Chapter 1: Origins.

The two scientists inspected the two space pods closely. They were inside a laboratory with a control panel next to them and the two space pods were located in front of them. Malaka, who was a reptilian alien with green skin and an orange mohawk sighed and said "I still don't get it. We usually send one Saiyan child to a planet, why is this case different?"

Planthorr, who was old and more humanoid looking, albeit for some pointy ears, pointed to a female Saiyan child inside one of the pods and said "That one is worrying King Vegeta. Apparently, she's got a power level that could rival the prince's! The king wanted to banish her to some faraway planet called Earth, but due to the fact that the planet is actually quite decent, and might sell well on the galactic market, her twin brother is being sent with her, to keep her in check and stop her from destroying it too much, just in case that power of hers causes her to go crazy and start destroying things."

"I see…" Malaka inspected the two babies who were in different space pods. "They hardly look alike. Are you certain that they're twins?" His colleague shrugged as he wrote on some papers. "Positive. Says right here that they're both the children of that low-class warrior Bardock. Not sure why they look so different though. Perhaps somebody in the relationship was unfaithful?"

It was now Malaka's turn to shrug. "I have no idea, but I find that highly unlikely. Saiyans may be brutes, but they seem to be very faithful to their loved ones." He then turned to a control panel and inputted some commands. "However, before we send them off, I feel like we should do one more thing."

Planthorr raised an eyebrow as Malaka began to use his long claw-like nails to crudely scratch something on the pods. "What are you doing?" he asked. Malaka then took a step back and said "I wrote their names on the pods. The girl's pod is special because it can regulate the amount of power of the person inside. This is to avoid her power accidentally going haywire. All Saiyan children have random outbursts, and I just know that this one's will be deadly. We don't want her accidentally blowing up her pod in the middle of space! Furthermore, if they ever decide to return to Planet Vegeta, they'll know who's pod is who's."

Planthorr nodded. "That makes sense." He proceeded to press a few buttons on the control panel. The screen located directly above it began to glow green and the roof began to slowly shift to the side, and after a few moments, the sky was completely visible. The two space pods began to shake uncontrollably and emitted a deafening sound which didn't really affect the scientists since they were used to things like this. Then, the pods rocketed into the sky, and after a few seconds, they were gone.

"What were their names again?" Planthorr asked. "I forgot to write them down on the documents..."

"Kale and Kakarot," Malaka replied. "Those are their names."

As the two space pods zoomed away from Planet Vegeta, up in space, unbeknownst to everyone on the planet, a confrontation that would decide the fates of millions was taking place.

"Everything changes now, Frieza! The fate of Planet Vegeta, the fates of Kale and Kakarot, as well as your fate!" Bardock yelled. He had black hair, three bangs in the front and two in the back. A green scouter, a red, blood-soaked bandanna, and a huge scar were all features that could be found on his face. He wore dark blue and green battle armor and his Saiyan tail was wrapped around his waist like a belt. Battered and bruised, the Saiyan began to charge an energy blast in his hand.

"THIS IS THE END!" he yelled as he threw the blast at the ship in front of him.

An alien creature in purple battle armor sat on a hoverchair on top of the ship. His finger was raised, and a tiny ball of energy was present above it. His serious expression soon lightened, and he began to laugh hysterically. The ball of energy grew larger and larger. It was a bright yellow color that resembled a sun. The Saiyan's blast simply got absorbed into the ball of energy.

"What?!" Bardock exclaimed.

His foe's energy blast continued to grow larger and larger. Then, the evil emperor simply pointed his finger forward and the ball was launched toward the Saiyan, the army of soldiers behind him, and the Planet behind them.

The Saiyan was frozen in fear with his mouth wide open. He could feel the heat of the attack. It was truly devastating. Screams could be heard from the army of soldiers behind him. "Lord Frieza! We're still here!" they called out. Of course, nobody responded.

The ball absorbed the Saiyan, as well as the army. Bardock's armor slowly began to disintegrate and break off from his body. He accepted his fate. He tried to make a difference but failed miserably. His entire race was doomed to be destroyed and forgotten, and its killer, Frieza, was going to continue destroying and conquering countless worlds.

However, just then, he had a vision.

He saw a green-haired girl shouting, causing earthquakes with her willpower alone. After that, he saw a young man who resembled him quite a bit staring down against the tyrant himself, Frieza. Although there was nothing in these visions that actually stated that these two were his children, deep down, he knew who they were. He could just tell.

The Saiyan's frown turned into a smile as he himself began to disintegrate.

"KAKAROOOOT!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as he died.

The ball of energy continued to fly towards the planet, and once it collided with it, it immediately destroyed it, killing millions of innocent people in the process.

"HAHAHAHAHA! Zarbon! Dodoria! Isn't this wonderful?!" the evil tyrant asked, addressing his two right-hand men who were standing right behind him.

"Y-Yeah…." Dodoria said, wide-eyed.

Zarbon moved some hair out of his face and had a similar reaction. "I-Indeed…" he said.

Frieza continued to laugh maniacally as pieces of debris slowly drifted away from the planet. There were no signs whatsoever that there was life on the "planet" since everybody, including countless Frieza-Force soldiers, had been reduced to atoms. Little did Frieza know, however, this single event would come back to haunt him a few decades from now…

Gohan was taking his daily walk in the forest. The old man wore a Chinese Martial Arts uniform and a green hat. His age was apparent as he had a long white mustache and wrinkles covered his face. He didn't have children, or anyone in his life for that matter, but he was happy.

He hummed a little tune to himself as he walked, taking in the beautiful environment of Mount Paozu. The nature there never ceased to amaze him. It was almost as if it got more and more beautiful every time he saw it!

Suddenly, he heard an extremely loud "CRASH!" which rocked the ground around him. He then saw animals running in his direction. They seemed to be running away from something. He looked up at the sky and saw a large column of smoke.

"I wonder what that could be?..." he muttered as he walked towards what he thought to be the source.

After a few minutes of walking, he finally found what was causing all of the fuss. There was an enormous crater in the ground. He looked inside and, to his surprise, saw two metallic spheres. They were like nothing he had ever seen before! They each had a baby inside, and they were crying very loudly.

"What do we have here?" he asked as he slid down the crater and towards his strange discovery.

He picked up the two babies and asked "I wonder where your parents could be?..."

The two children looked VERY different. The boy's skin was lighter while the girl's was darker. The boy had messy hair while the girl had neat hair. But there was something about these children that convinced him that they were brother and sister. They both had a certain look in their eyes. A look of determination, strength, and courage.

Atleast, he tried to convince himself that was the reason that he assumed they were siblings. The real reason was because they both had tails.

"Well, I suppose I could take you in until I can find where your parents are. But what should I call you two?..." he muttered.

He looked at the two spheres and noticed the word "Kale" scratched on one and "Kakarot" scratched on the other.

"Kale and Kakarot…I suppose I'll call you that for now. Do you like those names? Do you?" he asked as he walked towards his home with the babies in his arms, leaving the enormous crater behind.

The two babies began to giggle at the mention of their names. "I suppose that's what I'll be calling you, then," Gohan said with a warm smile.

The boy, Kakarot, then grabbed his mustache and yanked it, finding much pleasure in doing so. The girl, Kale, on the other hand, was pulling at his shirt.

"Hehe, you two are pretty destructive, huh? And you're strong, too. Well, I AM a Martial Artist, so I suppose I can teach you what I know. And as for what you can call me…You can call me Grandpa Gohan," the old man said to the two babies in his arms.

They, of course, didn't really understand him and began to attack his body harder, causing him to chuckle.

"Let's go home," he said happily.

A/N: So that concludes the first chapter of Kale and Kakarot. I haven't decided on a schedule yet, but I'll try to update weekly. Thanks for reading!
