Author's Notes:

Follows Dot's Perspective

Dot is sitting on the couch watching a movie. Not just any movie mind you, it's Mad Max. The movie stars her favorite actor, Mel Gibson.

"Oh Mel, your Australian accent is so dreamy!" She sighs, staring lovingly at the T.V.

She wishes that Yakko were here to watch it with her, Mad Max is one of the few Mel Gibson movies that he actually likes. Too bad he's in a meeting with Mr. Plotz right now.

Dot remembers asking him why Mr. Plotz wanted to see him so late in the night.

"Something about needing my help to change the script for tomorrow's episode. Apparently one of the jokes was too 'adult' for the censors." Yakko had said, rolling his eyes at the word 'adult'.

"Good luck with that!" Dot told him. Yakko chuckled at that while bringing her into an almost bone crushing hug.

"Are ya sure you can handle Wakko while I'm gone?" He asks.

Dot scoffs, "What's the worst that he can do? Eat stuff in his sleep? C'mon Yakko, I can handle him."

Yakko lets go of her. "Not that. It's his nightmares. They get pretty bad, y'know?"

She crosses her arms over her chest. "Again, like I said, I can handle him."

"Alright Dot, I'll take your word for it." He gives her another hug before then leaving.

The feeling of being tired seizes Dot and she yawns loudly. Darn. Looks like she was going to have to go to bed soon. So she reluctantly picks up the remote turns off the T.V.

Dot thinks to herself that she can just watch the rest of it in the morning. She gets up off the couch and begins to walk over to the triple bunk bed. While she's walking over to it she briefly marvels at the comfortable silence inside the water tower. It was almost never this quiet. She figures that it's due to Yakko being away and Wakko being asleep.

She wishes that it was like this all the time. The quiet was nice.

Dot reaches the ladder and is about to start climbing it when a loud, ear-piercing scream shatters the silence. She jumps at this, her fur bushing out as she does. She slowly relaxes as she realizes that it's just Wakko screaming.

Wait.

Wakko is screaming?

Oh no!

Panic spikes her heart as she makes her way as fast as possible up the ladder to Wakko's bunk. Her sisterly instincts have come out full force and she has the deep need to comfort him from whatever nightmare he's had.

Panic spikes her heart again when she hears Wakko scream again, this time he's crying out for Yakko. Dot thinks to herself that Yakko isn't home right now, but she is. She'll help him however much she can.

Dot finally makes her way to his bunk, by this point Wakko is sitting upright, hugging himself, with tears in his eyes that threaten to fall.

"It's okay Wakko, I'm here!" She declares.

Wakko shakes his head slowly. The tears in his eyes finally start to fall.

Dot slowly makes her way into his bunk trying not to make any sudden moves that could frighten her brother any more than he already was. She can see that he's visibly trembling, whatever the nightmare was it must've been pretty bad.

As she sits down Wakko scoots away from her. She begins to feel disheartened. Maybe she isn't cut out for comforting him.

No, she can do it. It can't be that hard.

Right?

Dot started to think about ways she could comfort him. Her thoughts are cut short by Wakko talking.

"Where's Yakko?"

"He's in a meeting with T.P. right now."

"Just my bloody luck, huh?" Wakko lets out a shaky laugh that turns into a sob.

"I'm here." Dot slowly scoots over to him and is relieved that he doesn't move away from her this time. He just stares at her with sad eyes.

"I'll always be here for you."

That did it. In a flash she's trapped in Wakko's tight embrace.

Dot manages to get her arms around him and she hugs him back.

"So, what happened in your nightmare?" She asks.

Wakko whimpers, "It was horrible. You and Yakko told me that you both secretly hated me and that you were gonna lock me in the water tower all alone!"

"Did we?"

"Yes!" He wails.

Dot can feel Wakko trembling even harder as his tears start to fall on top of her head.

"Sometimes," He whispers. "I think you and Yakko do secretly hate me…"

Dot was completely shocked by his confession. So much so that she had to pull away from him. Wakko lets her go with a completely dejected look on his face. This almost breaks her heart. She knows she needs to reassure him and quickly.

So she reaches up and starts wiping away the tears that fall from his eyes.

"That isn't true at all, Wakkorino. I love you, a lot, and Yakko and I have never ever secretly hated you." She says, hoping that he'll believe her.

Wakko sniffles, "Really?"

"Yes, really."

He nods slightly at this. Dot feels relieved that Wakko believes her. She wipes the remaining tears from his face. He's finally stopped crying and seems a lot calmer now.

A few minutes later Wakko yawns loudly.

"Well, I'm completely knackered."

"So am I."

Dot, feeling that her work here was done, gets up to leave the bunk to go to her own but she's quickly stopped by Wakko who reaches out and grabs hold of her arm.

She gives him a questioning look. He looks down at her with a slight blush on his cheeks; evident that he's embarrassed by something.

"Will you cuddle with me?" He asks. "At least until I fall asleep?"

Dot thinks about it for a brief second and decides that, sure, why not.

"Sure."

So she crawls back over to Wakko and the two lay down in the bunk and cuddle. He falls asleep almost immediately but Dot stays awake for a bit. She manages to watch her brother sleep for a bit. He seems much more peaceful than he had been moments before.

Dot sighs softly.

She did it. She actually did it. She had managed to handle Wakko all without needing Yakko's help. And she was totally going to rub it in his face in the morning. So with that thought in mind, Dot fell into a completely peaceful sleep.
