Aurelius stared up at his cracked ceiling of his bedroom, hearing the wind whistle through the large hog's head that was strung up next to his slit of a window. Grunting, he flipped onto his front and ran his hand through his hair. Surely, it must be soon. Soon the owl would flutter in and deliver the letter that Aurelius had been waiting for. Click, click, click, click, the constant ticks of the clock in the room, reminded Aurelius of the looming arrival even more. He slammed his hand onto his bed and swore.

'Hey!' a voice shouted from downstairs, 'I will not tolerate that language right now!' Slowly Aurelius heard a man coming up the steps slowly, he turned to the door of his small room and watched as Aberforth Dumbledore walked through it. 'Come on now, Aurelius, it will arrive soon.'

'But Dad' Aurelius said looking back up into his father's face. 'What if. It doesn't come. I grow up and… and… I'm just the bartender at the Hogs Head, who can't do magic.' Aberforth chuckled.

'Don't you worry son; I've heard there's a much more important way of initiation for the nephew of the greatest headmaster Hogwarts has ever seen.' Aurelius sank into the springs of his bed, with a mixture of relief and fright on his face. 'You just wait' Aberforth left with a little wink at his son.

Aurelius had dreamt of this moment for years, he watched as swarms of students came down from the school every month. He watched this through his slit of a window above the Hog's Head, counting down the days until his first arrival at the school. All of these years he was forced into secrecy, of showing his face to anyone. Albus didn't wants anyone knowing of him until his first year, for his own safety and happiness. Don't let this trick you into thinking he hadn't tried. Every plot to try and go out, and visit the village in the dead of night, was squandered by the numerous enchantments and force fields placed on the house on his birth. It was so unfair. He didn't understand it.

Suddenly, Aurelius heard a brisk knock on the door. Of his room, Aurelius sat bolt upright. Rooted into his seat. 'Come in' he called out, his voice wavering more than he thought it would have. The door swung open. In the door frame was a thin, sharp faced woman, who Aurelius knew by face. She smiled down at him and in a sharp, strict, Scottish accent spoke. 'Aurelius Dumbledore, I remember' she then smiled. Aurelius grinned back, relief flooding from him. Headmaster Minerva McGonagall continued, 'you're name you know, has been on the waiting list. Since you were two months old you have been top.' She smiled down at him. 'I have arrived in person, to offer you a place at our school.' Aurelius looked up at her expecting her to go on. 'So?' she asked briskly, 'I don't have all day' she wagged a finger at him sarcastically. 'You want a place at my school?' Aurelius grinned up at her and quickly nodded his head. 'Good, well I will see you later, Dumbledore. I expect great things.' She winked at him.

As he heard the door shut, Aurelius shouted with jubilation at the top of his lungs. 'Will you stop that!' came from below and they both burst into fits of laughter.
