Many people think that the only use for seal blubber is to make blubbered seal jerky. Although it is the best use of blubber in my humble opinion, I have found that humble seal blubber is the work ostrich-horse of animal fats. Here are just of few of it's many other uses uses:
1. It's a great moisturizer
Don't listen to people who say the oil will leave you greasy and pimply. There is nothing wrong with either greasy or pimply skin. You know what's worse than greasy skin and pimples? Your face peeling off from frostbite while you are tracking leopard seals, so layer it on thick.
2. It's great for a tidy warrior's wolf tail.
Not good for ponytails. But for a sleek do to keep your hair out of your face while you do fierce warrior things, just a dab'll do ya!
3. Natural deodorant
No bacteria can break the blubber-skin barrier to breed their stinky smells. Plus you get the pleasure of smelling like blubbered seal jerky for the rest of the day.
4. Oral health
Just swish it around in your mouth to coat your teeth and protect your gums from decay and tartar. It is also the best tasting toothpaste on the market. Start at a minute of swishing and work your way up to 15 minutes.
5. Warrior face paint remover
Don't try this on makeup, it won't work. Because it's not warrior face paint
6. A lubricant
Get your minds out of the dumpster. The Mechanist and I have found that it maintains its viscosity and channeling characteristics at high temperatures and speeds.
Also, I have it on good authority from a certain masked vigilante that it is great for lubricating squeaky door hinges of fortresses that you need to sneak into
7. Salad dressing
Just make sure you warn any vegetarians before you serve it. Don't worry Aang didn't eat it. The smell was enough to make him lose his sea prunes
8. Household cleaner
Furniture, fixtures, work surfaces, windows, you name it, it will get the grime off and protect your home from rust and dust. Just don't use it on stone or wood floors, it makes things a little too slippery. Unless that's what you're going for, then GO FOR IT (also hawk me the time and place)
9. Buff and restore leather
Care for your armor is an important part of being a warrior. Seal blubber will keep your seal leather from cracking and getting brittle.
10. Cleaning and maintaining your steel weapons
Speaking of care for the tools of your warrior trade; seal blubber is great for cleaning the gunk off of swords and boomerangs after fierce battles between warriors. Remember to remove excess blubber by finishing off with a loving wipedown with a lint free cloth.
11. Storing said steel weapons
If you are looking forward to an era of peace and prosperity with no conflicts of any kind that would require the use of weapons, you are dead wrong, Aang. Don't Hawk at me!
But if you are not swayed, then blubber your weapons and wrap them, individually, in lint free cloths and store in a water and dust proof storage case.
P.S. If you are going to be a masked vigilante with signature weapons, remember to not store your said signature weapons in full display on prominent walls in your own chambers.
12. Conditioning the fur of your air bison
Look, Avatar Aang may be a vegetarian, but Appa for sure will murder you if you try to hurt the people he loves (remember The Siege of the North?). So don't feel guilty about showing your furry buddy a little extra tender loving care. It will keep his hide moisturized and his fur shiny.
