Ah yes, it's good to be back! Anyway this seemingly depressing story was mostly inspired by the Family Guy episode where Brian died. Anyway, enjoy!
A Lost Pataki
I, Arnold P. Shortman, walked alongside my girlfriend, Helga G. Pataki, on a road near the Boarding Home. By this time, we'd been together for a good few months. And although she's a bit difficult at times, I love her.
Sometimes, with all of the commotion that goes on at my house, she could be the light of my life. Especially when we're alone! She could be quite the cuddler, and extremely affectionate!
As much as she likes to downplay it, I know that she loves me too.
Apparently I was lost in thought, because Helga slapped the back of my head quite harshly, "Yeah, earth to Football Head," she yelled in my ear, making me jump a bit, "are ya still with us?" This made me chuckle a bit, "Yeah, Helga. S-sorry!" I replied, making her chuckle alongside me, "Just making sure, Arnoldo. So, where are we going again?" she asked, making me turn my head to her, "I just have to drop off this mail. I'll be back in a sec!" I said, jogging softly to the mailbox and leaving Helga in the middle of the road.
As I put the mail in the box, my ears were suddenly met with a far, but loud noise. I turned to see a car speeding on the road, perhaps exceeding 100 MPH. I then realized something horrifying; Helga was still on the road. I yelled at my girlfriend, "HELGA, LOOK OUT!"
But it was too late. The car viciously ran her over and sped off. Tears began to roll down my cheeks as I sprinted over to my bloodied, broken girlfriend. "HELGA! SOMEONE HELP! PLEASE!" I cried, gaining attention. It wasn't long until an ambulance came and took her in, me alongside them.
I sat in the waiting room waiting for someone, anyone, to bring an update on her state. I waited for hours until a doctor stepped into the waiting room. I sprung up, "Doctor, how's Helga?" I asked, which brought the doctor's mood considerably down. This made me panic, "I-is she gonna be fine?" He sighed and looked down at me.
"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Shortman. But Helga's injuries were just too severe for us to save her. I suggest you go in and say your goodbyes." This statement shocked me to an extent I had no clue was even possible. My eyes widened tremendously, more tears slowly flooding my red face as I walked into Helga's hospital room. And the sight I saw just made me cry even more.
My girlfriend, Helga G. Pataki, the strongest girl I've ever had the privilege of knowing, was now just a shriveled bag of broken bones, blood and horror. I silently sobbed to myself as I walked over to her bed. She was attached to tubes as she softly opened her eyes and looked over to me and smiled, "A-arnold," she trembled, "D-d-d-don't cry." Her shivering hand made it's way to my cheek and turned my head to her. I couldn't hold it in anymore, I began to bawl my eyes out with a complete lack of care for how I looked doing so, "Y-you can't go, Helga!" I wailed, "P-please, don't leave me!" She began to shiver.
"Y-you've given me a wonderful life, Arnold," she said in an extremely soft voice, "I love you so much." And right after she said this, her heart stopped.
Helga G. Pataki was no more. And with that thought, and my bawling self, perhaps I was gone too.
