Knuckles hit the rock muttering, "why? why couldn't I just admit it" he cursed,
"Knuckles look out!" Tails screamed, before whatever it where exploded, and taking Knuckles away with it.
"Damn it!" Tails cursed looking around before starting at the machine. "parallel reality?" he asked starring at what the writing stated. "this machine takes you to a parallel reality, now that is a bit far off from what I where trying to make?" he asked again, before scratching his head,
"how the hell am I supposed to get Knuckles back?" Tails cursed, before taking the small machine back with him to the lab.
Somewhere else
Knuckles landed rather harshly on the ground, "what the?" a familiar voice to his own but a bit deeper, said. "what happen now" he cursed, and Knuckles sat up blinking, as he thought he saw himself well somewhat.
this Knuckles thought seem very different from the one himself and are used to, he is almost as tall as the Sonic he is used to but have a more lean build, thinner arms, broad chest and shoulders still showing some strength, then himself. His quills are longer as well, and his eyes are an aquatic blue color instead of purple, the same red fur and white crescent moon form on his chest and tanned muzzle.
He is wearing a pair of white somewhat boxing-gloves, with sock like cuffs. His shoes seem armor like in a dark red with grey parts and soles, yet the cuffs are a mostly green color ending somewhat halfway to his knees.
"err, hello?" Knuckles said,
"who are you?" the other echidna asked,
"I'm Knuckles" Knuckles said, and the other one ground,
"dimensions, reality damn it I thought we had gotten passed that" the other one cursed, confusing Knuckles, "come on, let's get you to big-Blue, he should know how to get you back home" the other one said.
"who are you?" Knuckles asked. "I'm Knuckles the Echidna of this world, and you seem to be the Knuckles of another world" s-Knuckles stated blandly. "Hope big blue is in the mystic ruins. Or at least that Tails are there" Knuckles said before he pulled boom-Knuckles along.
Later...
Knuckles stared at the building, it looks somewhat like a house and an stone ruin mix, rather exotic really, while next door looked like a grounded-space station out of a sf movie, but the modern building where attached as if the basement of the old one. While Knuckles hit the door hard.
"Come on, Sonic Open UP!" Knuckles screamed. 'well he seem more temperamental?' Knuckles thought, 'wait did he say Sonic?' Knuckles thought with wide eyes.
The door open up to show Tails or this worlds Tails, who yawned, "it's to early for this, Knuck" Tails complained his voice far younger then the one Knuckles know. he looks so much younger then the others in their gang, so it makes him younger then his friends being around 7 possible 8 years old and tiny... But other than that they are quite similar as if they were brothers. This Tails have the same golden fur, white muzzle and white chest and stomach fur. His ears are sharper and slightly longer, going over to a white color with having black tips. He also have two tails, one third of them being white before having a black tip at the end of them, he also have a similar vibrant crystal blue eyes. This Tails is currently only wearing a pair of elbow high brown gloves, with black rings around the wrists.
"Kit!" where heard form a velvet like voice, "Tails what are you doing out of bed, you have not even slept for 6 hours yet, and you still have that fever" a blue hedgehog said before lifting Tails up,
"Sonic" Tails whined, and twisted a little in the grip.
"the kit is sick?" the other Knuckles asked faintly worried, and this Sonic nodded with a sight.
Knuckles gaped for a moment as Sonic came into the door. he look extremly similar to the one Knuckles knew, even similar height, but this Sonic is ever so slightly shorter, but considering that everyone here seem to be an dm or so shorter, it is most likely only a height difference between the two worlds, yet there are some clear differences making the two look more like brothers then the same person...
this Sonic have green eyes yet more vibrant, more gem like, stronger and almost seem to glow and shimmer, with slited pupils, a thin black line decorate the outer corner of his eyes and ending in a sharp point at the sides, giving an Mobigypt(Egyptian) feel to it, but you can also see discreet fangs with his soft smile, as Tails had curled up sleeping soundly against his chest ears twitching as the fox listen to Sonic's heartbeat. And Knuckles knows the Sonic he knows don't have fangs... the ears are also slightly longer and thinner.
Long slim legs and arms, thin waist and hips, a broad chest, giving an streamline athletic feel, yet shows the streamline feel of speed with a touch of power, making him seem as a whole rather hot due to the rather perfect well trained slimed figure (instead of the Sonic he knows thin and somewhat lanky, awkward teen like form).
This Sonic's back quills curves slightly more, and his head quills are far longer ending at his waist curving back and down into 6 deathly spikes, two on either side and two in the middle, while seeming far neater. His fur is darker in a shade of dark navy blue, a round spot on his chest and bit of stomach and chest yet the fur is a bit longer and thicker, in a soft peach color with his muzzle being the same color but then things starts differ even more, his arms are also the same soft peach from hand reaching his shoulders.
markings also decorate his form, from the over side of his on the arms in an impression of tribal like flames and winds, ending at his elbows, but they also tips his head-quills, with two more solid lines in similar feel going up the middle-over quill to his forehead before stopping. The markings on his arms are a more silver like tone barely visible against the peach color, while the ones on his quills are a slight lighter navy-blue then his dark fur making the markings next to invisible depending on the light.
The cloths this Sonic is wearing is also very different from the one they are used to. He is wearing a pair of short red leather padded sneaker-boots, coated with white metal-parts and golden claps. But he also have two black-silver rings around the ankles, over the boots. He a pair of white gloves, but have two more black-silver rings around either wrist.
Around his neck is a leather and metal armor a shoulder-neck-guard, protecting his shoulders, and neck but also works as sleek decoration, with its silver and black color. Around his neck is three choker-like necklaces, with several layers, mostly in black and gold, the middle one having a green crystal of some sort in the middle, and them all having a wing like form, yet when you looks closer you can see the advance technology on them.
Knuckles where a bit confused, but also noted that this Sonic seem so far more cheerful and caring. "did not know you had a brother, Rad-Red?" Sonic asked a bit confused.
"he's not my brother, Big-Blue but the me form a different world, most likely" Knuckles said, "so fix it" he finished before leaving, making Sonic give out a sight, before looking at Knuckles.
"Sorry about, err, well this Knuckle is rather temperamental" Sonic said with a shrug and easy going smile "come in" he said.

Knuckles looked around, and could not help but the feeling that it felt more as a solid home, but the furniture, items and all of that seem to be from all over the world, giving the air of a traveler... then the vacation house feel that the Sonic he knows have.
"I guess your name is Knuckles the Echidna then, and that you know the counterpart to me from your world?" Sonic asked and Knuckles nodded.
"yeah, but all here seem so shorter, then what I am used to, and this Tails is tiny" Knuckles said,
"really? Both me, Knuck and Shadow are actually slightly taller then the average for this world, and I guess your Tail's is older" Sonic said amused.
"older?" Knuckles asked,
"well the kit is only 7, won't turn 8 years old until 4 months from now" Sonic said waving his hand before putting Tails at the sofa, and got a blanket over him.
"oh? Well yeah, older, then" Knuckles said thinking,
"around 13, to 14 I think" he finished.
"when I think of it, you seem also younger" Sonic stated.
Knuckles shrugged, "don't know about that" he responded.
"so how did you end up here, in this world?" Sonic asked a bit amused.
"well my Tails, where making something, it gave out allot of energy and bright light then I landed here" Knuckles explained. 'more innocent then?' Sonic thought.
Sonic gave a chuckle, "well my Tail's is currently sick, but I guess yours is already working on a way to get you back if not, at least to communicate..." Sonic said and trailed off. "do you know how the machine looks like?" he asked and Knuckles nodded,
"yeah, why?" he asked.
"hmm, just wondering if my Tails have made something similar or the same machine, it might help find a way to send you back" Sonic mused, before giving a yawn.
"tired?" Knuckles asked,
"physically no, not gonna happen, have too much chaos energy for that. mentally thought a bit exhausted, as Tails is a pain when sick" Sonic snorted the no part. "want something to drink I do believe I have coke, milk and warm chocolate, at the moment have not gotten the chance to fill the fridge yet" Sonic asked,
"coke would be nice" Knuckles said with a smile, making Sonic pause and stare before vanishing from sight, as if wind.
"Whoa" Knuckles gasped, and Sonic walked back into the living room, a few seconds later " you are far faster then the Sonic I know, he have never moved in that way before... its as if you vanished. All I saw where wind" Knuckles said, and Sonic seem far more amused, and laughed.
Giving the coke to Knuckles, "you can stay here until we find a way to send you back home" Sonic said sitting back down.
"so how different am I from the Sonic you know, beside the translated name?" Sonic asked.
"translated name?" Knuckles asked,
"well yeah, common-mobia is not my first or even second languish, its my third, and Sonic the Hedgehog is only a translation, well its real full translation is Sonic'wind the Hedgehog but I never use that" Sonic shrugged.
"uh? So what is your home languish, as the one I know speaks common-mobia as his first, and what is your real name?" Knuckles asked, making Sonic blink,
"uh, chaotican being my first, I learned ancient-echidna from Crimson, the father of this worlds Knuckles, before he where born I where rather young back then to thought, left Angel island before his birth. To travel, I don't even know where Crimson vanished off to thought. I did not really speak, common-mobia even if I understood it, still don't really speak it, until my Tails, made this necklace who translates what I say or preferred to use sign languish" Sonic explained with a lopsided grin.
"and my name in the chaotican is Solfnrd zih Nhim" Sonic shrugged at the confused expression, before Knuckles shook his head.
"I don't even know how to say that" he stated,
"and that's why I use a translation instead" Sonic grinned amused.
"well my Sonic, is for one slightly taller, and lankier? His figure is not as well developed more in that teen awkward stage, and his quills are shorter but also messier, shorter ears as well, not as thin and eyes are a bit duller" Knuckles said trying to find the right words.
"you also seem more predatory, the arms are also blue on him and he don't have those markings?" Knuckles asked more then said.
"I guess your worlds Sonic is a normal super, then? did not expect that, the arms also are a surprise" Sonic mused.
"what?" Knuckles asked.
"there exist several different kinds of mobinas even in similar, from the bird mobians, to the Babylonian bird mobians, have both differences from each other. My fangs, the retractable claws, the thin pointy ears, fangs, and slited eyes, who do actually really glow so you are not imagining that, and markings are common traits of chaos-mobian-hedgehog as my kind where called even if the traits are faint and not that really notable... while a normal hedgehog mobian have shorter and not as thin ears, no real fangs of a predator, or claws that can cut thru rock, also lacks the slited eyes and night vision, not only the chaos energy core inside of my body, normal mobians don't really have that, even if they are supers, not in the same way as me at least" Sonic explained with a soft smile, and a sorrow full gaze.
"so any personality differences, as I can see that Red and you are very difference and that is not your more bulky form, you seem more how should I put it more innocent perhaps" Sonic asked tilting his head and folded one ear cutely... making Knuckles blush as Sonic's eyes seemingly lighting up, in curiosity.
"well you seem more open, and cheerful, you're eyes also seem more intelligent? And flow with more power?" Knuckles said musing a little.
"the Sonic I know, is very blunt, can't lie at all really, and sometime painfully honest, to the point of being rude at points and can get a bit grouchy, and grumpy" Knuckles said.
"whoa, that is some difference, I may seem a bit cocky and at times overconfident but due to my chaos-mobian status I have little to worry or be scared about, but not smiling that's Blasmany" Sonic said grinning making Knuckles laugh,
"so how is your personality, how would you describe yourself?" Knuckles asked, making Sonic blink and think.
"I'm a rather optimistic person, preferring to see the positive in things, but the best word for me is free-spirited, I'm like the wind, not liking to be stuck in one place for too long, being cooped up makes me feel twitchy and restless, so I'm always moving, living in the now, and rather carefree at times" Sonic explained. And Knuckles listened, closely.
"I know I'm kind, and can be rather ferocious at points, while freedom is the most important for me, I'm also highly protective, especially of little Tails" Sonic said, his grin settling down to a soft smile.
"I hate injustice, and evil, when I see some form of unjust, I prefer to try and fix it, whenever I can. And can be at points a thrill seeker. But I'm honest loyal to my friends, and don't like them to be hurt, even if what I say or do sometimes hurt them, I never mean for them to be hurt and prefer to explain as to why I say what I say or do afterwards. And I can be a gentleman and polite if I want, or the situation needs it. While I would also take any damage or even as they say risk my life for those I care about" Sonic explained then snorted.
"sadly they seem to forget that I can take one hell of a beating, that would and can kill anyone else, I have survived falls form highs that would make any normal mobian go splat and die. And is rather forgiving at times, and I rarely get serious, and normally never let the carefree attitude fall" he explained.
"my carefree attitude and free spirited nature helps me move along so I'm always in the now so I never really dwells on the past, or feels regret for it something I'm thankful due to all I have been thru. I never really let my carefree attitude down, unless something really dire have happen and I do truly look forward to the next adventure" Sonic cheered.
"do you ever doubt yourself, or show of your intelligence?" Knuckles asked, and Sonic shook his head a bit surprised.
"no, I don't have doubt on myself and I never give up, or willingly submitting to darkness, even if the world is on the brink of destruction, and I'm surprised that you noticed the intelligence, my knowledge and insight is something most don't see or I even let out in an obvious way" Sonic grinned.
"I have no problem of noticing things others ignore or can't see, giving advice on things and have a knack for changing others to the better. Even if I don't like titles" Sonic explained, before Knuckles started to explain how the Sonic he knows is like, and Sonic could not help but to surprise by the drastic personality differences, with several similarities but also several very clear differences.
'we would seem more like brothers ' he thought
/ days later
Sonic shook his head "come on, I have something to show you" Sonic said,
"what about Tails?" Knuckles asked,
"He'll not notice that we are gone, until lunch and I have a note about that lunch and dinner is finished in the fridge, if we don't get back before then. the kit may be young, but I trust he can handle one day without me being here, and all he need to do is warm up the food, the only thing that worries me is that I hope he don't forget to eat" Sonic responded,
"Okay then" Knuckles said.
Knuckles gave a yelp as Sonic lifted him up with ease, before running off, stopping only as they arrived to the location. "wow" Knuckles whispered out.
"you mentioned that you like nature, this is one of the best places I know of" Sonic said grinning, and lifting his arms to the sides, as if to show of the place. "the meadows around here are most all like this if not better" Sonic's eyes shone.
Putting his hand thru his quills before he pulled something out, 'how, were?" Knuckles asked truly confused as to how that blanket and basket fit.
"Pocket space, I can store thing in a personal space, as if a pocket, so there are not actually among my quills, it's just how I reach into the pocket" Sonic shrugged, taping a finger against his mouth, as in keep it quite.
"you know calling you Knuckles and the other knuckles the same name is getting quite confusing" Sonic stated.
"so?" Knuckles asked,
"can I call you, Red or perhaps Pryckils?" Sonic asked,
"pry-what?" Knuckles asked, making Sonic chuckle,
"it's your name in my home languish" Sonic stated with a charming smile, making Knuckles blush but nodded.
The day went wonderful before they got back to Sonic's house. 'do I like him? I know I like the Sonic from my world but I seem to like this one even more then him?' Knuckles thought, having been there for two months already. The two Tails are getting better, but it where still, only halfway there in order to send him back.
A week later
"hey Knuckles!" Tiny Tails called out coming into the living room, to see Sonic teach Knuckles the difference between reading ancient echidna and common-mobia.
"we can get you back home now" Tails said, and Sonic went stiff, but he quickly hid the frown that where going to form. 'he is going home, then, well this is not his world after all' Sonic thought.
"that's great, your friends are most likely missing you" Sonic said but the smile to Tails seem to be a bit fake.
"yeah" Knuckles said slowly, 'but I like it better here' he thought. A little later, Sonic gave out a sight, putting a note in Knuckles hand before giving a wave as Knuckles where sent back and the place he stood on lit up.
"Knuckles you're finally back" Amy said glad to have her friend back,
"we missed you bud" the taller Sonic said, which only caused his heard to ache,
"yeah... glad to be home" Knuckles said, and some of them noticed something off.
"hey what are you holding, a letter from outer space?" Sticks asked, making Knuckles blink, before opening the folded note. His eyes widen as he read the three words in his home languish, the one he can actually read.
'Sonic' Knuckles thought a bit depressed.

a few weeks later
Sonic where lying in his bed reading, trying to get his thoughts on something else... *you... like he... don't you?* Tails asked, in a bit fractured chaotican, making Sonic openly stare at him in disbelief.
*I don't know how or even where you learned to speak my home languish but yeah, I badly miss big red* Sonic said responding in kind, his ears folded down a bit depressed.
"Come Sonic I have something to show you" Tails said before dragon Sonic into the lab to the computer. A few seconds later the screen lit up and showed two worlds, and allot of writing, confusing Sonic a little.
"Care to explain?" Sonic asked.
"well this is our world, and this is the parallel world, they are closely linked hell there should even be places who are the same, or rather the exact same place in both worlds, regardless of which you travel from" Tails said and Sonic's eyes widen.
"for real?" Sonic asked, in disbelief, "yeah, that where we ended up with the break thru in the first place, honestly you should be able to chaos control back and forth this world and that one with ease, no harm for either world, as we are the same dimension, just slightly separated" Tails said.
"chaos. portals between the two open up at random all the time, you could possible use power-rings to get between the two worlds, with ease" Tails said, and Sonic went quiet.
Making a few hand-signs, "why the other world seem to be fractured?" Tails asked as he figured out what Sonic just said,
"err, well, it is only three continents, as if it got separated from ours centuries ago, that is why there where no harm in that larger Knuckles to be here for so long, the two Knuckles are as close as brothers as bests, so not exactly the name person, spirit mind or lifes" Tails mused.
"don't that mean that that separated world may fuse with ours eventually?" Sonic mused.
More to himself than anyone else "probably not" Tails said after thinking a little. "portals may become more stable thought in a few decades or so." Tails said after a while.
"hmm, I want to try, but I guess we need a chaos emerald first, or how many power rings?" Sonic wondered,
"one, but we have no clue if power rings exist on those three continents, or if chaos emeralds exist there" Tails finished.
"an emerald exist on windy island no?" he asked, "yeah" Tails said, "want to try cross the boundary between two worlds?" Sonic asked,
Tails nodded as it sank in, "YES!" he cheered. Taking his tool belt, "come on" Tails called out, making Sonic laugh, as he speed off.
Feeling the wind against his fur, before grabbing Tails, "hold on, I'm going to light dash" Sonic said making sure that his quills are relaxed and not sharpened, while Tails held onto him, and Sonic went to touch one ring before quickly moving thru the rings gathering them in the proses, each ring making him get faster and higher up. Before he landed on the ground of the island... his ears twitched as Sonic tried to locate the familiar chaos energy.
"do you know where it is?" Tail's asked, and Sonic grinned,
"yeah, this way" Sonic said running of in speed Tails could fly in. "well at least it where an easy find this time around" Sonic mused, as he stopped, "you can fly up there right?" Sonic called out,
"yeah, should not be much problem" Tails called out, carefully flying thru the winds, before reaching the cliff face where the emerald is and grabbed it.

Knuckles landed in water, as the last robot where destroyed, "well that takes care of this for the day" where heard, from Tails,
"I'll be back, brats!" Eggman screamed out before flying away.
"are you okay Knuckles?" Amy asked,
"yeah I'm fine" Knuckles said.
"you do appear to be a bit wet" velvet voice asked, after a green smoke cloud appeared,
"wha-?" Knuckles turned around only to gape, as the other worlds Sonic raised a hand, "Yo" he cheered, before putting a large gem thru his quills and seeming to vanish.
"So this is on the other side of that wall?" Tails asked, picking out from behind Sonic's back and quills.
"Wait how are you standing on the water?" Knuckles asked,
"Hover shoes" both tiny Tails and Sonic responded, and yes the shoes did seem to give out small winds, holding him shortly over the water.
"now here we go" Sonic said pulling Knuckles up, from the shallow water, then seemingly skating to the shore.
"who are you, an alien out to drink our brains?" Sticks asked holding the boomerang towards him and Sonic got a deadpanned expression.
"I don't think I have ever heard something that ridiculous in my life, and that's saying allot" he deadpanned, while tiny Tails giggled,
"now don't be rude against the paranoid lady, aniki" tiny Tails said, making Sonic roll his eyes as that comment where not much better.
"err can someone explain what's going on?" the just so slightly taller Sonic asked and Sonic chuckled.
"well I missed Big Red, and the kit found out some strange about our world and this worlds three continents" Sonic shook his head.
"I can come and go as I pleases with a simple chaos control, Tails thought think he can build a small machine that can teleport one form one side to the other" Sonic explained.
"what's wrong with this world?" Amy asked, and Sonic shivered at hearing her so eerily similar voice, 'right, she is calmer at least' Sonic thought taking a calming breath.
"nothing really except that portals between this one and the one me and Aniki is from open up all the times, there even exist places that exist in both, as in two people going from the two different worlds would meet on that location." Tiny Tails explained jumping down from Sonic's back.
"how cutie!" Amy squealed out, hugging tiny Tails and making both Sonics sight.
"please don't crush my kit" Sonic frowned, at her and Amy blushed as she let go of the small fox who hid behind Sonic's legs.
"Aniki means older brother in your home tongue right?" Knuckles asked thinking a little as Sonic nodded.
"so you came here just because you missed our Knuckles?" the older Tails asked,
"yep" Sonic said with a lopsided grin, taking them off guard at the random statement.
"you seem to smile more?" both older Tails, and Amy stated at the same time.
"yep, this Sonic is far more cheerful" Knuckles said with an nod.
"well at least you are easy to separate" Sticks said.
"that's because just because the two of us are counterparts then in this case we are not the same person, the closest would be brothers, we may have similar appearance, powers, and such but that's about it, me and him are not even the same species" Sonic shrugged.
"wait really?" Amy asked.
"so are you a blood-devover-mhmm" Sticks started to say, before a green bubble surrounded her head, preventing them from hearing her as Sonic seem to twitch, before bursting the bubble. Seeing the frown on his face made them all shiver, it seem so wrong, and the everything seem to darken as he frowned.
"Sonic?" Tiny Tails asked
"that idea seem even more insane then the first one I heard from you, please keep those paranoid ideas away from me, and don't do one about me" Sonic asked, his tone perfectly polite even a sugary smile but you could see the annoyance by the twitching ears and eye, making Sticks nod slowly, scarred out of her wits. While Sonic calmed down.
"as to what I am, I'm a chaos-mobian hedgehog, not a normal super or even a normal mobian hedgehog, there are some difference, my kind was more predatory for one, and where expects on chaos energy" Sonic shrugged,
"chaos energy like the chaos crystals?" Amy asked, making Sonic blink, before staring at the others.
'what?' he thought confused. Shaking his head, "did not the beomoth who destroyed my kind, ate them?, or perhaps a few none chaos emerald gems survived" Sonic mused, aloud before shaking his head.
"Pryckils you don't mind showing me around, this place?" Sonic asked with a grin,
"yes, I'll gladly show you around" Knuckles said.
While the taller Sonic just sat down on the beach, seemingly getting a headache, tiny Tails, pulled on older tails arm a little, "can you show me your lab? I want to know the differences?" tiny Tails asked, big eyes shining adorable.
"you don't mind keeping an eye on the kit right?" Sonic asked, and it where easy to tell that this Sonic acted as a worried, yet kind older brother, who truly do care for the little Tails and holds no reservation to showing it.
"yeah it's fine. Go and have some fun" older-Tails said, having noted that, Knuckles likes this Sonic, and this other Sonic seem to share those feelings, but It made him give a heartwarming smile,
"thanks and have some fun you as well " Sonic called, before Knuckles dragged him off to somewhere, neither could not be more happy.
