The sky had just started dimming as the blaring sun sunk behind the horizon to find slumber from the long early summers days it had just given life to. Randy had just pulled his, once pristine special edition, truck onto the road that held his destination as the view around him started to fill with a light pink and purple haze. The male squirrel slowed his automobile's speed down to far less that was even required for the upscale neighborhood as he looked around at the expensive houses and their beautiful landscaped yards. The late evening nights change in light made the usually breathtaking sight even more hypnotizing. He was happy his sister was now residing in such a nice area, and for a minute was happy to find himself in such nice place if even just for a moment.
He parked off to the left side of Static's large driveway. Randy had no idea why a man, who was only now, being a new family man needed a four-car garage and a driveway that could easily hold another six vehicles, but after interacting with more than a few in the Electro family for some time in the past their need for living a lavish lifestyle was an understatement. Static was, shockingly, one of the less over the top spenders in his family despite that fact he was likely the biggest show off. Although, Randy was sure his sister had put the breaks on much of the man's excess, as she wasn't the type to go over the top on much besides her work, and now children. Static was the most pussy whipped man he'd ever come across, and he had been her loyal subject even long before they had become an item.
Randy chuckled to himself as he recalled the other man following Sandy around hopelessly for so long and her completely unaware of his real intentions. He was truly happy for both of them now that their wedding day was finally looming only days away. He never cared much for his sister's first husband when they were married, but Randy now found himself having a soft spot for Shadow, as the man had been humbled after losing such an amazing woman. Luckily, he had always liked Static. The purple furred male had always been out going and cunning. He was what Randy always wished he could have achieved in his adult years, but unfortunately found himself falling very short of. At least the two young male squirrels got along well enough, and Randy knew he'd always be welcome in their home... even if Randy tried his hardest to avoid the Chicago area they lived in for past personal reasons.
Randy left his bags, and the wedding gift in the back of his extended crew cab, as he stretched from the long days drive. He'd been on the road for just over 14 hours after a short stent of sleep at a rest stop. He'd driving up from Miami where he was currently working off shore on an oil rig. He took off two weeks early from his three-month rotation, so he could make it to his twin sister's second wedding. He knew this one would be her final nuptials and wouldn't be able to forgive himself if he hadn't taken part in it... even if the idea of interacting with a few of the other guests would cause him extra trauma for a long time to come. He was a grown man, and could put up with a little more emotional pain to be there and support the most important person in his life.
Randy smiled a bit as he knocked on the front door before looking back at the setting sun. The door opened and he was dragging into a tight hug before he had time to look back at his assailant. He hugged his sister back and kissed her forehead right before she picked him up slightly, likely to show she thought she was still in better shape than him. Once she finally let his feet touch the ground again he picked her up in a hug in the same manor and they both laughed at one another as they rubbed the fur on the top of each other's head.
"It's so good ta see ya, Randy!" Sandy smiled and hugged him tightly again. "I'm really glad ya could make it."
Randy hugged her back and then fake punched her shoulder as they both still stood out on the front porch with the front door wide open. "How could I miss one of mah little sister's weddings?!" Randy then stuck his tongue out at her as she gave him a scowl that disappeared off her face just as fast at it had shown up. Sandy was born a good 30 minutes before Randy, but the male liked to pick on her and call her his little sister as he had a whole half inch of height on her.
"Come on." Sandy grabbed his arm happily and dragged him inside before closing the door by kicking it closed behind her with her foot. "We've all been waiting fer ya ta arrive. I got some dinner still warm on da table with yer name on it."
"Damn!" Randy laughed as felt a small thrill having his sister drag him around again after so long. "I need ta come visit y'all more often!"
