Chaos Control!

~Narrator's POV~

"See you later, Buddy." Sonic fare-welled, sharing a fist-bump with my black, punk hedgehog avatar.

With that, Sonic the Hedgehog ran down the street of Park Avenue. My avatar smiled and gave a final wave. Sonic smiled back and gave a signature thumbs-up before disappearing into the street.

My avatar adjusted her gloves and looked at the horizon of the setting sun. She ran toward the horizon and leaped off the cliff. She fired her grappler and flew over the screen, vanishing into the sunset.

The screen goes black for a second, then returns to the main menu screen. Everything has turned white with a single yellow flower growing in the center of the room. I leaned back against my bed with a content sigh and placed my PlayStation controller on my lap. That was one of the best games Sega and Sonic Team have created in a while, at least in my opinion. I hope the upcoming movie will be just as good.

After a few minutes of resting, I ejected the Sonic Forces game disk from my PlayStation 4, put the disk back into its rightful case, and selected a movie from my collection of cartoon movies and series. I picked one of my Sonic X season 1 CDs and inserted the disk into my game console. Then pressed 'Play' on the controller.

I've been a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog since I was very little. I even remember owning a DreamCast and having the first Sonic the Hedgehog game as my first two games, before trading them for the first PlayStation...

Anywho, after an hour and a half, the disk ended, returned to the main menu and my bedroom fell quiet. I stood up from my bed and exit my bedroom, to the living room, and out the back door to the back garden. I closed the door behind me and watched the summer, crimson gold sky fade to a lovely midnight blue with the first stars twinkling without disturbance. That was when I saw it.

I opened my eyes when something green shined in my eye. I rubbed my eye and saw a large green gemstone resting in the grass of my back garden. Curious, I walked over and picked up the gemstone. It glowed brightly under my touch, which made me shield my eyes from the light. The gemstone glowed for a second, then dimmed to the point it was barely glowing.

'The Servers are the Seven Chaos...'

I gasped and looked around the back garden. I know that voice, but I couldn't put my finger on where I've heard it before. I looked at the gemstone for a moment, then I took it inside and put it on my bedside drawer, in my bedroom.

'Chaos is power, enriched by the heart...'

I looked around my bedroom, but I was home alone. Who is that voice? Where is it coming from? Why does it sound so familiar?

I shook my head from the thought and resumed my routine before bedtime. Such as changing into my pajamas. Brushing my hair. Brushing my teeth. Washing my face and hands. Taking my nighttime medication. And heading straight to bed.

I rested my head onto my pillow and closed my eyes, then I heard the voice again...

'The Controller is the one that unifies the Chaos...'

I turned over to my side and looked at the gemstone on my bedside table. It was glowing a little brighter than before. Like it was waiting for something. I reached over to grab the gemstone and sat up on my bed to look at it. It glowed slightly brighter under my touch again. The gemstone seemed to be acting like a... I shook my head. No, that's impossible. Chaos Emeralds don't exist in this world. Do they?

I looked at the gemstone again. I remember my mother telling me and my sister that our Earth is just one of an infinite of Earths. Maybe Chaos Emeralds do exist in one of those Earths. It's possible... Chaos Emeralds are objects containing a mass amount of chaotic power, that included breaking the laws of science and magic.

You know what? I'm gonna test a theory. I'm gonna call upon Chaos Control and see what happens with the gemstone. Only two things can happen and there's only one way to find out which.

I closed my eyes and lifted the gemstone over my head. I called out as loud as I can, "Chaos Control!"

As if by instant response, the gemstone glowed brightly and erupted with a bright light. The light enveloped the gemstone and everything around me went numb and bright. The light enveloped my body and my mind went blank...

*Dream*

I opened my eyes to the sound of rain. I found myself in front of a familiar shrine. It was dark and raining. Circling the shrine were seven pillars with seven gemstones floating on top of them. Each a familiar color: Red. Purple. Blue. Cyan. Yellow. Green. And white.

Voices whispered in my ear, beckoning me closer to the shrine. As if my body had a mind of its own, I walked closer to the shrine and walked up the stairs. At the top of the stairs was a large, glowing, green, familiar emerald. The voices continued to whisper.

Curious, I walked closer to the large emerald and raised my hand to touch it. I placed my hand over the gemstone and a the whispers stopped. The gemstone glowed brightly, as a voice spoke from its luminous glow.

"I have heard your cries, young one. Your dreams to find a place you belong. I will grant your desire. But there is a price to be paid for such a request."

I blinked my eyes twice, unable to respond with words. The voice spoke again, as ribbons of green energy exit the gemstone and wrapped around my body.

"You must forget your old life to begin your new life. A life for a life. Come, young one. Embrace your new life. Embrace your new life. Let me grant what you desire most."

"Awaken..."

The gemstone and the ribbons glowed brightly within the shrine, shining like a star in the dark and rainy weather. I closed my eyes, as they burned from the bright light. My head ached, and my body burned from the ribbons of energy.
