"So you're the famed Honorary Knight of the Knights of Favonius? How interesting. I'm Eula Lawrence. Yes, I'm a member of that Lawrence family. Though, I do suppose that wouldn't have much meaning for you anyway. Pleased to make your acquaintance."
An angel held her hand out toward him. Her hair was light blue, like the sky on that day, and her eyes were a clear topaz, much like the sun itself. He was almost surprised he didn't see a halo on top of her head. Well, he wasn't sure if angels had blue hair or not—the closest thing he knew was his sister, and she had yellow hair like his. But he also didn't really care. He was absolutely certain that the person in front of him was an angel.
"…er! Hey, listen!" He snapped out of his trance upon being smacked by Paimon. While listening to it give him an earful about how rude he was for leaving a lady hanging or something, he turned sheepishly toward Eula before smiling weakly. Meekly managing to stammer out his name, he awkwardly shook her hand. Her skin was cool to the touch, and there was something elegant about the way she shook his hand. Eula Lawrence… a name he'd have to engrave into his memory.

How did he even end up in this situation, anyway?
Just a few moments ago, he was finishing up a delivery for Sara from Good Hunter, while bringing back some dandelion seeds for a commission. He heard someone calling for him when he was entering the gates of Mondstadt. When he turned to see who it might be, a cool, pristine beauty stood in front of him. And then he fell into a kind of daze, captivated by the person in front of him.
Which… resulted in the situation at hand. Here he was, being dragged along to a tea party somewhere, Acting Grandmaster Jean in tow, with Paimon, ever the slave to food, having been successfully baited by the mention of accompanying sweets.
And now, they were under the grand oak tree to the south of Mondstadt. Three figures seated around a circular white table which had been prepared in advance, almost as if it had been anticipating their arrival. Jean sat on one side, seeming to enjoy her brief respite, slowly sipping her tea in between sighs of contentment with her eyes closed. On the other side was Eula, observing him quietly, holding her teacup midair without even the slightest movement. A bottomless stomach of a creature sat on the table, nibbling away on some teacakes to the side. Which left the last member of the tea party, Aether. There, just sitting awkwardly, too nervous and charmed to touch any of the refreshments. Fortunately for him though, it didn't seem that Jean or Paimon noticed that anything was off, each too engrossed in their respective pursuits.

"…So, tell me more about Stormterror. How big was he up close? I heard about all the damage he caused from my subordinates. I would've loved to get a closer look myself, but unfortunately, I was on an assignment outside of Mondstadt," inquired Eula.
"Um… He was a large blue dragon. Maybe a few stories tall? Six feathery wings, capable of sending out a lot of balls of wind as attacks? He could make platforms crumble, and he had a few weak spots on his back…"
"He had weak spots… on his back?" Eula made a puzzled face.
"Uhh… sort of?" He looked to his companions for backup. Paimon and Jean were there at the final fight against Stormterror, so they would be able to help elaborate for sure! To his dismay, Paimon was comatose on the table, clutching its bulging stomach, while Jean was hunched over the table, presumably taking an afternoon siesta.
Eula stared into his eyes for a bit to ascertain the story's veracity before leaning into the table, deep in thought. He took this chance to take a good look at her. Her skin looked so soft… her hair was perfect, with the accessory in her hair complementing her hairstyle… her lips were a beautiful shade of soft pink, absolutely delectable… and her eyes were perfect… but… beneath her calm demeanor, under those furrowed eyebrows… he was able to get a glimpse of a pained past, wrought with suffering…

The crash of lightning could be heard in the distance as freezing rain poured down upon Aether and Eula. Though the two of them had originally set off on a quick reconnaissance mission to Dragonspine, they had ended up being ambushed.
"Keekee, these buffoons fell right into our trap!" exclaimed the Abyss mages, dancing in glee inside their spherical elemental barriers.
Seeing that they were surrounded by a horde of Abyss monsters, Eula and Aether stood back to back, drawing their swords as they faced this life or death situation together.
"Go with the wind!" yelled Aether, as he used his anemo skill to spread the elements, setting up for a follow-up attack from Eula.
"Freeze to the core!" shouted Eula, using her cryo skill to freeze the enemies surrounding them.
This teamwork granted them a moment's respite, allowing them to regroup and head towards the gorge they came from. Though they rushed to the entrance while dashing to dodge the enemies' ranged attacks, the enemy Abyss mages were skilled adversaries. Teleporting in front of the pair, they started to chant their arcane magic while chuckling.
"Kekekeke!" was all they could hear as icicles dropped on them, bubbles chased after them, and heads of demons spewed fire around them. The two dodged instinctively, both of them having dealt with plenty of Abyss mages in the past. However, this split the two of them up, isolating them in an assortment of hilichurl enemies, with a pair of abyss mages backing them up.
"To dust!" Aether yelled, as he created shockwaves to separate himself from his enemies with a wall of stone. Dashing to escape the group, he dropped several meteorites on enemies that were attempting to close the gap. From what he could see up ahead, Eula was being forced into a corner, kept busy parrying attacks and dancing to avoid the ones she couldn't parry. Aether used his anemo skill to break through the formation by blowing some of the enemies away, frantically sprinting to her aid.
"Eula! Over here!" Aether yelled, felling several hilichurl berserkers in the way as he waved his sword in the air, in hopes that she would see it. Eula, noticing the gap in the enemy's defenses, nodded as she ran to his direction. At that moment, several thickets of thorny vines erupted from the ground, as the result of the chanting of several dendro samachurls. Aether dashed back to avoid the damage, and Eula did the same, separating the two once more.
Aether hacked and slashed at the vines to clear them away, as Eula turned back to block arrows that were shot from hilichurl archers. Once Aether had finished cutting through, Eula made a break for it, rushing over to his side. Though Aether was dropping meteorites on the frostarm lawachurls that were in pursuit to break through their frost armor, he wasn't able to stop the two mitachurls that were flanking Eula from both sides.
He felt his body moving before he was even conscious of what he was doing. He jumped forward to push Eula out of the way of the pincer attack while shouting out a warning as an afterthought, parrying a hit from one of the mitachurls and being blown away by the impact of the hit straight into the other mitachurl's swing.
Feeling his body burning up, he felt his vision going blurry as his body did acrobatics he never knew he was capable of while flying through the air. Out of the corner of his eye, he thought he saw someone who looked like that bastard of a cavalry captain and a blazing phoenix flying in his direction. A glowing figure in white caught his body, and it seemed that someone was frantically calling his name. Lumine? No, there was no way it would be her. Turning slowly to look at who it was, he saw Eula's panicked face and gave her a feeble smile before the world faded to black.

Bright…
Way too bright.
There were some blurry, yellow orbs in front of him that felt blinding to him, so he turned on his side to avoid them. Raising his arms to shield his eyes from the excessive brightness, he groaned while jerking his arms back in pain.
"Ugh… It… hurts…" muttered Aether.
"Traveler! Are you alright?!"
Aether turned to face the loud exclamation to find… Eula, grasping his hand firmly with both of her hands.
"You're awake! Thanks be to the anemo archon…" Eula breathed a sigh of relief, before pressing her forehead against his hand.
"How am I supposed to take my revenge on you if you go and kick the bucket by yourself!" she exclaimed, looking genuinely upset. "Really, why would you go that far to protect someone from a disgraced family, like me!"
"C-Calm down, Eula… it hurts…" wheezed Aether.
She continued to hold his hands tightly.
"It's just a scratch. Really, don't worry…" said Aether.
"Traveler… Oh, Traveler…"

One evening, a few days later, Eula invited Aether to go look at the moon with her, under the cliffs of Falcon Coast.
"The moon is always working tirelessly… It does its best to light up the sky, despite being outdone by the sun during the day."
"The moon is ostracized to shine only during the night… It's so wretched… but that's also why I find solace in its struggle."
"Just like the moon, I wanted to do my best when nobody was watching."
"Just like the moon, I wanted to extend my hand to the forlorn—for, if not me, then who would?"
She reached her arm toward the sky and gripped her fist tightly.
Her beautiful face was illuminated under the moonlight. And just for a moment, he glimpsed the faint outline of a smile.
He made up his mind to support her along her path, no matter what struggles she might face in the future.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining bright, warmth radiating through the air, and a cool breeze blowing in the shade.
Eula had called Aether out to the massive oak tree at Windrise, and they were standing behind the Statue of the Seven.
"Traveler, I'm so glad that you came!"
"You see, one day, I might have to fulfil my duty as a member of the noble house of Lawrence…"
"Once upon a time, I swore revenge… I swore revenge upon those that looked down upon me… and I also swore revenge against those that were responsible for leaving me to this miserable fate."
"I swore upon this tree… that I would carry out my revenge."
"And that is why I will swear on this tree once again… I will carry out my revenge on all of those people. And, well. I've decided, that you will be my accomplice."
Eula smiled as she looked straight into his eyes, with an expression that seemed to convey that she had found peace within herself.
"I will take revenge by being successful… and enjoying my life to the fullest! Perhaps that will require me to take down my own house. If that is the case, then I will gladly do so. It is part of my duties as a Lawrence, after all. Though I'm not sure what I'll do afterward… Maybe I'll go on a journey, under a new name."
Aether had to interject. He knew that he'd never forgive himself if he didn't speak at this moment.
"If that time comes… You can come with me. Forget your past. Just travel across Teyvat with me, by my side."
Eula gave him a look of bated surprise.
"Even though I'm a Lawrence? Well… Then, maybe, you can give me a new name to replace it with?"
Aether simply smiled, and reached his hand out toward her.
