A/N: This one was so sweet! I love Blaine needing Kurt in these soft, loving ways and so this was effortless to write. Thank you for the prompt, El! But also, holy shit, how did it get that long? celery-elliry I hope you enjoy! (Yes it's after midnight and yes I did just write all 1500 words in one sitting when I should be studying for finals or sleeping)

Forehead Kisses
Pairing: Kurt Hummel/Blaine Anderson
Word Count: 1565

Blaine sat at his desk in his bedroom with his elbows on the unforgiving surface and the knuckles of his fists digging harshly into his eyes. His vision started to cloud with the dark, not-there colors the longer he sat with the pressure on his eye sockets and he really did feel the pain but he didn't care; he hurt elsewhere - his shoulders and hips ache from sitting in this stiff desk chair all day and his head is pounding - but it was all so easy to forget about.

His mind was otherwise occupied with the stack of college applications sitting in front of him. He has the words "legal name", "date of birth", and "permanent home address" ingrained into his corneas. He was sick of filling out application after application, but his father had paid for each one and Blaine had put it off because he didn't really want to go to any of these colleges - he'd much rather go to NYADA or even NYU so that he can go live with Kurt in New York.

The same Kurt that was very much spread out on his bed behind him and who Blaine would much rather be fooling around with at this very moment because they were here, together and alone. However, when Blaine had accidentally let it slip earlier that the applications were due soon Kurt parked him at his desk and now isn't letting him do anything else until he finishes at least a few to please his father.

Blaine groans and pulls his hands away from his face, needing a couple of seconds to blink away the fuzziness in his vision before the college name at the top of the current paper comes into view.

"Yeah?" Kurt asks and Blaine doesn't even need to look to know that he is smirking. The shorter of the two is choosing to ignore his boyfriend for now.

"I mean, look at this!" Blaine exclaims, gesturing wildly. "This school is in California, I don't think he could get me farther from New York."

Blaine hears the mattress creak softly as Kurt moves and it's not long before he feels hands on the tops of his shoulders. "You know he did it on purpose, right?"

Blaine sighs and his elbows hit the table top again, hard. He goes back to pushing against his eyes to try and relieve some of the pressure behind them, only this time with the bottom of his palms so it's not as harsh. "Why can't he just accept us?"

He's not looking for an answer and Kurt doesn't give him one, he just digs his palms in harder.

"Hey, hey, hey…" Kurt says, softly, running his hands up Blaine's forearms to pry his hands away from his eyes. "You can't finish up here if you can't see, hun."

Blaine just groans and let's his head tip backwards until it rests against the soft wall of Kurt's abdomen. His eyes stay open and he stares up at Kurt and before long an easy smile graces his mouth - just Kurt holding his wrists and feeling his warmth can change his mood for the better. It has been a while since he's felt Kurt and he's glad that the NYADA student came home this weekend.

"So what you're saying…" Blaine starts with a teasing tilt to his voice, "is that I have to blind myself so that you won't force me to finish these?" Now he didn't feel the ache in his body at all, but not because he was ignoring it but because all he was focusing on was the places where Kurt was touching him.

And Kurt's laughter, which echoes throughout the room as he squeezes his fingers tighter around Blaine's wrists for a second before dropping them; he was definitely focusing on the melodic sound of Kurt's laughter. Before Blaine can even begin to pout about his boyfriend not touching him, Kurt moves his hands to Blaine's chest and slides up and down for a few heartbeats before either of them say anything.

Then finally, "they're not that bad…" Kurt says, leaning down to murmur it into Blaine's neck.

Blaine moves his head to the side to give his boyfriend more room before protesting, "says the guy who didn't even fill anymore than one out."

"Yeah," he whispers and presses a closed-mouth kiss to Blaine's pulsepoint on his neck, "look what happened when I did that."

Blaine sighs, more focused on Kurt physically than he is verbally so it takes him a second or two to respond, "okay, Mr. NYADA student, keep talking."

Kurt doesn't, in fact, keep talking. Instead, he steps away from Blaine entirely and stands up straight again. Blaine cranks his head and shoulders to the side to follow where he went and sees standing only a couple of feet away with a stern look on his face.

"Kurt?" Blaine asks, wondering why all of the sudden he pulled away.

"Blaine," Kurt starts, his features softening into worry. "What happened to me was a one-in-a-million, you need to have back ups."

Blaine rises from the chair and goes to stand in front of his boyfriend. The seriousness in Kurt's voice and face had scared him for a second if he were being honest with himself, except that now he knows that it only happened out of concern for Blaine himself, so calms down and his heart rate returns to normal. Blaine loves this man with everything that he has and he knows that Kurt feels the same and wouldn't want a similar thing that happened at the start of this year to happen to Blaine.

He grabs Kurt's hands and steps even closer so that he can feel their shared body heat.

Kurt squeezes Blaine's hands once before untangling their fingers in favor of sliding his palms over Blaine's arms for the second time that night so that he can press them flat against Blaine's shoulder blades to crash the shorter boy into a hug; Blaine goes willingly.

Blaine's next breath comes out in a long sigh that heats up the fabric of Kurt's shirt that is under his mouth and nose. It doesn't take much maneuvering to nuzzle into Kurt's neck and plant a few of his own kisses.

"I know," he says eventually, pulling back enough to meet eyes with Kurt. "And I will, don't worry. I'd just much rather be doing other things."

From the way Kurt's eyebrow twitches and his nostrils flair - all signs that he was looking for - Blaine can tell that his boyfriend understood what he meant by the emphasis in his words.

Kurt's warm hands come up to cup Blaine's face and Blaine kind of wants to just melt - which, to be fair, he kind of wants to do that every time Kurt touches him, so this isn't a new feeling. God, he loves this man so very much. "I know, so do I, Blaine. But you have to get some of them done now if you want them mailed before it's too late, or else your dad won't be happy."

Blaine can't stop the immediate reaction to roll his eyes at the mention of his father's dissatisfaction. He tried not to care as much as he does every time, but he knows that Kurt is right and he just wishes that he hadn't waited until the last minute. He also wishes that his father was easier to please, but that's an old pain that he'd rather keep shelved away.

He suddenly doesn't even have the energy to talk anymore while thinking about all of the application essays he has to write tonight - all he can muster is a half-hearted shrug.

Kurt responds by rubbing his thumbs gently over the tops of his cheeks for a moment or two, smiling down at his boyfriend. Kurt leans forward and presses his lips softly to Blaines, holding the younger there for a long, joyous moment before standing up straight again; their mouths barely make any sound when they separate.

Blaine whines in response to the distance between them. He knows he's being a little pouty at this moment but pouting usually gets him what he wants: more kisses.

Except that Kurt also knows how much work Blaine still has to do and how easy it is for a few more kisses to turn into so much more. So, instead of indulging Blaine, he merely pulls him forward by his grip still on the shorter one's cheeks and presses his lips to Blaine's forehead.

Blaine's eyes close and his arms worm their ways around Kurt's waist and up his back, pulling them even closer together. He knows that he won't be getting anymore kisses for now, but this embrace and the warmth of Kurt's mouth on his face - anywhere on his face - is good enough and Blaine knows that he'll manage the workload. Right now, he doesn't want to move and he won't until Kurt pulls away after enough time has passed to be considered procrastination.

Blaine's mouth turns up in a grin as Kurt pulls his own mouth back - the suction of his lips against the flat of Blaine's forehead making a very audible sound - to tilt his head forward to rest their heads together.

Oh yeah, Blaine is so happy to have Kurt here to make the work seem not so heavy.
