Carla Jeager is in the living room, with Eren Jeager, her son, who is currently bouncing his knee up and down from the couch
"When are they going to get here?"
Carla smiles softly at the boy, before answering- "Give them time, they said they left around 25 minutes ago, they should be here in a short while"
Eren just watches the clock in the wall, wishing it would go faster. Come on, clock! Go faster!
A knock on the door interrupts the thoughts of the boy, making his head turn around and a gigantic smile appear on his face, while Carla gets up to open the door.
"Hello Levi! Please come on in! How are you?"
"I'm doing good Mrs Jeager - how are things with you? Is the brat behaving alright?" Levi asks, shooting a smirk at the brunette. Carla laughs at the question, raising an eybrow "Who, Eren? You've known him long enough to know the answer to that question yourself!"
Eren isn't paying attention at the adults, instead focusing on a figure behind Levi. Finally!
"Mikasa! You're here!". The girl gets around the man, going to hug her best friend.
"You'd think they didn't see each other for years. It was only a 2 weeks vacation after all!" Levi comments on the 2 kids, who are still hugging, both turning their heads to glare at the shorter adult, who replies with scrunching up his face.
Carla can only shake her head at the scene. She knows just how much those kids mean to each other - after all, they've been inseparable ever since they met each other 5 years ago. Mikasa, being a new student, had faced some problems with bullies who picked on her due to her different lineage, and Eren made it his mission to console the kid every time, which was an easy tasks, seeing as they had almost every class together. Over the years, that relationship began to grow and grow, until it reached the point where if those two didn't hear each other for more than half a day, it would've been because either they had fought or Eren was grounded.
Eren drags Mikasa towards his room, to talk about who knows what, signaling to the adults they entered his room with a loud slam of the door.
"Still as subtle as ever, I hear" Levi laughs
"Don't mind him! Thanks again for bringing her here, Levi! Is there anything I can offer you? Some water?"
"Don't worry Mrs Jeager I'm fine! I should probably go now, I have a date with Petra, and I don't want her to wait for long! Thanks anyways! Can I warn Mikasa from the bottom of the stairs? I don't want to bother the two brats", he asks, making his way towards the staircase.
"Go ahead, you don't have to ask permission every time"
"Mik, I'm going now - be nice and don't forget I have some grounding powers as your older brother, so don't bother Mrs Jeager with any stupid requests!"
"Levi! She's never done anything to bother me! She's the sweetest girl any brother could ask for!"
"Then you don't know her like I do - I'll be back to get her by evening. See you!"
"Bye Levi! Say hi to Petra for me!"
"So Mik, what do you want to do now? Watch TV or go outside and play?"
"I thought we agreed to do homework for once, Eren - and it's for tomorrow too. Come on, the sooner we finish, the sooner we can play!"
Eren pouts, and gives the girl his best puppy eyes impression : "But homework isn't fuuun. I haven't seen you in 2 weeks and all you think to do first thing is homework? You're no fun!"
The girl giggles at the pouting boy, who puts even more effort in creating the best puppy eyes.
"That may have worked on me when I was 9, but now we're 14 - you have to step it up a notch if you want to catch me off guard"
Eren raises an eyebrow, an idea brewing in his head : "You're still ticklish, aren't you, Mik?". All laughter stopped immediately from the raven, eyes widening, looking as scared as she could ever be "Don't you dare Eren! I will go down fighting!". The brunette advances slowly, assuming a 4 legged pose, pretending to be a predator circling their prey. "So here's the deal, Mikasa - we play, and I don't tickle you, how about it? Seems like a good idea to me"
Putting a finger up to her chin, the girl tilts her head, pretending to think hard about the situation - she shoots an evil glare to Eren, and continues thinking.
"That's only if you can manage to subdue me, little man", Mikasa declares, knowing full well that Eren would want to be taller than what he actually is
"Oh, that's it! Come here and fight!"
Carla, hearing the laughter coming from the boy's room, can only smile, happy that her son found a best friend - and who knows, maybe they'll grow into something more!
Eren and Mikasa, after a long and strenuous play fight, decided to settle on watching tv, since Eren still didn't want to do homework and Mikasa got tired from defending herself from Eren's tickle attacks.
"We really should be studying though - we haven't done anything!"
The brunette knows that his friend is right, so he relentes - "At the next commercial break we stop watching tv and start out homework, how about that?"
As if on command, the program they were watching went on their break, causing Eren to gape at the screen and Mikasa to laugh at the boy's expression
"Seems like we're doing homework - sorry Eren!"
After another failed attempt at convincing the girl to not do homework, both kids pulled out their notebooks , even Mikasa having to admit that, yeah, the atmosphere became less fun immediately.
"Mik? Now it's time to go, come on say your goodbyes and let's go!"
The duo, descending from Eren's room, talking as if they will not see each other the next day, stood at the front door, where they can see Levi talking with Carla
"The brats finally came, uh? Had a nice day together? Come on Mik, let's go"
Mikasa immediately hugs her friend, and then turns towards Levi "Eren said that I could spend the night, if Mrs Jeager said yes", she says, while shooting a glance at Carla.
"You know that you're always welcome here, Mikasa - if Levi is ok with it then it's no problem!"
All eyes on him, Levi just barely stifles a laugh "You'll see each other tomorrow - now you have to go home and prepare your items for tomorrow, and also unpack your bags. Sorry, but we have to go home"
"It's not fair though! You're staying at Petra's place all the time!" Mikasa, disappointed with the result, almost hits Levi with her elbow, who immediately catches it and push it out of contact.
"Yeah, and when you'll be older you will be able to do that too, but for now, I'm exercising my authority as your big brother and telling you that we have to go home - thanks again Mrs Jeager!"
"Bye Mika, we'll see each other tomorrow, ok?", the brunette says while continuing the hug
Both kids eventually let go of each other, and with a bittersweet smile on her face, Mikasa grabs her brother's hand and exist the door "Bye Mrs Jeager! Thanks for the hospitality! Bye Eren! See you"
