I do not own The Vampire Diaries or the character.

Police Sirens. Police sirens are something most never want to hear. Sheriff Forbes was no different, despite her occupation she hated police sirens, because that meant that something bad was happening, however lately she had been hearing them all too often. What was a quiet town only a month ago had seemingly turned into a giant morgue overnight. Sheriff Forbes couldn't seem to go a day without getting a call about body turning up somewhere, sometimes one sometimes multiple and sadly the latter was the case tonight as she peers around at the bloody sheets covering multiple body parts in the middle of the street, one of her deputies approaches.
"Looks like another animal attack Sheriff. That's the fifth one this week".
Sheriff Forbes sighs in despair, she knows the number, he didn't need to tell her , she walks away from him, she feels like she might get sick at any moment, she eyes every bloody sheet in a slow walk, it feels like torture but she can't bring herslf to stop, then she catches something out of the corner of her ey, she looks to see what it is and in the distance the Sheriff can see a silhouette of a man standing in the woods, the shadow is gone in a split second though. Sheriff Forbes shakes her head, she thinks her lack of sleep is making her see things, she peers back down at the bloody sheets again and two feels come over her, the one in her heart being sorrow, then the one in her head, the same feeling she's had for a while now, the feeling that something else in going on in this town.
Stefan Salvatore Journal Entry, September 10th, 2009.
I'm not supposed to be here anymore, it was only supposed to be a short visit. A pass through on my way to my next destination. Wherever that was going to be, It's dangerous to still be here, in the place I call home. Mystic Falls. I'm taking a risk. I know it. I do, but...I have to know her!
Location:Mystic Falls High
Mystic Falls High. Nothing special about it. Just your average high school. Full of lockers and class rooms, not to mention students upon students filling the hallways. Two of whom were walking through the school side by side. Bonnie Bennett and Caroline Forbes. Definitely two of the most beautiful girls in town. Caroline was tall and slim with fair skin, long blonde hair and blue-green eyes, she could be classified as the classic popular girl, Captain of the cheerleaders and leader of every extracurricular activity. Bonnie on the other hand was a little shorter with dark skin and long black hair, her eyes were an amazing shade of deep green, she wasn't quite as popular as Caroline, even though she did all the same things. Bonnie was the shyer of the two, making Caroline the leader of almost every left Bonnie more in the background, not that either of them cared. Bonnie and Caroline had been best friends since childhood and their social rapport was normal to them. At the moment they had stopped at Bonnie locker, talking about the latest gossip in Mystic Falls.
"I heard they were torn limb from limb".
"Oh My God!". Bonnie utters, disgusted as she grabs her books out of her locker, "What is this… the fourth animal attack?", she slams her locker shut, "I'm surprised they haven't locked us down yet".
Caroline sighs, "I know right. I mean every place I go, I'm getting more paranoid that somethings going to jump on me".
Bonnie nodded, then her focus briefly went behind Caroline when she noticed eyes staring at them, which caused her own to roll in annoyance, "Yeah I think I would feel that too if someone was staring at me like that!".
Caroline turned to meet the gaze of none other than Tyler Lockwood, the captain of the football team and her ex-boyfriend, the ex part being very recent, so of course now every time Caroline saw him she was given the longing stare with the puppy dog eyes. Caroline waved to Tyler, he just slammed his locker and walked away. Caroline turned back to Bonnie, moaning sadly as she did. "He's so not over it yet".
Bonnie's lips pursed, "Clearly", she stated obviously. Both Bonnie and Caroline went walking down the hall, carrying on their conversation.
"I wish he would just move on already. I mean...I did!".
Bonnie rolled her eyes and proceeded to tune out for the next several minutes as Caroline went on yet another rant about Tyler Lockwood and how stupid his feelings were. Bonnie loved Caroline to death, but her ability to be so tactless annoyed Bonnie to no end. As they walked down the hall Bonnie began to peer around at the other students, her head tilted as she noticed a strange excitement that seemed to be overcoming the female population.
"Bonnie...Bonnie, are you listening to me?".
Bonnie quickly snapped her attention back to meet Caroline's glowering gaze.
Bonnie paused for a brief moment, then shook her head and decided to be brutally honest, "Umm, actually no...no I wasn't". At that moment the bell rang and Bonnie quickly turned on her heel and made her way to History, leaving a pouting Caroline to follow closely behind her. Once Bonnie was seated, she noticed that Caroline had sat a seat away from her, leaving an empty seat in the middle of them. Which was unusual because they generally sat together, her brow furrowed at Caroline, who jutted her chin.
"That was mean!". Then Caroline turned her attention to the front of the room.
Bonnie rolled her eyes and also looked to the front of the room as the bell rang again, signaling the beginning of class. Mr. Tanner walked in a moment later. Bonnie sighed, exasperated, she didn't like , but then again, no one really liked him.
"Hello class". Mr. Tanner announced in his usual smug attitude on full blast, speaking to his students in words that were cordial, but in a tone that sounded like he thought they were all beneath him.
"Will everyone please turn to page 81". Of course Mr. Tanner just wanted to get right to business on the first day of School. No asking how everyone's summer was or even a speech on how difficult the work was going to be.
As everyone was turning the directed page in their textbooks, Mr. Tanner decided that a random q/a was in order.
"Okay, so who can tell me when our beloved state of Virginia joined", before could complete his question there was a knock at the door. Mr. Tanner immediately got annoyed, "Who the hell is interrupting me?", he uttered.
Who walked in the room made Bonnie's breath catch in her throat, easily the hottest guy she had ever seen in her life, a sculpted face, lean and muscled, spiked short blond hair. The mystery man handed a note.
"Okay class, meet Stefan Salvatore. Find yourself a seat Stefan".
Stefan nodded at and where did he find to sit? Well right between Bonnie and Caroline of course. Bonnie could take her eyes off of him, except for the split second when she spotted Caroline lean back from her seat to mouth "Oh My God" to her behind Stefan's back, although he paid neither girl any mind.
"Uh...Ms. Bennett". Bonnie's head snapped to Mr. Tanner, looking like she was a deer caught in headlights.
"Am I interrupting you?".
As the class laughed at her, Bonnie sunk back in her seat, a deep blush setting into her cheeks, "No Mr. Tanner, Sorry Mr. Tanner".
When the crowd of people shuffled out after class was over, Bonnie and Caroline followed Stefan out, though as discreetly as they could, they stopped watching him walk down the hallway.
"Wow...That is a hot back". Caroline muttered, Bonnie nodded, "So he must have been what the girls were buzzing about this morning". Bonnie nodded again, Caroline kept on, not registering that Bonnie was not really responding to her, "So plan for this afternoon, find out all the dirt on Mr. Stefan Salvatore", and Bonnie just...nodded,unable to take her eyes off of Stefan until he was literally out of her sight.
Location:Mystic Falls High Lunch Room
"He lives at the old Salvatore Boarding House, He's seventeen years old, he's a Scorpio, his parents died when he was young so he was in foster care, so he hasn't lived here since he was a kid".
Bonnie eyes Caroline in disbelief, "There is no way that you are not making at least some of that up", she then takes a sip of her drink.
Caroline didn't even try to hide her confidence, "Oh please! I have sources for this stuff, you are aware of this".
Bonnie rolled her eyes, "There is no way you found all that out in one afternoon!".
Caroline leaned back in her chair and folded her arms, "You're right. I found all that out between third and fourth period".
Before Bonnie could respond, both girls heard a voice to the left of them.
"Excuse me".
Well speak of the damn devil, Both Bonnie and Caroline looked like a deer caught in headlights as none other than Stefan Salvatore was seeking their attention, each wondering if he knew that they were talking about him.
"I'm sorry if I'm interrupting, but I was hoping one of you could help me?".
"Oh absolutely", Caroline said a little too quickly and a bit too enthusiastically, "Do you need a table to eat at or something? Because this one is totally free".
"Um no...no", Stefan quickly answers, a small amused smile on his face, "This isn't even my lunch period. I just seem to be a bit lost, so could either of you tell me where Mrs Hilton's class is?".
"Oh!", Caroline slumps in her seat, slightly pouting, "I don't actually know where that is".
"Well I do", Bonnie happily piped in,she gathered up her books, "Come on I'll show you. It's my next class anyway".
And with that Bonnie left with Stefan in tow, not even bothering to see what Caroline was doing at all.
Stefan and Bonnie walked through the school shoulder to shoulder. Bonnie felt a bit awkward, the silence felt deafening to her as she searched her mind for something, anything to say. Although it seemed the awkwardness was only one sided, because as Bonnie peered at Stefan through her peripheral vision, it looked as though he was just lost in his own word, following her to Mrs Hilton's class.
"So you're new here?". Bonnie had finally found something to say and she inwardly winced 'Duh' she thought.
"Yeah". Stefan said it completely nonchalantly. Bonnie waited a moment for him to say more, but nothing came, so she went to follow up with another question, however before she could, Stefan found one of his own.
"How about you? Been here long?".
Bonnie nodded,"Yeah, I grew up here. What about you? Where are you from?".
Stefan adjusted his backpack onto his shoulder "Oh here...but I moved around a lot".
'Seems like Caroline was right about that' Bonnie thought, she was about to ask another question when she noticed that they had reached the front door for 's class. "Oh look here we are".
Bonnie stepped in front of Stefan to enter the room, but turned back to face him to see any possible response he may have. Stefan looked down at her, he caught her eyes, a small smile forming on his lips.
"Thanks for the help ummm". Stefan paused, his brow furrowing "You know. I didn't actually catch your name".
It took Bonnie a moment to respond as she was lost in his eyes, she shook her head and stammered to get her own name to come out of her mouth. "Oh it's um… it's ummm... Bonnie. My name is Bonnie".
Stefan's smile got a bit wider as he shook his head at Bonnie's peculiarity.
"Thank's Bonnie".
Then he walked past her and into the classroom. Bonnie stayed behind a moment. Letting out a breath, waiting for her embarrassment to wane, it didn't, but she only had about sixty seconds before the bell was going to ring, so she swallowed her embarrassment and made her way into the room. Finding a seat right beside Stefan.
Location:Mystic Grill
"You forgot your own name".
Bonnie had her face buried in her hands as Caroline pretty much scolded her.
"I know, it was so awkward, but", her head comes up from her hands, "He just has this...Romance novel stare".
Caroline's face went from disbelief to a wide smile in literally less than a second. "Uh oh. Bonnie's in love", she sang.
Bonnie winced as Caroline began to tease her. "Oh stop it I just met the guy". Bonnie then rested her chin in her hand. "He is pretty though".
Caroline leaned back in her chair, still totally amused. "Well maybe you should ask him out I mean it's not like it's against the rules for the girl to ask the guy".
Bonnie rolled her eyes, "And how do you expect me to do that when I forgot my own name just by looking at him,Care".
Caroline tilted her head and actually feigned thought, then she shrugged.
"Beats me, but sorry. I need to get home. I have a lot more planning for the party tomorrow night".
When Caroline noticed Bonnie was frowning at her, she sighed in remorse.
"Oh don't look at me like that, he's just a boy. Anyway I'll see at the party tomorrow right?".
Bonnie nodded, but her displeasure was still written all over her face as Caroline got up and exited the Grill, leaving Bonnie to sit there with just her thoughts. However after a couple of minutes just stirring her drink with her straw, Bonnie decided to just head out herself, hoping to get her mind off of the new boy in town.
Location:Midtown Mystic Falls
Bonnie's walk home was actually one of her favorite parts of the day, she loved peering around at the trees and the sky. Bonnie just enjoyed nature in general and when she was walking home she could just take it in all by her lonesome. However Bonnie's enjoyment of said activity was becoming less and less lately, the animal attacks that had been plaguing the town had everyone on edge, including her and walking alone in a part of the town that was pretty much deserted during this time of day was not calming to the nerves . Although that was not what was currently on Bonnie's mind, her thoughts were still on none other than Stefan Salvatore, she couldn't recall any time that any other guy she met had gotten under her skin so fast.
"CCCAAAWWWW".
Bonnie jumped at the sudden loud pitched sound, clutching her her chest. Bonnie turned to see what had made the sound, perched the wall right next to the sidewalk, Bonnie spotted a large bird, looked like a Crow. Although Bonnie wanted to just wave it off as just odd occurrence and walk away, she could, could get get rid of the strange feeling the bird was giving her, the feeling that it wasn't just some random bird...and of course the fog that would surround her two seconds later did nothing to help the sinister feeling either. Bonnie's eyes darted back and forth at the fog surrounding her feet. 'What the?', her fright getting more and more intense by the second, something was definitely not right. Bonnie turned tail and went to run, only to slam into a hard chest. A pair of hands grabbed Bonnie's shoulders and she met a pair of eyes, Stefan's eyes, along with his concerned expression.
"Woah...are okay Bonnie?".
Bonnie had to take a second to get her breathing under control.
"Um..yeah...yeah, it's just".
Bonnie quickly looked around, sure enough, fog gone, bird gone, if she tried to tell Stefan what had just frightened her she would look crazy, so she opted to put on her best fake smile.
"Yeah sorry. I just...I just wasn't paying any attention".
Stefan nodded, though Bonnie could tell he didn't quite believe her, then her forehead creased.
"Wait a minute. Were you following me?".
Stefan shook his head.
"No..,no. I was just on my way home and I saw you. You seemed a little shaken".
Bonnie internally slapped herself , 'Nice way to win him over Bonnie, accuse him of stalking you'.
Bonnie's hand went over her eyes.
"Sorry...I'm so sorry! That was rude".
Stefan grabbed Bonnie's hand and uncovered her eyes, revealing his understanding smile.
"It's okay".
Bonnie signed in relief. "Thank you".
Stefan nodded. "No problem...um do you need a ride somewhere".
Bonnie's eyes widened a slight bit, 'He wants to give me a ride', She thought about it for a second before replying. "You...you don't have to ".
Stefan shook his head, "No it's no problem I swear".
Before Bonnie could respond Stefan walked away from her and to his ride, a Bonnie didn't realize was there and wondered how she hadn't heard it. Stefan grabbed his helmet and strapped it on, he then proceeded to grab a spare helmet and held it out to Bonnie. Bonnie remained reluctant, she had never been on one of those things before.
Stefan smiled at her, "Come on. Nothing gonna happen to you. I promise".
Stefan's smile along with his sincerity made Bonnie relent, but she was still nervous. Bonnie took the helmet from him and put it on, Stefan helped her onto the back onto the back of the bike before doing so himself. When Stefan was seated Bonnie heard him say. "Put your arms around me...tight". Bonnie was thankful he could see her blush as she did as told. Once Bonnie was situated Stefan started the bike up and took off down the road at a speed that made Bonnie afraid tomorrow wasn't going to come.
Location:The Bennett House
When Stefan beard Bonnie's house, barreling at an ungodly speed, Bonnie started to scream out to him. "Stop, stop, stop, STOP, STOP!".
Stefan pumped the brakes, stopping right in front of the Bennett residence, it took Bonnie a few moments to feel like she could safely unwrap her arms from around his waist, When she managed to get off the bike, she swayed, a bit dizzy, Stefan was chuckling at her, but he reached an arm out to steady her. Once Bonnie had gotten her wits about her, she unstrapped the helmet and handed it back to Stefan before stepping back and smoothing down her helmet hair.
"Thanks for the ride, but let's never do that again".
Stefan snickered. Bonnie went to walk up to the front door of her house, or rather her Grams's house, but Stefan's voice stopped her.
"Wait". Bonnie turned back to see what Stefan wanted. "I heard some people at school talking about some big party happening tomorrow night. I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go...with me?".
Bonnie's heartbeat went up what felt like a million beats per minute, she stammered. "Uh...uh...I mean yeah...sure...Just as long as it's not on this thing", She gestured to the bike.
Stefan chuckled again, "No I do have an actual car...So what do you think eight o'clock, tomorrow night?".
Bonnie didn't even hesitate to nod, "Absolutely. Eight o'clock", She radiantly smiled at him.
Stefan met her smile with a grin of his own. "Great. I'll see you then". Stefan then sped off on his bike down the road. Bonnie stood watching him until he left her site, then she turned to walk up to the front door of her house, only to meet the gaze of her Grams, who she wondered how long had been watching. When Bonnie reached the porch, coming face to face with Gram's almost scolding stare, she wasn't sure what to do and tried to just play it off.
"High Grams".
It sadly didn't seem to work, as Grams just went right into the third degree.
"Mmhmm! Do you want to tell me who that was? and why you were on the back of his motorbike?".
Bonnie didn't really feel the need to lie. "Oh he's a new kid at school, he just offered to give me a ride". Not a lie but Bonnie did selectively decide to leave his name and her date with him out of it, then she rushed past her grams and into the house before any more questions could be asked.
Bonnie's Grams stood at her front door for a moment after Bonnie had rushed in, wanting at this moment, to speak only to herself. "Really Stefan Salvatore? My Granddaughter?", she shook her head. "Unbelievable!", Then she slammed her door shut.
Location:Salvatore Boarding House. Time: The Next Night.
Stefan was getting ready for his date, freshly shaved and showered, and now throwing his best leather jacket over his shoulders when his nephew Zach decided to pop in, shoving a newspaper in his face.
"What the hell is this!". Stefan could see Zachs anger coming out of every pore as he looked at the newspaper.
Stefan threw the paper away, keeping his voice calm. "It says animal attack".
"Oh don't give me that". Zach angrily insisted. "You think I'm stupid, it's always a animal attack with your kind. The way you tear into people. You think just because Mystic Falls is quiet that people don't remember. You're just going to stir things up again...Uncle Stefan please?".
Stefan, who during Zach rant had been fixing his hair, turned to Zach, His voice filled with annoyance. "Zach, I don't have to explain myself to you. Look I'm not attacking people I don't know who or what is! Now if you'll excuse me I have a date". With that Stefan dashed out of the house, not knowing nor caring what else Zach had to say.
Location:Bennett House
The last thing Stefan expected to hear when he approached the front door of Bonnie's house was a screaming match coming from the inside, he could hear it clear as day, they were arguing about him.
"GRAMS YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HIM!".
"OH AND LIKE YOU DO! TRUST ME BONNIE! THEM SALVATORE MEN GOT THE DEVIL IN THEIR EYES!".
Stefan put his head down and sighed, more out of remorse than anything. 'Sheila, still hurt after all these years'. Stefan remembered the last time he saw her, a trainwreck would be putting it lightly, but it's not like that was his fault.
"OH AND HOW WOULD YOU KNOW GRAMS! BECAUSE OF ALL THIS WITCH GARBAGE YOU KEEP TALKING ABOUT!".
"OH GIRL YOU'D BETTER WATCH YOUR MOUTH!".
'Okay that's enough'. Stefan quickly rang the doorbell. Thinks got eerily quiet for a second, then the door opened to reveal Bonnie with a fake smile on her face in an attempt to cover her previous rage.
"Stefan Hi. Please get me the hell out of here!".
Bonnie rushed past Stefan, slamming the door behind her. Stefan thought about asking if everything was okay, but he knew the answer, so acting as if he didn't hear everything would pretty much be a lie and he really didn't want to lie to Bonnie, so he followed her as she rushed to his car. Stefan was about halfway down the pathway when he felt like something was watching him, he turned toward the window of the house and saw Sheila watching him, their eyes met and for several moments they communicated just with their gaze, his eyes said "I'm sorry!", her eyes said "I Hate you!", the curtain suddenly snapped shut. Stefan heras a sigh of irritation come from Bonnie, bringing his attention back to her.
"I'm sorry",She says, "Let's just go".
Bonnie opens the passenger door herself, making herself as comfortable as he could in the seat, her arms were crossed, her jaw was clenched. Stefan approached the drivers side of the car, pausing only for a moment to think to himself. 'Great! This is just...Great!'. Then Stefan gets in the driver's seat, not wasting a second to speed off.
Location:Mystic Falls Woods.
As Stefan parks his car, he takes a look out the window before exiting, he spots what you would expect from a party like this, a bunch of drunk kids, a giant bonfire, not really his scene, but he chose this after all. Stefan undoes his seat belt and steps out of his car, hurting over to Bonnie's side to open her door, a definite cliche on his part, but why not? Bonnie exits the car, murmuring her thanks as he shuts her door. As Bonnie and Stefan made their way through the party Bonnie finally decided to address what happened at her house, after saying literally nothing during the drive.
"I'm sorry about what you heard back there. We're not normally like that". Stefan shook his head. "It's really none of my business. I just hope you're okay". Bonnie nodded her head. "Yeah...yeah I'm fine", she gave a faint smile, it was kind of a lie though. Bonnie was still a little angry. Stefan then decided to change the subject. "So...can I get you a drink?".
Bonnie opened her mouth to respond, but before she could someone slammed right into Stefan. Stefan caught the girl by her shoulders.
"Woah… Are you all right?".
The girl looks at Stefan or at least tries to before she almost falls over, he keeps her steady though.
"Ooh hey there hottie...you got any pot?".
Stefan's eyebrows crease, this girl is clearly hammered, he shakes his head. "Uh… No".
The brunettes lightly shoves Stefan away, "Why do all the hot ones have to be lame?", She says it as if no one can hear her.
Before Stefan or Bonnie can react a voice comes from the girls left.
"Vicki".
Vicki groans in annoyance and truges off. Not long after a man appeared in front of Stefan where Vicki had been, he was fairly tall, blonde hair.
"I'm sorry about my sister, she has...issues", The teenager paused when he noticed Bonnie, who was next to Stefan but was kind of slunk back.
"Oh...you're Stefan right?". The kid extends his hand, "I'm Matt".
Stefan shakes Matt's hand, "You know my name?" he asks, confused.
"Well yeah", Matt says as if it was obvious, "We have the same History class".
Stefan's eyebrows briefly rose, "Oh...oh right. I'm sorry".
"Don't worry about it", Matt gestured to Bonnie,"I'm pretty sure there was only one thing you were paying attention to in class today anyway".
Stefan's only response was a slight smirk. Matt backs away, "But anyway I'll leave you two alone now. Again sorry about Vicki". Matt then turns and walks away. Stefan turns his attention to Bonnie, she looked to be a bit frustrated.
"Things are just not going right tonight are they", Bonnie crossed her arms.
Stefan plays Bonnie's words off like she was being over dramatic, "Oh come on. We're at a party. A bunch of drunk people isn't exactly a surprise". However there was more meaning to what Bonnie had said and he knew it. When Bonnie's sad expression didn't change, Stefan decided a different approach, he put his hand on her shoulder.
"Come on. I'm sure we can find a place private around here".
Bonnie gave a small smile, one which Stefan returned, he then began to lead her off to a place where he hoped they could talk.
Location:Deep Woods
"VICKI!".
Vicki continued to stumble through the woods, ignoring her brother's continued call of her name, hoping to get far enough away so he would finally leave her alone, Matt thought she had a problem. Vicki couldn't understand why Matt couldn't understand that she was just having a good time.
"VICKI!".
"Screw off Matt". Vicki says, though she says it only to herself to make sure Matt couldn't hear her. Vicki continued her march deeper into the wood, she doesn't know how much time passed, but after a while she can't hear Matt anymore, all around her is silence, the eerie horror film kind of silence. Vicki stops in her tracks when she does finally hear a noise. A small rustling in the bushes.
A few moments pass, then Vicki shakes off the weirdness. A few steps later Vicki hears another noise coming behind her, but this time it's footsteps, 'Who else would be out here' she thinks, but then the steps get louder, it sounds like running. Vicki turns around to confront whoever it is, but when she turns the thing stops in front of her, she gasps in fear, it is definitely not a who but a what. Vicki backs up slowly, hoping to turn a run for her life, however she is too drunk to do anything of that sort, instead when she turns to run she plants face first into the dirt. Vicki stays face down, Making no effort to get up out of fear, fooling herself that whatever monster she saw couldn't get her if she stayed as she was. Sadly though, Vicki was dead wrong, she heard heavy breathing right above her head. Before she knew Vicki could feel hot tears running down her face, she decided to raise her head though, only on the hope that maybe, just maybe that what was above her was not the thing she saw a few minutes earlier and was someone from the party that had run it off. When Vicki peered up, that hope was proven false, her eyes met what was sure to be her doom, her crying got worse as terror ran through her, then that monster lunged for her.
Location:Bridge Near Bonfire
Stefan and Bonnie walked side by side across the large bridge, lost in conversation, nothing deep, just trying to get to know each other.
"So any siblings?". Bonnie asks.
Stefan nods, "Two. what about you".
Bonnie shakes her head, "Only child".
Stefan feigns jealousy, "Oh you're so lucky".
Bonnie laughs, "Oh come on. Your siblings can't be that bad".
Stefan sighs, "Oh...you have no idea".
Bonnie laughs again, "No I guess I don't".
Before Stefan or Bonnie could utter another word, they saw a figure running toward them, seemingly in a panic, As the person got closer they could see that it was Matt. Matt stopped in front of them breathing a bit heavily.
"Have either of you seen my sister?", He sounds worried.
Bonnie's forehead creases.
"No". Stefan shakes his head, "Is everything ok Matt?". Bonnie asks.
Matt lets out a sigh of dismay, "I can't find her anywhere".
An uncomfortable silence comes over the three for what seems like forever, but it was only a few moments.
"AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH".
A blood curdling emerges from the woods. Causing every head who could hear it to turn.
"VICKI!". Matt screams out and he takes off running as fast as humanly possible.
"Wait Matt". Bonnie calls after him, she doesn't want him running into something dangerous, he keeps going though, so Bonnie follows. Stefan does the same. Although no one knows exactly what they are looking for. Before long Stefan notices that he's all alone. Everyone got separated. Stefan goes for a walk, he investigates the area around him, As he goes deeper into the woods Stefan begins to smell it, the faint traits of blood, concern overcomes him. Stefan follows the scent, it gets stronger and stronger, until finally he comes across a big open area and stops dead in his tracks, the sight is horrific, blood, blood everywhere. Stefan gulps, his throat is dry, the smell is overwhelming him, his fangs sprout, his eyes change, it's beyond his control, he can hear his own heart beating in his chest at what feels like a thousand beats per minute.
'Oh God, Oh God! I can't do this'.
Stefan is started a second later by a sound coming toward him, voices, it dawns on him that it's the people from the party.
'They can't see me like this. Bonnie can't see me like this'.
Stefan turns and speeds out of the area and away from the scene, not even bothering to get his car, he can hear people's words of terror as he runs. A bunch of Oh My Gods and shrill gasps, he hears one girl utter. "What the hell did this?".
'Yeah that's the question isn't it?' Stefan thinks.
Location:Salvatore Boarding House
Stefan arrives home, slamming the door on his way to his room, thankfully Zach is out at the moment, so Stefan doesn't have to hear some kind of lecture. When Stefan reaches his room, he finally manages to stop, he leans on to his desk, his eyes closed, he takes small calming breaths, all that blood was a bit much.
'How can this be happening now? right as I come to town?'.
Stefan goes to grab a drink from the bottle on his desk, it helps calm his nerves, he's pouring when a strange sound comes to his ears, it sounds like a match lighting. Stefan drops his drink and peers around, then he spots the candle on his desk has been lit.
'I didn't light that'.
Stefan's forehead creases, he gets closer to the candle. Inspecting it, his face gets about an inch from the flame before it all of the sudden shoots up about three feet. Stefan jumped back just barely before the fire caught him. Startled Stefan looks around his room and he sees that now all of the candles are doing the same, shooting into the air all around him.
"What the hell?".
As fast as they started, all the candles went out. Stefan's still asking questions in his own head, but then he feels it, the presence behind him. Stefan turns and finds the culprit, it doesn't make Stefan angry though, it just makes him feel dumb for not guessing sooner. Stefan snickers and greets his guest.
"Roman".
Roman smirks, "Hello...Brother".
Location:Mystic Falls Woods
Crime scenes were becoming all too common around Mystic Falls, at least that's what Bonnie thought as she saw all the flashing lights of Police cars around her, she was leaning on the back of Matt's truck, beside her was Matt, who was clearly scared to death at the fact that his sister was missing and Caroline was beside him, doing her best to console him. Soon enough Sheriff Forbes approached them, her face said not good, but her tone was calm.
"Listen should all probably go home, it's not going to do any good for you all to stay here and worry".
Matt jumps up, "Sheriff I can't leave here without my sister!", he's upset and rightfully so. Sheriff Forbes puts her hand out, signaling for Matt to calm down.
"Matt I know you're upset, but allow me to rephrase. This is an official crime scene now and you all need to go home", she says it sternly. Matt's eyes were filled with anger. Caroline puts a gentle hand on his shoulder, prepared to try and talk him down. Matt slaps her hand away, he gives one last resentful look to the Sheriff before turning on his heels and entering his truck, slamming the door as he does it, speeding off in a fit of rage.
Caroline narrows her eyes at her Mother, "Nice going Mom".
Sheriff Forbes contemplates for a moment, but she doesn't want to deal with this right now, she's just trying to do her job, so she just walks away.
Caroline sifts her focus to Bonnie, "Do you need a ride Bon?".
"Yeah". Bonnie responds, she could easily go into a tangent about how Stefan left her, but she's too tired for that, "Lead the way", she begins to follow Caroline to her car, but pauses when something catches her attention, she sees out of the corner of her eye that Stefan's car is still there, she finds in a little odd, because she wonders how he would have gotten home. Town was miles from here.
"Bonnie". Caroline calls.
Bonnie manages to peel her eyes away from Stefan's car, "Yeah, Yeah…I'm coming".
Location:Salvatore Boarding House
"Don't you think the theatrics were a little much?". Stefan teases.
Roman shrugs, "Well...you know I've always had a knack for flair".
Stefan chuckles, "Yeah", Stefan pauses to look his brother up and down, he looked the same as he had last time Stefan had seen him, long rockstar hair, wearing leather like he was in a hair metal band, the guy looked like he was still stuck in the 80s. "I can see you haven't changed much".
Roman nods and purses his lips, he studies Stefan for a moment, "No but I can see you dumped it down a bit. I mean the neon colors I could handle, but the mullet". Roman sighs in disgust and walks past Stefan.
Stefan grimaces, "Oh don't remind me of the mullet", he turns around to see what Roman is doing, he was being nosey it seemed, inspecting different books Stefan had on his shelf. A moment of silence passes before Stefan decides to change the subject, "Look it's not that I'm not happy to see you but...What are you doing here?".
Roman doesn't even look back at Stefan, "Well I think you already know. These so-called animal attacks aren't natural and someone has to figure out what's going on", Roman looks back at Stefan, "And with your preoccupation with Miss Bonnie Bennett...it wasn't gonna be you".
Stefan Presses his lips in a thin line, "Clearly you didn't get here just five minutes ago".
Roman walks over to Stefan's desk and picks up the drink Stefan had left, "How astute of you", he says sarcastically before downing the drink, not even bothering to ask if Stefan was planning to drink it.
Stefan rolls his eyes, "Well Mr. Detective". Stefan puts air quotes around detective, "If you're looking for something to investigate you're in luck. Another attack just happened".
Roman's brow furrow, he put the glass down, "Where at?". Before Stefan can answer Roman interrupts him, "No wait...Show me". Roman sped out of the room, jumping off of Stefan's balcony.
Stefan hesitated for a moment, he really didn't want to go back to the sight at the moment, he was still a little rocked from it earlier, but then again. Roman was stronger than him and would probably force him, plus he had to get his car sometime, So Stefan sighed in defeat and followed Roman out.
Location:Back Roads Of Mystic Falls
The silence in Roman's car was a bit odd for Stefan, considering he and Roman hadn't seen each other in twenty years, he thought they would be catching up , but once Stefan had told Roman where to go, his personality had shifted to quiet and focused. Stefan tried to break the silence though.
"So...You heard from Damon lately?".
"Nope". Roman says monotone and stone faced.
Stefan waits for more words, but he doesn't get them. A few minutes pass, they are nearing their destination when Stefan speaks again.
"So...you're not buying the animal attack story either uh?'.
Roman parks right beside where Stefan had left his car earlier, he responds in the same monotone voice. "No...Actually I do". Roman exits the car.
Stefan's face scrunches, 'What?' He thinks, before getting out of the car himself. Stefan approaches Roman to ask him what he means but Roman puts a hand out to stop him. Stefan looks in the same direction as Roman, he sees in the distance that police are still investigating the area. There seems to be at least a dozen around. Roman looks at Stefan and nods toward the other side of the woods, around the still smoking bonfire, Stefan catches the meaning, so they sneak around the bonfire and enter the woods from the opposite side of the cops, they sprint at a human speed, neither wanting to risk doing something supernatural with people around. Roman doesn't need Stefan the lead the way, he can smell the blood and just follows his nose. When they finally come across the area they are looking for, Stefan keeps his distance in an effort not to become overwhelmed by the smell. Roman however is not bothered by it as he gets a closer look at the site, it doesn't take him long to find what he's looking for or rather several of what he's looking for, because he stops and notices sever strands of hair on ground, he picks one up and studies it a moment, then a take a whiff of it.
Stefan speaks up, a bit perplexed by all this, "What is it?".
Roman doesn't answer, but his eyes turn to the sky. Stefan follows Romans gaze, they look up to see a bright full moon and then in the distance they hear the howl of a wolf.
