Disclaimer: I don't own Supergirl or the characters. This is written purely for fun.
A/N: This was inspired/prompted by Fabery following a discussion about James's dating habits. This is set at the end of Season 3. After they beat the Worldkillers, but before Alura returns to Argo. It is not serious in anyway and if you are a big James Olsen fan you probably don't want to read this.
"Seeing you don't have to go back right at this moment, let me show you round while you are here." Kara said to her mother. "Alex, you'll come too right?"
"Ummm, I have a lot I need to finish off." Alex said, still feeling awkward round the twin of the woman she had killed.
"I'll go." James jumped in enthusiastically.
"Great, let's go." Kara said.
"Looks like Kara's going to get a daddy Olsen." Winn said out loud but to himself as the trio walked off.
"What?" Alex asked picking up on the comment.
"What what?" Winn asked trying to look innocent.
"What was that comment about Daddy Olsen?" Alex asked.
"Nothing."
"Winn." Alex said sternly.
"Alex." He replied trying but failing to sound stern.
"You are willing to sacrifice your desk toys?" Alex asked picking up one of the action figures.
"They are limited edition collectables." Winn corrected before adding. "And no."
"So what are you talking about?" Alex pressed.
"James's obsession."
"What?"
"You see it right? I mean you see everything so you must have seen it." Winn asked.
"See what?" Alex asked confused and getting frustrated.
"James, he has a thing for all things Superman."
"So?"
"He hangs off Clark's every word. When he couldn't actually date him he dated his wife's little sister. He then dumped her for Clark's cousin. And when that didn't work he dated Clark's nemesis's sister, who also happened to be his cousin's best friend. Seriously if someone has a connection to Clark they are on James's wish list for dating. And let's face it Alura has a pretty big connection to Clark."
"So does my mom." Alex countered.
"Yes, yes she does." Winn confirmed avoiding eye contact.
"Wait, has James hit on mom?" Alex asked looking appalled. "When?"
"Look at the time. Gotta go." Winn said scampering off.
"What was that about?" J'onn asked.
"Something very disturbing." Alex said before looking at J'onn and asking. "When you have been near James, have you ever read his mind, or sensed his feelings?"
"Sometimes."
"Does he have a crush on mom?"
"What?" J'onn asked confused.
"James, does he have a crush on mom?"
"Where is this coming from?" J'onn asked.
"Winn, he said James has an obsession with all things Superman and will date anyone connected with Clark and mom and Clark are good friends."
"Oh that." J'onn said. "To be honest I try to block all of those kind of thoughts entering my mind. I believe the term Winn used is ultimate fanboy." He added before walking off.
"That didn't answer my question." Alex call after him.

"Alex, you made it." Kara said happily as her sister approached the table.
"Yes, I did. Umm, Kara can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Sure."
"We'll be back in a minute." Alex said before looking at James and adding. "Literally a minute."
"Okay." James said not understanding the comment.
"What's wrong?" Kara asked as Alex led her outside of NooNan's. Once they were outside Alex looked back in at the table James and Alura were sitting at and noticed James smiling and laughing.
"Alex, what's wrong?" Kara pressed.
"Just give me a minute I need to see if he was right." Alex said watching James and Alura.
"If who was right? What are you talking about?" Kara asked lost.
"I think James may be hitting on your mom."
"What? No. He's with Lena."
"Not meaning to be indelicate about this, but he was with Lucy when he started flirting with you."
"Fine, but that's my mom. She is technically old enough to be his grandmother."
"She doesn't look that old." Alex countered. "And James's connection is more to do with Clark than looks."
"What?" Kara asked.
"Everyone James falls for has a connection to Clark. Lucy, you, Lena … your mom."
"What? No. That's …" Kara started as she looked through the window where she saw her mother and James laughing. "We have to get back to the table." Kara said.

"Is everything okay?" James asked when the sisters had returned.
"It's fine." Kara said.
"Are you sure?" Alura asked her daughter. "You seem to be frowning."
"No, it's fine. Really." Kara said trying to smile.
"Good." Alura said. "James was just explaining some of the foods you have here."
"I assumed your knowledge of fruit and vegetables would be limited." James said to Kara. "So I ordered a selection." He explained as a waiter dropped a plate off on the table.
"So that's a fig. That is avocado. That is watermelon." James listed pointing to various items. "Oh they forgot the cherries." He said jumping up as Kara choked in her coffee.
"Could you give us another minute." Kara said to her mother before ushering her sister outside again.
"Is it just me or are all of those aphrodisiacs?" Kara asked when they were outside.
"Well a lot of foods are. It is probably coincidence. Besides it is not like he has suggested chocolate or oysters." Alex said.
"You're right, I am reading too much into this. I wish you never told me." Kara said looking back through the window. "Oh Roa, he just gave my mom a whole banana."
"Tell me you mean an actual banana." Alex said.
"Of course it is an actual banana. And please stop speaking I am seeing things in my head I can never unsee." Kara said going back in.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Alura asked.
"I'm fine." Kara smiled.
"Okay. Pumpkin pie and ginseng tea." James said returning to the table.
Seeing Alex's expression Kara asked quietly. "Are they also on the list?"
"Yes." Alex confirmed as Alura asked.
"What list?"
"Um, it doesn't matter." Kara said as James added.
"You know where we should go for dinner? Mers. Best fish seafood restaurant in the city. The salmon is really fresh and the oysters are fantastic."
"Oysters?" Kara asked accidentally snapping a fork.
"I know you don't like them, but everyone has to try them once." James said.
"They really don't." Kara said.
"But you love the dessert there. I mean they have the chocolate fondue, you know with the fresh strawberries to dip into it." James said.
"As lovely and as strange as that sounds I can not stay." Alura said. "I have to return."
"That's too bad." James said.
"But now we have found each other I hope you will visit." Alura said to her daughter.
"I'd like that." Kara said squeezing her hand.
"But next time I am here, I would love to try all of those foods. Especially what did you call them? Popping cherries."
"Just cherries." Alex correct as Kara choked again on her coffee.

"That was the most stressful afternoon coffee I have ever been to." Kara said as she collapsed on her couch that evening. Worst still I don't think I ever want pumpkin pie again. I can't believe you put the idea of James going after my mom in my head."
"Blame Winn. He said you were getting a daddy Olsen." Alex said.
"Please stop talking."
"Well we have to figure out what to do before Thanksgiving." Alex said.
"Why?" Kara asked.
"Because Mom will be at Thanksgiving and based on Winn's logic she is another target."
"All we have to do is make sure Lena is there. I mean he wouldn't try anything subconsciously or otherwise if Lena is there." Kara said.
"You think they will still be dating at Thanksgiving?" Alex asked. "I mean that whole relationship seems a little rocky."
"I hope so." Kara said. "I mean Eliza will be in the city for days. How would we protect her otherwise?"
"We could just have James go round as the Tin Man, surely that would be a turn off." Alex said.
"Eliza does disapprove of Guardian." Kara agreed. "But to be on the safe side no pumpkin pie and no chocolate."
"Wait, you are giving up pie and chocolate?" Alex asked.
"No, I meant for Eliza." Kara said. "I'll make sure I eat all the chocolate, to save her and you."
The End
