It was a cool, sunny day in King's Canyon. The aftermath of Loba's adventure could still be seen. The hum of the engine of the dropship droned out in the background. Over the ship's loudspeaker, a pre-recorded female voice announced that "The Apex games are starting soon. All legends must gear up and prepare for drop". It wasn't long before the teams were chosen and their banners displayed on the large, flat screens.

Everyone started checking their gears and weapons, making sure their special abilities work, giving each other shit in both playful and serious ways. While in the background, bold blue letters ran across the trim below the ceiling stating that today's games would be duos only.

In one corner of the ship, Bangalore was looking over her smoke launcher and canisters, making sure they were in proper working order. Her time in the military taught her not to just go off assumptions, even though she knows her equipment inside and out. She peaked a glance back up at the banners and the face next to hers. She gave a slight smirk to herself, and feeling contempt with her inspections, she made her way towards the middle of the ship on the opposite side.

When she arrived she realized there was a crowed staring at some thing or some one. "You son of a bitch!" she heard from the group. "I'll kill you, demonio!"

"Aww, still upset about your mommy and daddy?" A deep, synthed, male voice asked tauntingly.

"Keep your mouth shut about them or I'll shut it for you!" Angerly said, rage burning in her eyes.

The lanky, red simulacrum grew an invisible smile, both from contempt with striking a nerve and with the opening to strike another. "Just like I shut your parents up?"

"Aaarrrgh!" The woman charges at him, rage filling her eyes and actions. She expands her staff, uses it to polevault a short distance, and slams herself down onto his chest, the point at the end of her staff pointed at his throat. "I don't care if you're not real," she snapped, "You feel pain, and I'm going to enjoy this!"

Before Loba could do anything, Bangalore jumps on her and pulls her off Revenant. As she does, Revenant takes this opportunity to stand to his feet and attempts to retaliate. Bangalore just stands between them, her palms and arms stretched out and holding the two back from each other.

"Stand back!" Loba demanded. "We both know he's not real. But killing this 'thing' will be real enough to me!"

"But you know the rules. No killing before or after the games. Real or not, he's still a competitor."

"That's right Loba. Listen to your master like the dog you are." Revenant's invisible grin grew more twisted and crooked with that comment.

Bangalore swung back around quickly, landed a well placed punch across the simulacrum's face, bringing him to his knees. "I said you couldn't kill, not injure." She turns back around, bringing the other woman to the center of her view. "Hey, you okay, girl?"

She huffs loudly. "Yeah." She says, retracting her staff. "You're right. It'll feel much better killing him with a gun in my hand."

"And we'll take him together." She motions to one of the banners. "It you and me this drop."

Loba gives a coy smile, slipping on her bracelet and holstering her staff.

"Attention all Legends: The Apex Games will start soon. All Legends must make their way to their respective drop pads. Repeat: [...]"

"Shall we?" She offers.

"Lead the way, beautiful." Bangalore smiles back, walking with her to the stands. "Hey, let me know when you want to make a move. We'll show 'em who's boss." She says flirtingly, giving her a playful wink.
