A/N: Woah….hey kids. It's been a while since I've posted a one-shot to this fandom.

This is a funny one, at least I think it is.

Enjoy!

OoOoOoO

Po might have been relatively new to the Jade Palace, but he was observant.

After almost six months of regular training, eating, and meditating with his comrades, he had gotten to know them pretty well. He knew what meals they liked, how they chose to train on free days, which hobbies they took up.

But there was a mystery he still had yet to solve.

At least once a month, Monkey or Mantis would enter the kitchen for breakfast with a new, random injury. Of course, they trained together. Po knew that they inevitably would get hurt during the process. But, the injuries weren't caused by that. They were acquired overnight after the others had gone to bed.

And he was the only one who noticed it.

"Po-"

He jerked up from the scroll he had been absentmindedly looking at. Tigress was looking at him expectedly, paw outstretched and another scroll in hand. They had been given the task of cleaning the scroll room, as the rest of the palace hustled around to prepare for spring. For the next three days, the Furious Five would be cleaning every part of the Jade palace.

He had taken the scroll room excitedly, but now he was regretting the choice.

"Focus."

He took the scroll from her with a nod. Whether it was his silence that tipped her off, or his distracted gaze, he didn't know. She paused in her work and descended the ladder.

"If you'd like to do this alone-"

"No!" He was too quick to squeak out. When he finally looked at her, she was smirking at him. "Oh you're teasing."

"What is it? You've been distracted all morning." She grabbed a box and he tipped the scrolls that were in his arms into the box so they could dust the shelf.

"It's just-" He huffed, "I've noticed Monkey and Mantis coming into the kitchen with weird injuries. You know what that's about?"

She paused in her ascent up the ladder. For a moment, it was quiet. And then, something happened.

She laughed.

Not loudly, just a low chuckle that was so uncharacteristically her that it made Po do a double take.

"Okay, so something's wrong with Master Tigress." He muttered to himself.

"A few years ago, the boys made a bet." She moved up the ladder again and began dusting the empty shelf. "Not really sure how it started, but whoever is able to steal the morning gong gets out of nightly cleaning duty for a month. Shifu being Shifu, they've never come close."

"So that's how they get hurt?"

"Nah," She shook her head and came back down to ground level, "They get hurt because Shifu makes them do sparring every time he catches them."

"Why didn't Crane or Viper get involved?"

"Viper thinks it's childish, Crane thinks it isn't worth the effort."

"And you?"

"I agree with both." She took the box of scrolls from him with a shrug and began putting the scrolls back onto the shelf.

"Hm-"

"Po," He jerked his head up to look at her. There was a scowl on her face, "don't even think about it."

If two kung fu masters couldn't steal the gong, then how could he? The small voice at the back of his head told him that he probably could if he really wanted to.

He continued helping her until late afternoon, mind reeling as he did so.

Po opened the windows in the kitchen, letting in the cool breeze of spring.

He had done his best over the last two weeks to maintain the cleaning they had done in the kitchen, but that didn't stop the wok from needing a thorough cleaning. He had gotten up early, so he might as well get to scrubbing it while the others were still asleep.

He started up a pot of tea and then began cleaning. The work itself was easy, and only occupied his hands. After the wok was finished, he took up the task of wiping down the counters and table.

"You're up early." Viper had come in with a wide yawn, and she slithered her way up the table legs.

"Couldn't sleep." He finished and poured her a mug of tea, to which she responded with a grateful dip of her head.

"Oh ho!" He turned at her exclamation, and watched as the boys came into the kitchen. "Foiled again boys?"

"I don't even know how he saw us coming so easily." Monkey was staring wide-eyed at some point in the distance. He plopped into a chair heavily. There was a good cut above his eye. His tail twitched in exhaustion.

"We were so quiet." Mantis finished.

"I'll go get the first aid kit." Viper shook her head and departed from the room.

"What did you try this time?"

"We tried slipping sleep pills into his tea…"

"You WHAT?"

"Of course he didn't drink it." Mantis finished, his gaze haunted. "He somehow knew."

Viper returned with the first aid kit and began helping the boys to patch themselves up. As she did so, in came Tigress, who only acknowledged the pair with a raised eyebrow.

"Maybe you guys should just give up." Viper muttered.

"Why would we do that?" Monkey cried incredulously. "We're in too deep. We can't let him win."

Po snickered to himself. An exasperated look was passed between the girls.

Suddenly, the door to the kitchen flew open, and standing there was Crane with ruffled feathers and a shocked sort of look on his face.

"What did you guys do?!"

""We didn't-"

"SHifu is out there LOSING HIS MIND!" Crane interrupted, glaring at Mantis. "How did you get the gong?!"

"We didn't!" Monkey cried. "He caught us before we could."

"Well it's missing, so obviously somebody got it!"

"Oh boy." Viper replied softly "Maybe we should go calm him down?"

"Not me. I'm hiding. In the woods." Mantis muttered to himself as Crane and Viper exited out the open door.

"Far away." Monkey finished.

Tigress watched as they skittered away from the table, hiding her smile behind her cup. For a moment after they left, there was silence in the kitchen.

"How did you do it?" She finally asked. Po, unable to keep his composure any longer, doubled over in laughter.

"Waited till Shifu was beating the crap out of them and then I took the gong off the beams so it wouldn't make any noise." The explanation sent him laughing again, tears welling up at the corner of his eyes. "I hid it in Shifu's room."

Finally, her composure broke and she laughed quietly. "Well done, Dragon Warrior."

"Stealth mode-"
