Mystic Falls was home for many reasons. Despite its name, there was nothing mystical about the town. However, it was home to four years of highschool as a Timberwolf, and four years of friends, and fun times. Now, it was time to grow up, be ushered into the new world of adulthood and responsibilities. It was something that Bella had not looked forward to.

When she was nine, her father was killed in the line of duty. Her mother had abandoned her from birth, and so it was just Charlie and her for a while. They lived in Forks, Washington, but she was quickly taken in by a family, a nice family. The Cullen's. She was not the only child to be taken in by the Cullen's. The oldest was Rosalie. She was twelve when Bella came to the family. She was beautiful, blonde, wavy hair, and violet blue eyes that twinkled when she smiled. Her twin brother was Jasper, who had the perfect blonde hair to match, with doe brown eyes, was the silent one, but he was nice, caring about others, which was opposite of Rosalie. Emmett was ten, and the next oldest. He had darkening blonde/brown hair and denim blue eyes, and was the goofball, of the bunch. Mary Alice, or just Alice, was eight, and was adventurous and kind. She was so outgoing, and bright. Her dark eyes matched Bella's and her dark hair did too. Then there was Edward, the shy eight-year-old little boy, that rarely spoke unless someone spoke to him first. He had dark hair, and pretty green eyes, almost like raw emeralds. He came from a household that was abusive, or so that's what all the whispers were about in town. Him and Alice were adopted at the same time, and many mistaken them for twins, but the only relation was that they were both adopted.

So, Carlisle, and Esme Cullen, Bella's new adoptive parents, moved the six of them to a whole new town, across the country. They grew up in Mystic Falls, and out of the six of them, Bella and Jasper were the closest. They were best friends for all intents and purposes, and they were pretty much inseparable.

Now Bella, Alice, and Edward had graduated from High School, and off to the real world they were heading. Rosalie was taking on the challenge of being a model, and so far, she had done a few shoots of consequence. She was three years older than Bella, and she was gorgeous. Bella admired Rose for her beauty, and was proud of her accomplishments. Jasper was attending Whitmore, the same University that Bella and Edward would be attending, and Alice too, after a bit of convincing. Emmett and Jasper were both Sophomores. Jasper took a year off from high school to travel for a year, before settling on Whitmore. Emmett was the jock of the group, as was Jasper, both played football for Whitmore University, so it was nice that they got to do that much together.

"Okay, you're sure you want to stay in the dorms?" Esme asked Bella as they finished packing her suitcase.

"Yes mom, I want to do the whole experience. Jazz and Em are on campus too. Eddie got in the same dorm as them, and Alice and I are going to share. Plus, Elena and Caroline are going to be on campus too. Maybe next year, we can get an apartment or something together." Bella said, smiling at Esme. Esme was so youthful, and beautiful. Her honey caramel hair held a slight curl to her shoulders and her dark amber eyes shone bright with a mother's love. She couldn't have children, and she was so happy that her and Carlisle could adopt the six lovely children that they had.

Esme kissed Bella's temple. "Okay. Just making sure. Dad and I will get you guys an apartment off campus if you wanted."

"I know, but we also need to experience all of this. I love you." Bella said, kissing Esme's cheek. "Is dad still taking us to the campus?"

"Yes, he just finished up at the hospital and should be-"

Carlisle walked in the door, downstairs. "I'm here!" He called out.

Bella smiled. "Right on time." She hefted her suitcase, going out into the hall and bumping into Edward. He grabbed her suitcase. "Thanks."

Edward smiled. "No problem." He carried it down the stairs after her and set it down by the door.

"Where's Alice?" Carlisle asked.

"Coming!" Alice said, pulling her suitcase with her behind her as well as a second one, and a duffle that was attached to it. Edward sighed and jogged up the stairs and hoisted the one suitcase with the duffle and came down the stairs. He had already put his suitcase by the door earlier.

"So much stuff…" Bella murmured.

Carlisle chuckled. "Okay, let's get this stuff in the SUV." He said and went to Esme and kissed her softly. "Those papers came through from the lawyer."

Esme clasped her hands together. "Oh really?"

"They did. The surrogate will be meeting with Doctor Fell at noon tomorrow. We'll go over some agreements, and sign some more papers then." Carlisle relayed the beautiful news of finally finding a surrogate. It was none other than Elena's aunt Jenna Sommers, who was willing to help Carlisle and Esme have a child of their own. Esme had some eggs frozen that they were waiting for just the right moment, and now that their nest was completely empty, they wanted to take on this task.

Bella smiled. "That's great. Details later, mom. Love you!" She said as she waved at Esme and walked out the door with Edward and Alice, struggling to carry everything in one go, instead of making multiple trips like normal people.

Carlisle helped Alice get the stuff packed in and then the four of them were off on the hour drive to Whitmore University.

[Whitmore University]

It was a whole new world, for Bella, when they entered the campus. Admissions already emailed over the dorm information, and the key code for the door. They had to pick up their card at the security desk, and that was pretty much it for Bella and Alice. Edward was going to be rooming with Jasper and Emmett at the frat house they were a part of, which being a Cullen, got Edward in the door faster than any other pledges.

"Okay, if you need anything, just call me. I've set up some funds in your checking accounts, and if you need more, just tell me." Carlisle said. Bella was used to him doing stuff like that. He was a doctor, and quite successful. The Cullen's had a bunch of money, and it wasn't a secret that they were a wealthy family.

"Thank you, dad," Bella said and kissed Carlisle's cheek. "I'll call you at the end of the week."

"Okay, love you girls. Edward, watch out for your sisters please."

"Will do, dad." Edward said with a wave. Carlisle sighed and got back in the SUV, watching his kids, going off on their college adventures. He smiled, looking in the rearview mirror before driving away.

Alice was so excited and could barely contain herself. "Oh, it's so amazing. We're freshman! At University! This is going to be so much fun!" She was nearly bubbling over with excitement.

Bella laughed, and then looked up and spotted Elena and Caroline. "Elena! Care!" She waved.

Elena and Caroline rushed over to Bella and Alice, dragging their suitcases behind them. "We're all roomies! This is going to be the best year ever!" The four of them hugged, and Edward rolled his eyes.

"I'm heading over to the frat. You guys going to be good, or do I need to escort you?" Edward teased.

"We got it. Go!" Alice waved Edward on. "So, classes don't start until Monday, right?" She asked as they walked towards their dorm.

"Right. I have Occult Studies at nine, and then Pre Cal at two." Elena relayed.

"I have Occult studies too!" Bella said with a wide smile. "Oh, and I have History & Antiquity."

"I am doing theater, so I have a professor, his name is…" Caroline took a paper from her back pocket, and looked at it. "Professor Volturi, he's doing General Lit and Shakespeare. Which I thought was important for my theater major." She beamed.

Alice was grinning. "I have Microbiology with Professor Maxfield, and Intro to Medicine with Professor Laughlin."

"Alice, you're going pre-med too?" Elena asked.

Alice nodded. "I am. I don't want to be a doctor like dad, I want to do dermatology. I know that sounds weird."

"No that makes perfect sense. Your skin is flawless." Bella commented with a smile and a nod.

They got to their dorm, and picked up their key cards, and went up to the fourth floor and opened the door to their dorm. It was perfect. Four beds were in the room, and it was all open. There was a kitchen area, and two bathrooms, which was important for four girls. They all picked their bed, and then started putting way their stuff. There were two closets, which Alice and Caroline monopolized and Elena and Bella let them.

There was a knock at the door and so Elena moved to open it. A shorter girl handed her a flier, and took off, knocking on other doors.

Back to School Mixer!

"Hey, there's a back-to-school Mixer." Elena said, holding up a flier, it was printed on neon green paper, and the directions to the frat that Edward was bunking at was on there.

"We should go!" Caroline and Alice exclaimed at the same time.

Bella and Elena exchanged looks, and then shrugged. "Why not." It was Friday, and they had all weekend to explore the campus, and make new friends, and just have some fun before responsibility started knocking on the door.

By the time the sun started going down in the sky, the four were ready to hit the scene, and have fun at the mixer that was their real introduction in college life.

The music was loud as they walked up to the door of the frat. There were people outside, inside, in the back, where there was a pool. Caroline and Alice clasped hands and went off inside, while Bella and Elena remained more reserved, looking around at all the many exits, so they wouldn't feel trapped.

Bella saw how much life there was on the campus, so many students gathered in one spot to have some fun before classes started. This was exciting, and for once she was going to relax a little. She had to remind herself constantly that it was okay to have fun occasionally.

"Bella!" Emmett trotted over to her; her big goofy, dumb brother was huge. He was built for football, and that was also evident in his abilities on the field as well.

"Hey Em." Bella smiled up at him. Emmett had been the big protective older brother, even if they were only a year apart.

"I'm surprised you're here." Emmett admitted. Bella wasn't typically the type to go and party.

Bella shrugged. "I figured, why the hell not." She grinned.

"Well, there's drinks over there, keg out back and- "

"You're inspiring me to drink? What kind of big brother are you?" She smacked his arm playfully.

Emmett smiled wide. "Well, you know, it's college now little sis. Welcome aboard, go have fun, but not too much fun." He said with a wink, and then he was being called, and he ran off to chest bump another dude, who was on the football team with him, she assumed.

Bella shook her head, looking around. Elena had disappeared to the outside, probably to see the pool. The house was extraordinary. Most of the buildings on campus were older, since the university itself was older. She wandered into the kitchen and decided to grab a hard lemonade. She had one before, at a high school party once, and she knew the taste wouldn't be too bad. She wandered outside to look around, walking straight into one kid. "I'm so sorry." She immediately apologized.

The kid smiled at her. He was taller than she was, his hair was dark, and so were his eyes. He looked so delicate almost. "No worries," he spoke.

"I'm Bella," she introduced.

"Tyler." He introduced back and he started to say something, but something caught his attention. He smiled. "It was nice meeting you, enjoy." He said and walked away.

Bella sighed, lifting the bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade to her lips and drank. She nagged herself to be more careful and less clumsy, one of the daily struggles she inherited unfortunately from her biological mother apparently. From what she remembered of Charlie, and what he had said about Renee, was that she was a graceless angel. Someone who could trip over air.

After an hour, Bella felt buzzed drunk, and that didn't scare her. She was relaxed, and having fun. She watched as Caroline and Elena took turns diving into the swimming pool, doing silly tricks. They were in their bra and panties, and there was a lot of cheering. Alice was dancing a lot, and she grabbed the attention of Tyler earlier, so that is why he had run off. She remembered that Tyler went to their school, and Alice had an eye for him then, and now that they were in college, some fun could happen.

By one in the morning, Bella was drunk to say the least. So drunk, that she eventually laid down, and went to sleep on a couch.

[The next morning]

Bella stirred, moving her legs and hitting them against something. It was a body, and that had her sitting up. She was in a bed. She looked around, and saw the covers ruffled beside her. She was still clothed, so that was a good sign. The slight panic set in, and she looked around the room. It was a normal room. She felt stirring beside her and the blankets moved, and she was laying next to Emmett, and relief shot through her.

"Hmm?" Emmett was groggy. "You're awake." He felt the uneasiness of a hangover.

Bella wasn't feeling too hot herself. "How did I get up here?"

"I carried you." Emmett slurred a little, from sleepiness. "You passed out on a couch. I barely got you up the stairs. You're heavier when drunk."

"I'm sorry." She frowned.

Emmett grunted. "Well, I didn't want to leave you on a couch passed out in a frat house. Not smart." He scolded her lightly.

"I…was really drunk." Bella admitted.

"I know. So next time, when you're feeling like that at our next party, come to my room and lay on my bed. My name is on the door." He said, and reached over and ruffled her hair. He got out of bed, wobbling a little. He was wearing the same clothes from last night too, which meant he probably just passed out on the bed with her.

"Thank you."

Emmett smiled. "What are big bros for huh? Be careful. Oh, I text Aly and told her that you were passed out drunk up here, so she wouldn't worry. I'm hitting the shower unless you want me to walk you back to your dorm."

Bella shook her head. "I'll be fine. Thank you, love you." She said and stood, she hugged Emmett quickly and then out the door she went. The frat house was in a disarray. Cups, and bottles everywhere. There were some dudes passed out in various places. She tiptoed out the front door, shutting it and walking towards her dorm building. She looked at her phone, it was seven in the morning, much earlier than she anticipated. She wasn't paying attention and walked straight into something, or someone. "Oh god, I'm sorry." She apologized. She really needed to pay attention more. She looked at up at the person she had clumsily assaulted with her inability to walk normal.

"Are you okay?" The voice asked. The man was a little older, possibly not even a student.

"Uh, yes. Just heading back to my dorm." She offered a smile.

"Frat party already?" The man asked, raising a brow.

Bella looked at him. He was nice looking, he had sandy blond hair, and steel blue eyes that were kind. "Uh yes. You're…a professor here, aren't you?"

"I am. Alaric Saltzman, Occult Studies." He introduced.

"Oh, I have you. Class is Monday."

Alaric nodded. "Yes," and he chuckled. "Are you sure you're, okay?" He asked as he looked her over. Her hair was a little messy, but it wasn't the worse thing he's witnessed on campus.

"I am, I actually. My big brother stays at the fraternity." She motioned behind her. "There was a mixer, and I just guess I drank too much…" she admitted.

"Ah, big brothers are handy for situations like this. Be careful though, they hold little seminars to help spread the word of safe drinking, and all of that. What's your name?"

"Bella Cullen." She introduced. "I really am sorry I ran into you. I don't pay attention to my surroundings when technology is involved." She laughed nervously and held up her phone.

"It's okay. Well, it was nice meeting you Bella. I'll see you Monday, and have a safe, fun weekend. Welcome to Whitmore." Alaric said with a friendly smile and let her be on her way.

Bella blew out a breath. Now the first impression of her for one of her professors was she was a partying, clumsy fool. She frowned, hating that was the first-time meeting one of her professors, and she hurried back to her dorm to shower, and just rest for a bit before the touring activities began when Caroline and Alice woke up. Since they had a full itinerary lined up for them.

[1 week later]

Bella had to admit that it wasn't as hard of a week that she thought it would be. Alaric Saltzman was an amazing, funny Professor, and she really enjoyed his class. Professor Mikaelson was an interesting Professor. He was from London, and held multiple master's degrees, and a few doctorates. He was incredible, and inspirational. His history class was so interesting, and not boring like she thought it would be. Elijah Mikaelson was also one of the hotter Professor's on campus. Naturally, girls gossiped a lot about it. He was tall, dark and handsome, and he was the star in many girls' fantasies.

This Saturday was all about another party that Emmett's frat was throwing and despite getting really hungover last time, Bella admitted that it was fun, and agreed to go. She dressed the part, wearing a skirt this time, as the heat of summer was still threatening them, and a tank top. Her hair was braided in a single braid that she had laying over her shoulder. This was the most relaxed she's ever been, and she was glad that Elena and Caroline talked her into coming out for the party.

"Do they throw parties every weekend?" Bella asked over the loud music, while standing in the kitchen with Jasper.

"Yup." Jasper said with a laugh, lifting his cup to his lips. "Mmm. I'm crashing early tonight though. I have to work on a paper this weekend for Monday." He patted Bella's arm. "Have fun." He said and then ruffled her hair.

Bella smiled, watching Jasper retreat up the stairs to his room, getting hit on by several girls along his way, which he politely declined. She picked up her drink from the counter and downed it quickly before getting herself another. She went outside to see Alice on the shoulders of Tyler Lockwood, and Caroline was on the shoulders of Edward, and they were playing chicken in the pool. This time, they all came prepared, and wore swimsuits under their clothes.

"Wanna play?" Emmett asked, coming up beside her.

"I don't have a partner." Bella pointed out.

Emmett laughed, and pulled his shirt off over his head. "Come on." He said and he slid down into the water.

Bella sighed, slipping her skirt off, and tank top off, wearing her sapphire blue bikini. She was always the self-conscious type, but right now she was a little tipsy, and didn't really care. She slid down into the water, her feet touching the bottom. It wasn't as cold as she thought the water would be.

Caroline and Alice cheered. "New contender!" They high-fived each other.

Emmett disappeared under water and then lifted Bella up on his shoulders, which caused Bella to squeal a little and then laugh.

Bella wasn't sure if she was a match for Caroline or Alice, but she tried the game anyways. Bella managed to topple Alice off Tyler and then she was up against Caroline. It didn't take long, but Edward lost his footing and under he went with Caroline. There was some cheers, and then Emmett lifted her and tossed her into the water, and she squealed again. She surfaced and laughed, splashing Emmett with water.

She got out of the pool, and a boy, she didn't recognize, handed her a towel. She grabbed it, thanking him, and dried off, before pulling her clothes back on. She went and grabbed another drink in the kitchen and turned, walking into Emmett. "Oh, hey. That was actually really fun."

"Oh Emmy!" A girl called and walked over. Bella recognized her as Jessica Stanley.

"Oh hey Jess." Emmett acknowledged her.

Jessica hugged Emmett's arm, purposedly pressing up against him. "I want to try playing chicken." She batted her lashes.

Emmett smiled. "Sure." He said and looked at Bella. "Don't drink too much," he warned and then he was off to get back in the pool with Jessica this time.

Bella smiled, seeing her brother so carefree and having fun, made her smile.

A few hours later, Bella did not only listen to Emmett's warning about not drinking too much, but she felt way more intoxicated than last week. She stumbled up the stairs to the rooms, and opened a door, pretty sure it was Emmett's and walked in. She landed on the bed with an oof.

A guy looked up from his desk at the sudden appearance of Bella. He raised a brow and stood, walking over to the bed. Bella was wearing just a bathing suit top, having gotten hot earlier and she took it off, and she didn't have her skirt on, so she was just in her bathing suit. "Um, hello?"

Bella grumbled, leaning up, blinking a few times. "I'm tired." She slurred.

"Right, um. Not your room, love." He said, and when she just blinked at him. "What's your name?" She didn't answer him, but instead, passed out.

He sighed, going over to his closet, taking out a shirt, and walking back over to her, and leaning her up, pulling his shirt over her head. He didn't want there to be any misunderstandings later. He tucked her in and went back to his desk and continued typing on his computer.

An hour went by and Bella moaned, stirring in the bed. The guy looked over at her when she sat up. She rubbed her head, still feeling drunk. "Hmm?"

"Are you coherent?" The voice called to her.

Bella looked over towards the voice. It didn't belong to Emmett. Instead, the voice was accented, like he was from England or something. "Uh…Where am I?"

"My bedroom."

"Who are you?" She was confused.

"Kol Mikaelson." He said. "You are?"

"Bella." She muttered, and looked down. She was wearing a shirt, that wasn't hers. "Um did…what?"

Kol raised a brow. "You stumbled in here drunk an hour ago. The party is downstairs love."

"I uh…we didn't do anything did we, I apologize…I'm still…drunk." Her words were slightly slurred.

"We did not. I'm working on a paper. I put a shirt on you because you were practically naked. I didn't want you to misunderstand in the morning when you woke up. But you're awake now. Are you Emmett's sister?" Kol asked.

Bella nodded. "I'm really sorry."

"It's fine." Kol sighed and stood. "I'll go get Emmett."

Bella shook her head. "No, I'll leave. I think I can walk now." She stood, her legs feeling a little wobbly and she swayed a little, and Kol held her up. "Maybe not."

Kol nodded. "Sit back down. I'll fetch Emmett." He said and left his room. He went downstairs, looking for Emmett. He found him by the pool still, Jessica Stanley sitting in his lap, making out. "Em."

Emmett broke away to look up at Kol. "Hmm?"

"Your sister is in my room, very drunk. What do you want me to do with her?" Kol asked, shoving his hands in his front pockets.

"Oh shit." Emmett pushed Jessica out of his lap, and stood. "I'll go get her. Thank you, man." He said and slapped his shoulder friendly. Out of all the guys at the frat, he was actually thankful that she wandered into Kol's room instead of any of the others. Kol was the only openly gay guy in the frat. He jogged up the stairs to Kol's room and opened it. "Bells."

"Hey Em…" Bella said, blinking a few times.

"My room is two doors down to the left." Emmett said with a laugh. "Come on," he said, and helped her up.

Bella was starting to feel her legs more, and she was able to walk more by herself. "I'm just going to go back to my dorm. I feel fine now." She muttered.

Emmett frowned. "It's super late."

"It's okay. I shouldn't impose more. I'm also not going to cockblock my brother." Bella pointed out.

Emmett laughed. "That's not important."

"I'll be fine. I'll see you later bro. Oh…tell Kol I'll give him his shirt back later." She said and wandered out of the room and down the stairs, carefully.

Emmett shook his head. Still laughing. Bella had started coming out of her shell, and it was nice to see her having fun now.

Bella left the frat and started towards her dorm. It was late, she knew, and her phone was probably still in the frat. She sighed, feeling too drunk to walk back inside to find it. She would look for it when she was sober. She stumbled down the sidewalk a little, her brain still a little foggy. She got almost to her dorm, when she was snatched from behind. She tried to scream, but a hand clamped over her mouth, preventing the sound from coming out. She was shoved against the wall of a building, in the shadows, her face pressed against the brick. Tears stung her eyes immediately, and she tried to struggle, but she wasn't strong enough. She felt the roughness of her assaulter's hands on her hips, pulling the string on her bikini, and it fell away, exposing her.

She felt something press against her thigh, and it was his hand shoving her legs apart. He didn't speak, just roughly manhandled, and then she felt the sharp pain of a cock being shoved inside her without any warning. She cried in pain against hand of her assaulter, and the pain and roughness caused her to pass out, slumping against the wall. That didn't bother him as he got her to the ground, the dead weight too much for him to hold up, and he continued to finish, with her unconscious on the ground on her stomach. It excited him more that she was unconscious and not fighting him. He groaned as he tightened and then he felt the tickle of his orgasm, and he slid out of her almost and his tip exploded against the outside of her folds.

"Shit." He groaned, pressing his tip firmly to her and watching the white strings erupt. He looked around as he pulled his pants up, and then he took off into the night, leaving her there.

Bella woke up, on the ground, the night sky still overhead. She felt the pain between her legs, and she realized what happened. She scrambled to her feet, seeing her bathing suit bottoms on the ground next to her. She panicked, pulling them on and tying them, her fingers shaking. She felt the constriction in her chest, and she didn't want to have an anxiety attack right now. She needed to get back to her dorm. She needed to do something. She stumbled from the shadows and rushed down the sidewalk, and ran into someone, and it startled her and she yelped.

"Hey, easy." The voice was familiar to her. It was Alaric Saltzman. His hands steadied her.

"I, um." She looked around, behind her, and then her eyes met Alaric's.

Alaric frowned. Bella's eyes were wild with fear. She was shaking violently, and it was clear that something had happened to her, by the redness on her cheek. "Bella, something happened?"

"I don't…I uh, I…" her voice trembled.

"Were you assaulted just now?"

"I don't know…how long I was out. He rushed me…from behind. I don't know." Tears started falling.

Alaric cursed. "Let me call security." He said, pulling his phone from his pocket. "Where were you assaulted?"

Bella wiped at her face, her hands still shaking. She motioned over towards the building behind her. She started sobbing, and her legs started buckling, but Alaric wrapped his arm around her, catching her before she could fall to the ground.

"Rudy, can you send someone out towards the Brown building. A student has been assaulted." Alaric relayed. "Call, an ambulance." He said and then he hung up, wrapping his arms around her, and going to the ground with her, as she shook, sobs wrenching through her.

Rudy made it to the scene, the flashing lights of campus security, and then the lights of the ambulance rolled in. Rudy started looking around the scene, with a few of his men.

An EMT approached Bella and Alaric. "There was an assault?"

"Yeah, she's a student. Freshman." Alaric relayed. "Bella Cullen." He supplied her name.

The EMT nodded and crouched down. She was young, and nice. "Hey there. Let's get you over to my bus over here and get you checked out. Looks like your cheek is bruised pretty bad." She said and helped Bella up, towards the ambulance.

A police car pulled up, and a guy got out, his hair was dark like the night, and his eyes were a piercing blue. His partner got out on the other side, and he was tall, brawnier than the other one, and his hair was a darker blonde, curled slightly on his head, and his eyes were a blue-green color. They approached Alaric.

"Hey Ric," the tall dark-haired man said. "What happened? And is there a frat party still running?" He motioned back towards the frat house, where lights were still going, and music could be heard.

"Hey Damon. Yeah, that's where she was coming from, I think. She's a good student so far. We've been in session a week." Alaric relayed.

Damon nodded. "Did she say anything?"

"I think she's frazzled." Alaric said, pushing a hand through his hair.

Damon looked over at his partner. "Klaus, go ahead and question her. I'll take a look around, talk to Rudy." He said and Klaus nodded.

Klaus walked over to the ambulance. He looked at Bella, her hair was messy, she was wearing a dark shirt, that had a vague indie band on it, and she wasn't wearing pants. "Hello, I'm Detective Mikaelson." Klaus introduced; his voice lilted with his English accent from his time in London.

"Like Professor Mikaelson?" Bella murmured, blinking, tears still rolling down her face.

"He's, my brother." Klaus said with a nod. "Can you tell me what happened?"

Bella wiped her face, her hand shaking. "Um." She was sobering really fast, after everything that happened. "I was coming back to my dorm, and I was rushed from behind. He…he covered my mouth with his hand tight, and I couldn't open my mouth or say anything." She paused, wiping her face again.

Klaus reached in his pocket and pulled out a handkerchief and handed it to her. "Take your time, love. Step by step." He said, writing in a small notepad what she was telling him.

She took the handkerchief and wiped at her face. "He shoved me against he brick wall, pressing my face into the brick." She said, touching her cheek. "His hands were rough, and he untied my bathing suit bottoms," her voice cracked, and she looked down.

It dawned on Klaus that this was a sexual assault and that made him sick in his gut. "Oh no." He murmured, and squatted down and looked up at her. "Hey. You don't have to talk about this right now, if you're not ready. We should get you to the hospital and checked out first."

"No no, um. I need to say this, get it all out, while I'm remembering." She wiped her face again. "He was really strong. He forced my legs apart, and then he uh…raped me. I passed out, the pain." She said, her voice vibrating with sobs.

Klaus closed his eyes, sighing, and standing. He looked over towards Damon, who was talking to Rudy and Alaric. He looked back at the EMT. "Take her to the hospital." Then he looked at Bella. "Get a rape kit done. Listen, do you know…if he used protection?"

"He didn't. At least I don't think so…there's uh, fluid…down there." She squeaked out.

Klaus nodded, swallowing. "Okay. We'll get all the evidence collected. Are you comfortable with a rape kit?"

"Yeah." She said, her voice tired.

"Okay. Go to the hospital. I'll meet you up there love." He said and then nodded to the EMT, and walked away, going over towards Damon and Alaric.

"Anything?" Damon asked.

"She was sexually assaulted. Raped." Klaus said, his voice wavering a bit.

Alaric covered his mouth with his hand. "She didn't say anything…" he murmured.

Damon shook his head. "This is fucked." He blew out a breath and looked at Rudy. "Let's go shut the frat party down. We need to question some people." He said and looked at Alaric. "Alert the Dean."

Alaric nodded, taking his cellphone out and called Dean Lockwood.

Damon, Klaus, and Rudy drove over to the frathouse, hitting their siren as a warning, and students started scattering.

"Nope. Hold it." Rudy said over the megaphone. "Everyone stay put. You run, we will find you." He said, and students froze, standing around, looking at each other.

Damon and Klaus got out of their cars, their badges hooked to their hip. They walked into the house. "Turn that off." Damon raised his voice, pointing over at the stereo. A student complied, shutting off the music. "Thank you." He looked around the room. "We have a few questions for you guys. Line up."

Students started stumbling into a line. Many were intoxicated, so this was going to be a long night.

The questioning began, just general questions about their whereabouts over the past couple hours.

Emmett jogged down the stairs, hearing everything going on. "What's going on?" He asked.

Damon looked over at him. "Name?"

"Emmett Cullen." He said.

Damon frowned. "Are you related to Bella?"

"She's my little sister." Emmett said confused.

"Shit." Damon grabbed his arm, and guided him outside, out of earshot of everyone in the frathouse, but that only got a bunch of whispers. "Your sister is on her way to the hospital."

"What? What happened, is she okay?" Emmett's chest tightened.

"She was assaulted tonight. Listen, calm down." Damon put a hand on his arm, to keep him from running off.

Emmett shook his head. "I should have convinced her to just stay. She said she was fine, that she was just going back to the dorm. God, is she okay? How bad is the assault?"

Jasper wandered outside now. "Em, what's going on man?"

Emmett looked at Jasper. "Bella, she was assaulted man."

"What?" Jasper looked at Damon. "Jasper Cullen."

"You're both her brothers?" Damon asked.

"Yeah, and Edward, but he skipped out a few hours ago, to take Care back to her dorm." Jasper said. "Alice is still inside. Jesus. Is she okay?"

Damon sighed. "How much was your sister drinking?"

"I was upstairs for most of the night." Jasper said. "I have a paper. I came downstairs briefly, to see Edward leaving with Care."

Emmett frowned. "She was really hammered earlier in the night I think. She passed out on Kol's bed earlier, and Kol came and got me when she woke up. How bad is she, why aren't you telling us anything?" Emmett was angry, emotional.

"She's coherent. I'm not at liberty to discuss certain details of the assault. I'm trying to create a timeline. Was anyone acting strange at the party?" Damon asked.

"That's bullshit. I need to get to the hospital. Call mom and dad." Emmett ran a hand through his hair.

"I understand, but right now, I need to figure out who assaulted your sister." Damon's voice was stern.

Jasper looked at Emmett. "Em, I'll go to the hospital. I'm sober, I can drive. Stay and answer the detective's questions. You were downstairs during the party, you know more than me. I'll make sure she's okay."

Emmett nodded, taking the compromise. "Okay." He fist bumped Jasper and looked back at Damon. "I don't know too much. No one was actually unusual." He said and glanced up to Edward walking back up. "Eddie!"

Edward frowned, looking around. "Party getting busted?"

Damon looked at Edward. "Are you a brother?"

"Huh?"

"Bella's brother."

"I am. Younger." Edward said and looked at Emmett, swallowing. "What's wrong?"

"She was assaulted man." Emmett relayed.

Edward shook his head. "Why? What? Where is she now?" He was oddly calmer than Emmett and Jasper, but he looked at Damon.

Damon studied Edward. "At the hospital. Can you tell me if you noticed anything strange?"

Edward shook his head. "I mean, no? I wasn't paying too much attention. I was…with Caroline." He looked at Emmett. "Did you call mom and dad?"

"Jasper is on the way to the hospital now." Emmett relayed.

Damon sighed. "Okay, well, if you think of anything, call me." He handed Emmett and Edward both a card. He walked back inside the frat house.

At the hospital, Bella, went through the kit, and exam. She was feeling sort of numb, laying there. Klaus returned after she got situated in the bed. "Hey," Klaus said, lamely.

"Hi. Thank you." Bella said, and a couple tears sprang loose. "I don't…want this to be…. known. I don't want my family to worry."

"Your brother is on his way up here. Jasper." Klaus relayed.

Bella sighed. "Don't tell him anything. I want to handle this myself. I just…don't want to be that girl. The one that gets too drunk and taken advantage of."

Klaus nodded. "We wouldn't say anything without your permission. They just know you were assaulted." He said, and offered a little smile. "I've got all the evidence being shipped to the lab here. I'll keep in contact and let you know what we find, okay?"

Bella nodded. "Thank you." She said and the door opened, and Jasper walked in. "Jazz."

"Bells. Are you okay? Detective Salvatore said you were assaulted." He noticed the bruise on her cheek.

"Yeah, someone just roughed me up. I'm okay." She gave him a smile. "This was just the procedure."

The doctor walked in. "Okay Miss Cullen, I'm going to release you for now. Go home, rest." She said, and looked at Klaus. "Detective." She motioned outside.

Jasper watched the doctor leave with the detective and then looked back at Bella. "Are you sure you're, okay?"

"Yeah." Bella said with a smile. The doctor had already given her a plan b pill, and some antivirals. They did some testing for STDs, and those results would come back later. She was nervous about it all, but she was just going to try and move past it. It was her fault for getting so drunk in the first place.

"I called mom and dad." Jasper said.

"What? Why?" Bella frowned. "Call them and tell them I'm okay. It wasn't that big of a deal."

Jasper sighed and took his phone out, dialing Carlisle's number. "Hey, I'm here at the hospital. She's okay. Just some bruises." He paused. "Yeah, tell mom not to worry so much. I'll take care of her." He said and then hung up. He sighed. "Bells, you should have stayed at the frat. You could have crashed in my room."

"I know. I just didn't want to be in the way." She said offering a smile. The doctor came, in with some papers. Bella signed them.

Klaus returned, carrying a set of sweats. "Here. These are just something to put on. Your other clothes…"

Bella nodded. "Yeah. Thank you." She looked at Jasper. "I'm okay. I'll get dressed and then, can you take me back to my dorm?"

Jasper nodded, and left the room.

When they got back to the dorm it was three in the morning. Jasper got her all the way up to her room. "Okay, get some rest." He said and hugged her gently. "Love you sis."

"Love you too Jazz. Thank you." She murmured and then she plopped down on her bed. Caroline, Elena, and Alice were worried about her. "I'm fine guys." She said. "Just a bruise." She said and laid back.

"I'm sorry. I should have had hung around, and then Edward could have walked both of us back." Caroline apologized.

"It's fine. I'm fine. Let's just get some sleep." Bella said, rolling on her side. She shut her eyes, willing sleep to come over her.
