Detective Rollins, NYPD
She certainly liked the sound of that. Still that didn't mean she wasn't nervous about her first day on the job. It had hit her out of nowhere and Amanda found herself unable to stop pacing in her apartment. The anticipation of meeting Olivia Benson and the pressure of making a good impression on everyone in her new squad was too much. The fact that she looked up to Detective Benson ever since she had read about one of her cases, when she was first starting in the Academy, was not helping her at all.
Apparently the detective had received a call made by a young girl to the 911. The shocking details that the girl had revealed had convinced the detective that the child was a victim of child pornography while the rest of the squad had been convinced that it had been just a prank call. Detective Benson hadn't given up until she had found her, she kept her on the line the entire night trying hard to get as many details in an attempt to locate her. And in the end, she had found her on the death's door and managed to pull her back at the last minute. Amanda was so impressed by the dedication this woman showed to the child.
After coming across the Detective and that particular case, she had made sure to study many more of her cases and learn quite a few things about the way she was handling victims and situations. So making a great first impression on her was really vital for Amanda; which, frankly, was a big part behind her agitation and the reason she found herself in a bar nursing a glass of whiskey in an attempt to calm herself.
"Is the seat taken?" A husky voice on her right asked. It took Amanda a few seconds to realize that she was being addressed so she turned slightly and was quite mesmerized by the woman standing there. The brunette was so beautiful; she held such an air of superiority but also Amanda couldn't shake the feeling that she knew her from somewhere. When the woman raised an eyebrow at her, Amanda realized that she was sitting there staring for ten seconds.
"Oh. No. Go ahead." She smiled hesitantly and almost shyly, blushing. With a glance around, Amanda noticed that the bar was quite packed with guys, so it didn't come as a surprise that the woman preferred to sit close to her. It was quite obvious that she wanted to be left alone, which was why she didn't make a move to talk to her further.
"Thanks." The brunette smiled at her and took a seat.
Amanda was trying so hard not to turn and stare at her. She really wanted to learn more about her but she didn't want to be a bother. From the brief second she actually glanced at her, she noticed the sadness her eyes carried in them. She had seen that look before quite a few times in the past. She clearly wanted to be left alone and she was going to respect that.
It took about half an hour for a guy to approach the brunette and flirt with her, but even though the brunette shut him down politely, he was quite oblivious and kept insisting. Amanda waited five minutes patiently, tapping her fingers on the bar, until she couldn't hold it in any longer.
"Dude, come on. She is not playing hard to get. She said she isn't interested. You probably didn't get it because she was being polite but kindly move along." Amanda glared at him, hoping that he wouldn't make a fuss. She wasn't scared to start a fight but she also thought about how bad it would look if she got arrested before she even started her job.
When the man raised his hands in defense, she was actually relieved. She dodged that fight, even though she wouldn't mind throwing a few punches in.
"I could handle that." The woman objected as if she was bothered by Amanda's intervention, but the secretive smile on her lips told Amanda quite a different story.
"I had no doubt that you could. He was just getting on my nerves." Amanda pointed out with a smirk. "It just frustrates me to no end when they don't take no for an answer." And it did not just frustrate her. It made her livid.
"I can relate to that." She nodded staring into her glass of wine. After a few silent seconds ticking by, the brunette turned towards her and extended a hand. "Olivia."
Amanda wrapped her hand around Olivia's and shook it firmly. "Amanda. Nice to meet you."
"Likewise. You are not from around here, are you?"
"Is it that obvious?" Amanda chuckled, looking down at her.
Olivia simply shook her head with a small smile. "No. I just notice things. Also what you just did, not a lot of New Yorkers have the balls to do it." She simply shrugged. "Oh and one more thing. The accent."
"Is it that bad?" Amanda asked, moving a hand against her lips, slightly embarrassed.
"Oh no no. It's not bad at all. Quite charming actually."
Was Olivia flirting with her? Nah, Amanda was definitely imagining things. She considered Olivia way out of her league and quite frankly she doubted that she was lucky enough to have such a breathtaking woman flirt with her. "Thank you, I suppose. Actually I just moved from Atlanta for work. It's really weird being in such an enormous city and not having anyone to talk to." She immediately noticed the shadow that came over Olivia's eyes at her words. When Olivia didn't answer but continued staring at her wine glass, Amanda got worried. "Did I say something?"
She didn't receive an answer and even though it was not her place, she nudged the brunette softly. "Olivia?" The brunette hummed and turned her head towards her. "Did I say something?"
"Oh no. Sorry. I was just thinking about something."
Amanda nodded. "Look, I noticed when you came in and sat next to me that you wanted to be left alone. Something is clearly bothering you. It's written all over your face." She smiled softly when Olivia looked at her with worry. "We can continue our conversation pretending I never said anything or I can leave you in peace so you can go through whatever you are struggling with."
"I sense a third option somewhere in there."
"Nice instincts. You should be a detective." Amanda teased her chuckling. She didn't miss the slight twitch on Olivia's eyebrow but she completely misinterpreted into Olivia thinking she was an idiot so she simply ignored it. "We are two strangers that, let's not kid ourselves, probably won't see each other again." When Olivia furrowed her eyebrows, Amanda added. "I am a very good listener and I do not judge. I promise. So, are you okay?"
When Olivia shook her head and turned forward, avoiding Amanda's intrusive eyes, the blonde thought that the conversation was over and mimicked Olivia's seating arrangement. The hint was taken and she was going to respect Olivia's wishes.
As it turned out, Olivia was merely contemplating if it was a good idea to throw her problems on another person, a stranger to be exact. Maybe it was the courage she received from her second glass of wine, but after five minutes, she finally spoke up. "No, I am not, but I know I will be eventually." She muttered, turning her face towards Amanda slightly. Amanda remained silent, waiting patiently for the woman to continue or stop; whatever she felt like doing.
"Have you ever wondered why we bother putting our faith on other people to have them disappear the next minute as if 13 years meant nothing?" The brunette lifted her wine to her lips, taking a larger sip than necessary.
"Were they a friend?" Amanda asked almost hesitantly.
"I thought he was and sometimes, he was more than that." Olivia shook her head, trying to find a way to form the words she wanted to say without breaking down. "He was also my work partner for 13 years and just today my boss informed me that he just… left."
Amanda reached out and placed a hand over Olivia's but she didn't interrupt her. She just squeezed it in comfort and sat there silently, hoping that her mere presence was enough to soothe Olivia's torment. "I won't lie. I had feelings for him and he did for me but he was also married. It was wrong and we fought it every step of the way. We…" she stopped embarrassed to actually admit it out loud. She didn't want to be judged or to be pitied by this sweet stranger. When Amanda brushed a thumb over her hand and smiled at her, she realized that Amanda was just offering her some comfort; nothing more, nothing less. "We slept together. A few times. But we realized that it was wrong and we eventually stopped. Thankfully, it didn't have any impact in our friendship. We still supported and cared for each other. That never changed. Until he packed up and left without even something as simple as a good bye." She shook her head, a small scoff escaping her lips. "I just feel…" Olivia paused trying to give a name to her feelings.
"Abandoned? Betrayed? Alone?" Amanda supplied and the brunette immediately looked up into Amanda's eyes in surprise. That was exactly what Olivia was feeling and it was pretty obvious that Amanda had also shared the same feelings in the past, but she didn't share her story. She kept her promise of being there to listen and even though Olivia felt selfish for not asking, Amanda understood and it didn't bother her at all. Olivia took a deep breath, nodding and feeling a bit lighter having shared all that. She lifted a hand to wipe away a few tears that had escaped without her even noticing, but she didn't pull away from Amanda's touch and Amanda didn't mind that either. She kept brushing her thumb over Olivia's hand for as long as the brunette allowed it.
Olivia looked into Amanda's eyes and actually offered a warm and easy smile which mesmerized Amanda. "Feeling a little better?"
"Actually, yes I do." She murmured surprised. "You were right." Amanda puffed her chest a bit proudly at the pleasant tone of Olivia's voice. "But I think I have actually burdened you enough with my problems, why don't you tell me something about yourself? Anything you want." Clearly it was a polite way to say that she didn't want to talk about it anymore and Amanda was more than glad to accept her wishes.
The conversation flew freely between them and neither woman realized how the time had flown by. Olivia offered to walk Amanda home after she had put such a gloomy mood over their shared time and even though Amanda assured her that that wasn't the case, the brunette insisted, which only led to Amanda offering her a glass of wine at her place. Even though her instincts told her that it wouldn't be a good idea, Olivia didn't want to part with her yet. The feeling of comfort she received from the other woman was enough for her to accept the invitation.
An hour later, the two were laughing over some incident Olivia had shared with the blonde while sitting comfortably on Amanda's couch, knees touching and bodies leaning against the back of the couch. Neither woman had realized how close they had gotten over time.
"For what it's worth anyone would be lucky to have you. Even if it is just as a friend." Maybe it was the confidence Amanda had gained by the two glasses of whiskey and the one of wine but she found herself blurting it to Olivia, meaning every word.
The brunette paused at the words staring. The warmth and want that she saw into those ocean eyes in addition to the slight tipsiness due to the three glasses of wine was probably the reasoning behind her next actions. She suddenly surged forward and captured Amanda's lips in an urgent kiss. It took Amanda a few seconds to realize what was happening but the moment she did, she wrapped her arms around Olivia and pulled her on top of her as she laid back. Olivia opened her mouth and deepened the kiss as if her life depended on it. She rested her weight on one hand while she used the other to grab on Amanda's thigh and pull her leg around her waist.
The blonde buried a hand in brown hair and pulled slightly, eliciting a groan from the brunette. The sound of Olivia's moan caused Amanda to open her eyes and pulled back slightly. "Olivia, are you sure about this?" The brunette ignored her question and leaned in to kiss her again. The way she bit into Amanda's lower lip made the blonde squirm in excitement but she still fought it and pulled away. "I-I need to know you are okay with this, Olivia." She breathed heavily, raising a hand on Olivia's rosy cheek.
Olivia glanced into her eyes and nodded. "This is what I need right now. Please, Amanda." She muttered and the other woman smiled and nodded. "Okay."
Amanda kissed her again but pushed her into an upright position. Without breaking off the kiss, she took her hand and pulled her into her bedroom. She pushed her down on the bed softly and climbed on top. She made quick work of the buttons of Olivia's shirt and pulled the sides apart revealing her black laced bra underneath.
The situation felt quite urgent and all Olivia wanted to feel was the blonde's skin against her own so she quickly pulled Amanda's many clothes off her and removed the rest of her own clothes. Amanda didn't object but did in fact match Olivia's urgent pace.
The brunette hooked a leg between Amanda's and used it as leverage to switch their positions. She latched onto her neck, biting and sucking softly while Amanda moaned and grinded against Olivia's leg. "Fuck." She moaned loudly. Her entire body was on fire and she became quite vocal about it. One hand slithered between their bodies and slowly slipped into Amanda's wetness. The blonde shuddered at the contact and thrusted her hips faster against Olivia's hand until she felt her muscles clench and throb around her fingers. She gripped onto Olivia's shoulders while her entire body shuddered from the aftermath of her orgasm. The brunette brushed her nose against hers and captured her lips in a breathless kiss.
Her hair was sprawled around her head and her face glowed from the ecstasy but when she finally managed to calm down and come down from her high, she opened her eyes and glanced into the chocolate orbs. A soft pink tongue slipped past her lips in an attempt to moisten them. Before Olivia had the chance to speak, she found herself on her back with an audible gasp.
Amanda left kisses on every inch of her body, exploring the vast expanse of skin while she moved her head lower and lower. She pressed a kiss on each side of Olivia's inner thighs and wrapped her lips around Olivia's clit. The loud moan slipping from Olivia's lips in the form of a 'Oh fuck, yes' was quite rewarding. While her tongue worked on the small bundle, driving Olivia to the edge, Amanda slipped a finger in and out of Olivia. "Please, Amanda, more." At the brunette's breathless request, the blonde added a second finger and curled them inside of Olivia, picking up the speed. Olivia gripped on Amanda's hair and arched her back when her vision exploded into white static, her pleasure taking over her senses. Her toes curled tightly and her irregular breath made her chest rise and fall fast.
Amanda raised her gaze and glanced at Olivia, taking in the most erotic sight she had ever seen. She slowly sat up and licked her fingers clean before she stretched like a cat next to Olivia, glowing with the satisfaction and pleasure she felt. She curled around the other woman and rested her head on her shoulder. "Can you stay?" Amanda muttered almost afraid of the answer.
"Sure." Olivia didn't think about it. Her answer was instant and it just made Amanda tighten her hold on her and smile. Olivia pulled the discarded covers around them and let the comfort envelope her.
