A birthday story for pokemonsora01, who owns Jamie. Here you go, Amigo! :) Happy Birthday! :)
Danny Phantom belongs to Butch Hartman and Nickelodeon. I only own Rachel, Phantina, Rebecca (Phantana), and Clocktina.
Never Leaving A Friend Behind
Jamie was practicing a few soccer tricks when he suddenly stopped, hearing a voice say his name, yet when he looked around, he didn't see anyone. The park was surprisingly quiet all of a sudden. He looked to see a couple people that had been walking were now frozen as if they had been stopped by some unseen force.
"Jamie," the same voice he had heard before called out to him again.
Swallowing, the boy looked around, not recognizing the voice. "Don't be frightened," he heard the voice say soothingly. "There is trouble in the Ghost Zone. Your friend Skulker needs your help."
The boy blinked and stood up straighter. "Is it Walker again?" He asked, recalling what happened the last time.
"Yes," the voice replied. "Will you go help him?"
Jamie nodded his head once. "Yes," he said firmly.
A familiar green portal appeared before him and he went through it, looking around to make sure no one was around before he closed his eyes, willing himself to transform into his halfa form. Feeling the transformation, he opened his eyes and looked around. "Now where is Walker's lair?" He asked himself before he began flying around, keeping his eyes and ears open.
He flew on a bit further before seeing a ghost that wore overalls flying past him. "No one captures the Box Ghost!" It said, trying to sound menacing.
"Get back here!" A harsher voice said and Jamie flew up to some floating ghost asteroids, hiding behind one and peeking out, having a feeling he knew who was chasing the box ghost.
Sure enough, he saw the familiar uniform of the Ghost Police, the same ones that worked for Walker. One of them zapped handcuffs on the Box Ghost before they threw him in the back of a van. "Another one," one of them said.
"Walker's going to be happy," said the others as they headed to the front part of the van.
Jamie thought for a moment before getting an idea. He knew invisibility was supposed to be a ghost power, so he tried it and found his lower half vanishing. Pleased with this outcome, he quickly went to the back of the van and grabbed a handle that he saw on the outer door, getting a good grip right before the van took off at high speed.
"Hold on tight, Jamie," he heard the same voice from before say. "And be careful."
Jamie was grateful when the van stopped and he let go of the handle, glad to see he was still invisible before he moved away, hiding nearby and looking to see Walker's fortress. Having been there before, he knew that it wouldn't be easy to sneak in. But when another van came up, he decided his only chance to get Skulker free was to either go in with the van somehow or find a way to perhaps dig his friend out.
He ruled out the latter as he went towards the van, his invisibility holding as the van headed inside the jail, ready to drop off more prisoners.
Walker was pleased with the turnout, but had a feeling in the back of his mind that something was a bit off. He checked his files and rule book again, but they were fine. "Still no luck with that Phantom kid?" He asked one of the guards.
"He gave us the slip again, Walker," one guard said. "Either he's getting quicker or someone's helping him."
The law ghost growled. "One day, he'll be in my prison with no escape," he said.
Jamie wondered who they were talking about before he suddenly saw a boy flying upwards in a black-and-silver costume, his hair white and eyes glowing green. "There he is!" One guard cried out.
The newcomer looked at Walker with disgust. "Walker, when are you going to learn to not go too far with your rules?" He asked.
"There no such thing as going too far with the rules, punk," the law ghost said. "And I've got a special cell for you."
Seeing the guards and law ghost were distracted, Jamie immediately went for the jail cells, seeing they were unguarded too. He spotted Skulker and went up to the bars. "Skulker?" He whispered carefully.
The hunter lifted up his head, looking around, but not seeing anyone. "Skulker, it's me," he heard and his eyes widened as he recognized the voice.
"Jamie?" He whispered back. "Where are you?"
"At the bars," the boy whispered back. "I'm getting you out of here."
Skulker looked worried. "Walker caught you too?" He asked.
"No," Jamie said as the bars vanished and the hunter came out, his eyes widening at seeing his friend materialize beside him. "A voice told me you were in trouble and asked if I'd rescue you, to which I said 'yes'."
The hunter shook his head. "Jamie, I thought I told you to be careful about entering random ghost portals," he said.
"Yeah, you did," the boy said. "But...well...,"
He was surprised when the ghost pulled him into a hug, but he returned it happily. "But you couldn't ignore the voice, could you?" He asked gently. "I wonder who spoke to you."
"I don't know," Jamie said before hearing a cry and looking over to see the same boy from earlier landed a bit hard on the ground. "Uh-oh, I think Walker's coming."
Skulker's eyes widened before seeing the other boy was hurt. "He's hurt," he said, going up to the boy.
Jamie came closer and his eyes widened. "Wait...is this Danny Phantom?" He asked.
"One and only," a voice answered weakly and they saw Danny was trying to move, but was a bit weak. He looked up at Skulker, who looked at him and shook his head.
"Not today, whelp," he said, picking him up. "Jamie, we need to get out of here."
Walker and his ghost patrol appeared. "I knew something wasn't right," the law ghost said, seeing Jamie. "You! You won't escape this time."
Danny looked up at Skulker weakly. "I can't do much," he said apologetically.
Jamie looked thoughtful before taking a deep breath. "Maybe I can," he said. "Skulker, got anything I can borrow?"
"Most of my stuff is too dangerous for you, but some bolos and nets," the hunter said.
"No worries."
Skulker gave him some bolos and watched wide-eyed as Jamie managed to capture some of Walker's ghost force and even blasted them with hand rays. All was going well until Walker flew up and caught the boy, glaring at him. "You're not getting away from me again, boy," he growled.
Skulker thought fast before he remembered how Danny had escaped Walker. "Jamie! Turn back to your human form!" He said urgently.
"He's right, Jamie," the same voice said. "Go human and Walker can't touch you."
Deciding he had nothing to lose, Jamie closed his eyes and a moment later, he was falling as Walker's grip suddenly wasn't there. "Jamie!" Skulker cried out, flying up and catching his friend. "Hold on. I've got you."
"NO!" Walker cried out as suddenly the cells all opened and the ghosts broke out of the prison.
Danny lifted up his head a little. "Skulker," he said. "Clockwork's tower."
"For once, I agree," he said as he began flying in that direction as they heard Walker yelling angrily.
Jamie spotted a familiar figure on the steps of the Clocktower. "Rachel!" He called out.
She looked up and looked relieved that they were okay. "Oh, good. You got Clockwork's message," she said, leading them in.
A teenage girl greeted them and she gasped at seeing Danny was hurt. "Danny!" She said, going up to Skulker and accepting the boy from him.
He lifted his head. "I'm okay, Rebecca," he said weakly.
She shook her head. "Come on, let's go see Dad," she said.
Jamie noticed the girl had on dark clothing and while a cape hung from her shoulders, a sash of clock gears went from her left shoulder to her right side. A silver key made from clock gears hung around her neck and he put two and two together. "You're Clockwork's daughter?" He asked.
She smiled. "Oldest daughter," she said. "And it's nice to finally meet the boy that can go ghost as Danny can."
She led them to a room Jamie was familiar with and Clockwork was there with a female ghost and a small child. "Ah, you made it," the time ghost said before looking at Jamie as Rebecca placed Danny on a nearby couch. "I knew you would respond when I told you Skulker needed your help."
"Hey, I don't leave friends behind," the boy said.
"That he doesn't," Rachel said with a proud smile before turning to her cousin/brother and gesturing to the three new ghosts. "Jamie, meet the rest of the Time family: Phantina, Rebecca, and Clocktina."
"Hello," the ghost woman said with a smile. "It's good to see there is another halfa who walks the path of good as does our oldest daughter
and the savior of the Ghost Zone."
Jamie blinked and looked at Rebecca, who smiled and transformed to her human form. Clocktina went up to Jamie and hugged him and he smiled, hugging her back.
A glow caught his attention and he saw Rebecca's hands glowing before Danny sat up, feeling better. "Thanks, Rebecca," he said before looking over at Jamie. "So you're the kid that Skulker will do anything to protect."
"Quiet, whelp," Skulker said, but his voice held no heat.
The boy blinked and Phantina smiled. "You know he only speaks truth, Skulker," she said. "You're fond of the boy as we are of Danny."
The hunter was quiet for a moment. "So? Not a crime to protect a kid from that stiff law ghost," he said finally.
Clockwork chuckled. "True," he said. "I frankly have half a mind to ask Frostbite for the Infi-Map and send Walker through it."
"Infi-Map?" Jamie asked.
"A powerful map my uncle Frostbite guards," Rebecca said. "It can take you anywhere."
"Which is why you have to be careful going into ghost portals," Skulker said to Jamie. "They could lead you to another time, even if they open up randomly in your world."
"But you're glad he did this time because you know Jamie is always loyal to his friends and will never leave them behind," Rachel said.
The hunter smiled a little. "Yes," he admitted.
Clockwork smiled. "I believe we shall find some entertainment on the screens," he said. "It seems the Observants had a word with Walker."
As the scene played on the screens and everyone was laughing at the freaked out expression on the law ghost's face as the Observants chased after him, Jamie looked at Skulker, who smiled at him.
"Thanks, Jamie, for busting me out of there," he said. "I owe you one."
The boy shook his head. "Nah, you don't owe me anything," he said. "You're my friend. I'll do that anytime."
Smiling, Skulker pulled the boy into a hug before giving him a playful noogie, making him laugh while Rachel and Clockwork watched, both smiling.
Happy Birthday, pokemonsora01! Hope it's a blast! :)
