It was a bright, beautiful at summer camp in Odaiba. Everyone was enjoying the nice sunny weather, when everything was interrupted by a single snowflake which rapidly turned itself into a blizzard.
Many of the children dove into whatever shelter they could find, with two groups getting separated from the adults who were guiding everyone to safety. Suddenly, the sky began to clear up, the snowfall grinding to a halt.
A door to a small cabin slowly opened, and out stepped a young boy with short brown hair and glasses wearing a dark red t-shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.
"Wow... That was one heck of a snowfall. It's really pretty now, though." He turned back, gesturing for the others to follow him outside. "C'mon guys, it's not that cold!"
Second to step out was a girl not much younger than him, with shoulder-length black hair, a green hoodie, beige sweatpants, and a white hat. "Says the one who loves the winter. It's freezing out here, Lucas!"
She had barely stepped out of the way before a kid wearing a yellow jacket and a gray shirt with black pants and brown shoes barreled through the doorway, laughing his head off and rolling in the snow.
"Hey, Hoshi, be careful, you're gonna catch a cold!" called a girl older than the rest, sighing in exasperation with a slight shiver. She was wearing a pink tanktop, brown shorts, and gray boots. "Ugh, maybe I'm gonna catch a cold."
A voice called out from still inside. "Yeah, I'm staying in here. Not going out there while wearing this! Especially not if I have to shovel any snow."
Lucas called back, with a grin on his face. "Oh come on, Yuki! At least take a look around, it'll be fun!"
Yuki groaned, walking to the doorway. He was easy to spot in all the white, with his purple shirt, yellow watch, gray shorts, and dark gray shoes. "Fiiine... But I'm only doing this because only Haruko would stay with me if you decided to go off somewhere." He stretched, before brushing off some of the snow that landed on his clothes.
Suddenly, a bright light caught their attention. The sky was streaming with bright blues and greens, leaving the group completely awestruck. The, everything almost happened at once. A large cloud of kicked up snow at another shelter to their left, then what appeared to be five small meteorites struck the snow right in front of them, kicking up a large cloud of their own.
Lucas shook off some of the snow once the cloud had settled, and called out to the rest of the group. "Is everyone okay?"
Haruko was the first to respond, trying to remain calm. "Yeah, but it just got a LOT colder over here! What the heck were those things?!"
A dark pulsing quickly drew their attention however, as out of the small craters rose what looked like miniature black-holes. Hoshi, who had been the first to notice it, instinctively grabbed it without hesitation, and was shocked by how easy it was to catch. "I got it! I dunno how, but I got it!"
The rest grabbed them more hesitantly, somewhat mesmerized by how dark they were compared to everything else.
Lucas slowly loosened his grip on whatever it was, becoming quickly confused as it revealed itself to be some kind of small toy-like device. "...Wait, this is what that dark ball was? It doesn't look as menacing as I thought it would."
He didn't have long to dwell on that thought however, as his attention was quickly drawn up to a watery vortex that had opened up infront of them. "Wh-What on earth is that?!" One by one, the group was pulled into the vortex, all of them fearing what would come next. Then... everything went dark.
