(AN) Hello and welcome to the prologue for my rewrite of Outbreak, my first ever NCIS story. I was unhappy with the original so I decided to create this rewrite. The story will mostly be the same with a few differences.

This story is set during Season 16, between the episodes Perinnial and Hail and Farewell.

Disclaimer; I don't own NCIS, all characters and locations are owned by CBS and Belisario Productions.

NCIS: Outbreak

Prologue

It was a cold, early morning in Washington. At the Navy Yard, two Security Guards stood outside the front entrance to NCIS HQ. One of the Guards turned to the other. "You board?" asked the Guard.

"Yeah, and cold," complained the other Guard, "I promised my wife I'd do something for our anniversary. She's going to kill me if I forget... again."

The first Guard just chuckled. "Don't worry man, just buy her flowers if she gets pissed at you," suggested the first Guard before noticing the awkward look on his friends face, "What? Lots of girls like flowers."

The two Guards jumped and raised their guns at the sound of screeching tires. A black sports car suddenly parked near the entrance which was followed by the door opening. A young, tall, dark haired man wearing a Navy uniform hopped out of the car. The man looked at the two bewildered guards in fear.

There was suddenly a loud bang, the man cried out in agony before dropping to the ground, dead, a pool of blood trickled around him.

The two Guards quickly ran over to the body when there were suddenly two more bangs which caused the men to look up and notice the bullet holes in their foreheads. The two men dropped to the ground, dead.

From out of the shadows, two figures in dark clothing and balaclavas approached the bodies. One of the figures was holding a gasoline canister, they began splashing the substance all over the car, once they were done, the second figure took out a match and a lighter, after lighting it, they threw the match at the car. The car went up in flames at once, orange flames dancing across the vehicle. The two figures then ran, abandoning the canister and throwing the gun aside.

(AN) And there's the prologue, I hope you all enjoyed.

So yeah, I felt this made for a better opening.

So next chapter, Gibbs and the team start their investigation.

Also once again, due to this story dealing with Anti-Vaxxers, any reviews defending Andrew Wakefield or spreading misinformation will not be tolerated or welcome in the review section, and will be deleted.

Until then, this is TimeLordMaster108 signing out.
