Ahsoka Tano is sitting on the ground and meditating, her white-bladed lightsabers attached to her belt. The brook babbles and the birds sing as Ahsoka drifts deeper into the force. Her eyes are closed and she appears to be at peace. Then a force ghost appears.
A male voice says, "Ahsoka." Her large blue eyes snap open and she looks around. It is the Force ghost of her former master Anakin Skywalker. The Hero with No Fear or the Son of Suns to the general public in the Clone Wars. The Sith apprentice, Darth Vader, who murdered the younglings at the Jedi Temple. The galaxy's best pilot. Skyguy, to her. Obi-Wan's apprentice.
He looks just like he did the last time Ahsoka saw him before he became Darth Vader. Her former Rebellion Intelligence handler's (until his death when the Death Star blew up Alderaan), adopted daughter's biological father. One of many who tried to kill her. She last saw him, as Anakin just before her mission to Mandlore. The first mission where she nearly got killed due to Order 66.
Anakin Skywalker's force ghost says, "Ahsoka."
"Hello, Snips."Ahsoka stretches out in the Force and senses only light in him. Still, she doesn't really want to believe it after Malachor, when he tried to kill her. She thinks, hm, how about not talking to him, but still keeping an eye on him, in case he tried to mess with her, and knowing Anakin's pranking skills and skills for causing damage the hard way, after he pranked her starfighter once. She tries to use the force to push a pebble at him. He force-pushes it back at her. She wants to have her Master back again, but she wants Vader gone.
Ahsoka tries to meditate again, but her former Master keeps trying to get her to talk to him. By this point, Anakin is getting a bit annoyed at his former Padawan.
Ahsoka finally grumbles, "Why are you here?"
Anakin says, "Wow, Snips, you finally did decide to talk to stop giving me the silent treatment, my little snippy Padawan.."
Ahsoka says coldly, "Why did you fall!? Why did you do it!?"
Anakin says, "It was to try to save Padme. I had visions. Visions of her dying in childbirth."
Ahsoka says again, "Oh, I guess, there was more to it then I thought. Why are you even here? How come you can do this 'Force ghost' stuff."
Anakin says, "The Jedi Council, in the Netherworld, has discovered a portal to send dead Force-sensitives back to life. The Jedi Council wants to send me back to fix what I did and make a better relationship with my kids. They didn't say this to me, but I suspect they also want to get me out from underfoot. As for your second question, Snips, I'm one with the Force."
Ahsoka says, "Skyguy! You have kids!"
Anakin says, "I didn't even know that I had kids until a while after the first Death Star's destruction. The pilot who blew it up was my son. I didn't know I had a daughter until Luke was fighting me on the second Death Star. I thought that if Luke won't join me in the dark side, his sister that I didn't know about until then would. I have tried talking to Leia, who is my daughter. It's not working. I know you were associated with the Alliance, and you were in Intelligence. I think Leia was in Intelligence before she was in High Command. I need you to convince Leia to see me, but not tell her that I'm coming. I don't think you should mind trick her."
Ahsoka says, "You know she's going to be really upset. What should I do if I can't mind trick her?"
Anakin says, "I know she will be upset, Ahsoka. I also know that you are here on this world trying to track down Grand Admiral Thrawn for New Republic Intelligence. I tried to mind probe her as Vader after I captured her on her mission to steal the Death Star plans. It failed completely. Don't even bother with mind tricks. Instead, try distracting her or maybe working on helping her calm down. When she finds out that I came back, she will be upset. Like very upset, knowing her personality."
Ahsoka says, "Huh, you think I'm here to find Thrawn? Really, Skyguy?" She rolls her eyes at Skyguy, and tries to act like she's not here to find Thrawn, as she knew Leia wouldn't be happy if the man who used to be Darth Vader got ahold of any more intelligence from Alderaanian Intelligence. He had nearly gotten ahold of the plans to the first Death Star, and was still on the 'no classified info ever' list that Leia had just in case some imperials defected. Not like Leia thought Darth Vader would ever defect, as he was added to the last as a prank, to harass Leia. Although Ahsoka knew through the Force that Anakin wouldn't hurt her, she knew how concerned Leia would be. Leia would probably insist on making sure she was okay. To some degree, Leia reminded her of her favorite Jedi, and her master, Skyguy, way too much. But she knew better then to say that when Skyguy's daughter was around. After what Vader did to Leia, Leia made it as clear as Alderaanian crystals, which were extremely clear, that she didn't enjoy hearing that type of stuff around her, and would prefer people to stop harassing her over it.
Anakin says, "I talked to Luke and he told me about your mission. You thought I secretly followed Leia around?" Ahsoka was mentally recording this, to tell Leia when she got back. This way, she could stop leaks in Alderaanian Intel from getting to the Imperials and costing agents their lives.
Ahsoka says, "I guess I'll have to stop telling Luke. He wasn't supposed to tell you."
***Flashback***
Ahsoka's Force vision
Ahsoka is on Mandlore, working on handling the Siege of Mandlore
19 BBY Coruscant in Palpatine's office
Jedi Master Mace Windu, the Master of Vappad says, "You are under arrest, My Lord."
Palpatine, newly exposed as Darth Sidious, the man who set up the Clone Wars, says, "Anakin! I told you it would come to this. I was right. The Jedi are taking over."
Mace Windu says, "You old fool. The oppression of the Sith will never return. Your plot to regain control of the Republic is over . . . you have lost . . ."
Palpatine says, "No! No! You will die!"
Palpatine raises his hands, and bolts of deadly Force Lightning shoot out.
The bolts are blocked by Mace's purple lightsaber and his mastery of Vappad. Palpatine is pushed back against the window sill of his office.
Darth Sidious says, "He is a traitor, Anakin."
Mace Windu says, "He's the traitor. Stop him! "
Palpatine says, "Come to your senses, boy. The Jedi are in revolt.
They will betray you, just as they betrayed me."
Palpatine says, "You are not one of them, Anakin. Don't let him kill me."
Palpatine says, "I am your pathway to power. I have the power to save the one you love.
You must choose. You must stop him."
Mace Windu says, "Don't listen to him, Anakin."
Palpatine says, "Help me! Don't let him kill me. I can't hold on any longer. Ahhhhhhh . . . . . . ahhhhhhh . . . "
Mace pushes Palpatine out to the edge of the ledge in Chancellor Palpatine's office.
As the Jedi Master moves closer, the bolts from Palpatine's hands begin to arch back on him. The Chancellor's face begins to twist and distort. His face starts looking all wrinkly. His eyes become yellow as he struggles to intensify his dark powers.
Palpatine says, "I can't ... I give up. Help me. I am weak ... I am too weak. Don't kill me.
I give up. I'm dying. I can't hold on any longer."
Mace Windu says, "You Sith disease. I am going to end this once and for all."
Anakin says, "You can't kill him, Master. He must stand trial."
Mace Windu says to Anakin, "He has control of the Senate and the Courts.
He is too dangerous to be kept alive."
Palpatine says, " I'm too weak. Don't kill me. Please."
Anakin says, "It is not the Jedi way . . ."
Mace raises his sword to kill the Chancellor.
Anakin continues, "He must live . . ."
Palpatine says, "Please don't, please don't . . ."
Anakin says, "I need him . . ."
Palpatine says, "Please don't . . ."
Anakin says, "NO!"
Just as Mace is about to slash Palpatine, Anakin steps in and cuts off the
Jedi's hand holding the lightsaber.
As Mace stares at Anakin in shock, Palpatine springs to life. The full force of Palpatine's powerful force lightning blasts Mace. He attempts to deflect them with his one good hand, but the force of the lightning is too great. As blue rays of deadly force lightning engulf his body, he is flung out the window and falls twenty stories to his death from Palpatine's office. No more screams. No more moans. It is silent in Palpatine's office for a second. Palpatine lowers his arm.
Palpatine says," Power! Unlimited power!"
His face has changed into a horrible mask of evil. Anakin looks on in horror. Palpatine cackles.
Anakin says, "What have I done?"and sits down.
Palpatine says, "You are fulfilling your destiny, Anakin. Become my apprentice.
Learn to use the dark side of the Force."
Anakin says, "I will do whatever you ask."
Palpatine says, "Good."
Anakin says, "Just help me save Padme's life. I can't live without her. I won't let her die.
I want the power to stop death."
Palpatine says, "To cheat death is a power only one has achieved, but if we work
together, I know we can discover the secret." When Palpatine says this, he knows that this is how he will trap his apprentice and has the Jedi's Chosen One as his apprentice forever. Unknown to Anakin though, Palpatine learned this power from Darth Plaguis the Wise and isn't going to tell Anakin how to do it.
Anakin kneels before Palpatine, the Sith Master and says, "I pledge myself to your teachings. To the ways of the Sith."
Palpatine says, "Good. Good. The Force is strong with you. A powerful Sith you will
become. Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth . . . Vader."
Anakin says, "Thank you. my Master."
Palpatine says, "Rise, Darth Vader." As Darth Vader rose, he drew on the Dark Side so
much that it caused Ahsoka, his former apprentice who was sectors away on Mandlore (with part of the 501st Legion) to sense his fall.
***End vision***
Ahsoka Tano says, "Anakin!" She sensed something bad has happened to Anakin. As he rises as Darth Vader, she senses something she never wanted to sense in him, in him. The Dark Side. Her Master has fallen.
Rex picks up his comlink after it beeps. The blue tinted hologram of Darth Sidious says, "Execute Order 66. That includes Tano because she was once a Jedi."
Commander Rex says, "Yes sir, Lord Sidious."
Ahsoka Tano says, "Rex! It's Anakin. I feel like something terrible has happened."
Ahsoka Tano says, "Rex?"
***End Flashback***
"Hello there, Snips.", says Anakin. He looks like he did when Ahsoka last saw him when he was a Jedi. She remembers him giving her back her old lightsabers and saying that he made them better. She senses no darkness, only light in him, so she decides it is safe to talk to Anakin.
She says, "Um, hello Skyguy. I missed you. When are you planning to come back and where?"
"I'm planning to surprise Luke in a few days at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant," says Anakin.
"Oh, I'm coming back to Coruscant tomorrow."
