally reached the top, I was greeted by a grinning Fado.
"Hee Hee Hee! You came all the way up here? You're a real man!" I sighed once more, but before I could reply Navi pulled on my hair. "Ouch! Navi! Don't do that." I snapped in irritation as I glared up at her. "Come on Link! you're waisting time! Lets go see the Great Deku Tree!" I sighed as I waved goodbye to Fado. Fado grinned and she waved back as I walked back down the small wood bridge. I now had to go see Mido... He calls himself the boss of the Kokiri! But he's not the boss... Saria is the real boss of the Kokiri, and I'm her second in command.
Speaking of Mido, he was doing his usual guarding of the Great Deku Tree's meadow. I sigh as I trudged accross the clearing and I stood in front of him. "Mido, move." I said with my arms crossed, he put his hands on his hips as he sneered at me. "Hay, Mr. No Fairy! What's your business with the Great Deku Tree? Without a Fairy, you're not even a real man!" He glared at me, as he crossed his arms over his chest. I was going to tell him once again that I wasn't a boy, but Navi came out from behind my head. "What? You've got a fairy?"
"Yes Mido, Link has a fairy." She replied mimicking his pose in midair, as she continued, "And the Great Deku Tree summoned him. So move!" Mido just blinked at my fairy for a few minutes as he opened his mouth to speak but no words came out.
By this point Mido was gaping in shock, his mouth opening and closing like a fish. "WHAAAAAAAT? Why would he summon you, and not the great Mido? This isn't funny..." He looked like he would go off and sulk and give me a chance to slip passed him into the meadow. But noooo, he just shook his head and stomped his feet on the ground a few times. I don't believe it! You aren't even fully equipped yet! How do you think you're going to help the Great Deku tree without both a sword and shield ready?"
I crossed my arms over my chest and with a raised eyebrow I gave him an, Are you kidding me? Look as I walked away pouting. I grumbled under my breath as I walked back to Saria. "Mido won't let me see the Great Deku Tree..." I pulled my hair in frustration as I pouted.
"What? Mido won't let you see the Great Deku Tree?" She pouted in the direction of the Deku Tree's meadow. Then she sighed as she turned back to me, "Ohh... that bum! I don't know why he's always so mean to everyone!" Saria sighed as she turned back to me, a smile on her face again. She was always smiling when she was talking with me. "What he said is true though." I inwardly sighed, not her to, "The forest... strange things have been happening here lately... You need to be ready for anything. You better find a weapon! You can by a shield at the shop, but there is only one sword hidden somewhere in the forest."
One more sigh. "Okay, I'll talk to you when I get back Saria." I said, as I went to look for the sword. I looked up at my fairy as I spoke up, "Hay Navi? Do you have any idea where the sword might be?" I asked as Navi just shrugged, I sighed once more as I continued looking for the sword. And on the way I collected rupees.
Once I finally found the Kokiri sword, I crawled out of the whole covered in dust. I sighed in irritation as I dusted myself off. Then I walked to the shop where I could get a Deku shield. I was hoping that I had enough rupees, I collected a few more just to be safe.
As I walked to the entrance of the meadow, I was stopped by Mido once again. I polled my sword and shield from my back as Mido spluttered. "What you have a sword and shield?" Mido squawked in surprise his arms crossed over his chest as he spoke. I smirked as I responded with my best sassy attitude, "Well Mido if you say I need a sword and shield... then why don't you have yours? Can you answer that?" I said with an impish grin on my face, as I narrowed my eyes. My question had him spluttering like a fish once again. "Shoot, how did you get to be the favorite of Saria and the Great Deku Tree? Huh? Grumble... grumble..."
While Mido was pouting I was able to slip passed him. As I walked down the path that led to the Great Deku tree, I ran into some very angry Deku Babas. I quickly slashed them down as I continued onwards. When we finally arrived in the glade, Navi shouted up to the tree. "Great Deku Tree... I'm back!" I jumped in surprise, I could here her voice echo from where I stood at the base of the tree. "Oh... Navi... thou hast returned..." he said, as my fairy landed to rest on my shoulder.
"Link... welcome... now listen carefully to the words that I, The Great Deku Tree hast to tell thee..." I obeyed as I sat with my feet tucked underneath me, as I clasped my hands together modestly in my lap. I Quietly listened to what the Great Deku Tree had to say.
"Link... we need to hurry!" My fairy said as she buzzed around my head. I gulped nervously as I entered inside the Great Deku Tree. Once I entered I looked around in compleat aw, "Wow! Navi the Great Deku Tree is way bigger then I thought it would be!" Navi pulled my hair as she yelled at me. "Link! Focus... we need to save the Great Deku Tree so stop staring and get moving!" I glared at the fairy as I continued onwards.
As we continued through the inside of the tree we eventually came to a room with three Deku scrubs that tried to hit me with Deku Nuts. After deflecting the Deku Nuts, I was able to enter the boss room. I gulped as I entered the dark and creepy room, and to my horror the boss was the biggest spider that I had ever scene. But what made me freeze in place was the fat that it only had one eye. Navi pulled my hair to get my attention as I reluctantly turned to the boss, I learned that it's name was Queen Gohma. I jumped back with a yelp as Gohma jumped down from the ceiling.
Well, I won't tell you how it ended, But I knew that I would need a bath after all that fighting. "Come on Link, lets get out of here!" Navi said, flying in front of my face. I nodded in agreement as Navi showed me to a door on the opposite side of the room, I opened it, and as the fresh air blew on my face I relaxed.Navi and I were given the Kokiri's Emerald and we were told to head to the castle because we needed to find the princess of destiny. I sighed sadly as I gave one last teary glance up at the dying tree, then I ran out of the meadow my hair covering my eyes.
Mido stood before the tree, the other Kokiri spread out behind him, the girls were crying holding each other. The boys all looked angry, carrying Deku sticks and rocks as they crowded around the entrance. Saria was no where to be seen. "Mido what's going on?" I asked stepping towards him, looking around at the others. "What happened?" The expression on Mido's face should have told me everything. "Link, you killed the Great Deku Tree." I blinked at his accusation as I replied, my voice shaky. "B-but he w-was already dying from his curse!" My voice cracked with every angry or disappointed look I received. My friends, all of the Kokiri I thought had my back, they turned their faces from my gaze. "Is there anyone who would speak for link and stand up for him?" Mido asked, but Silence was his only answer. His eyes were so cold when he looked back at me. "Everyone sees you for what you are, Link, a monster and an outsider." At those painful words I took one step backwards, before I gave the other Kokiri one last sad glance, then I ran out of the glade, tears blurring my vision as I continued running. 'Why do they always take Mido's side?' I thought to myself, with a bit of anger and annoyance.
