But Fortunately for Lucina, The Radiant Hero Ike got some good advice for her, But is it good enough?

Author's Note:

Hey Guys, Welcome back to another One-Shot of the Deluxe-Verse, And it's a Sm4sh Era Story that focus on Lucina and Marth….

Yeah you may have noticed in the Sm4sh Stories that Lucina's arc in that tournament is that she's trying to reconnect with her Mother after the Attempted Matricide in the Canon FE: Awakening and while Robin still considers Lucina her daughter, Lucina haven't felt like she earned it back yet…. (Though as shown in the Stories: Ylissean Christmas and Parental Bonds of Smash)

This Story ALSO takes place BEFORE Those two stories so free not, Lucina ISN'T Regressing in Development; this takes place BEFORE those Stories and it's to expand on some moments of her Sm4sh Days before the Smash Ulimate Tournament.

Likewise, This story takes place before both the SM4SH DLC Newcomers (Roy, Mewtwo, Lucas are all invited back before the New DLC characters arrived and the Sherk and Goku Incident so for Corrin/Kamui fans, Rest assured they won't be present in this story just to be bullied, So relax regarding this story ok?

Another Plot point was how she was initially worried what Marth thinks of her due to her status as a Clone/Echo Fighter (not helped by Waluigi making fun of her till Ike helped defended her against him which he backed off form doing it permanently)

I know Lucina and Marth interacting is a common plot in the Smash Fandom, Especially with the former's Echo Fighter Status but I do want to tribute one of the many Smash Brothers Story of this Site: Meeting a Legend by MBenz4268 (One of the Inspirations for the Deluxe-Verse and a Pretty good writer as well, Check them out when you can!)

So I figure since it's the 31st anniversary of the Fire Emblem Franchise (and Lucina's Birthday), I figure why not celebrate with a small one shot of how our favourite warrior princess form the future interact with her ancestor for the first time without awkwardness on their minds, Well more so the former's mind. (NOT ROMANTIC HOWEVER!)

Ok, I heard about some stuff with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Here's what I have to say about it:

FOR THE LOVE OF GOOD…. PLEASE DON'T KEEP BASHING ON NINTENDO, YES! I KNOW THEY MADE SOME BAD CHOICES LATELY BUT TRY TO COMMUINCATE TO THEM IN A CIVIL MANNER AND IN A WAY THAT IS CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! DON'T ADD FUEL TO THE FIRE AND YES WE KNOW STUFF LIKE THE RECENT MARIO KART 8 DELUXE THING WAS BAD BUT PLEASE DON'T CAUSE EVEN MORE WARS OK?

JUST TRY TO REMAIN CALM AND HOPE E3 WILL HAVE SOME GOOD STUFF (TRY NOT TO OVERHYPE YOURSELF EITHER AS WELL TO LESSEN POTENTAIL DISSAPOINTMENT, BE HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE AT LEAST AND DON'T BE GREEDY EITHER)

I'M NOT BEING A LAPDOG TO NINTENDO OK, I'M JUST TRYING TO SAY IS THAT PLEASE REMAIN CALM, YELLING ONLY MAKES THINGS WORSE SO JUST STAY CALM AT LEAST.

With that out of the way, Let's go and Enjoy this (Early) anniversary One Shot celebrating the Fire Emblem Series in a way:

Smash Mansion, Melee Era hallways, Entrance to Marth's Room:

'This it is Lucina…. You can do it….' Thought the Ylissean Princess form the Future to herself as she walked down the Hallways of the Melee era Fighters.

'If you can just talk to the Hero King without chickening out, It's a good first step to both making things right with your own Mother…..' Lucina continued her train of thought while banishing the memories of her desperate (And shameful) attempt to prevent

'Ike said Marth isn't as stoic as I once thought he was…' She continued to herself as she glanced onto a piece of paper that the Former gave to her as some advice on what to say to her ancestor while she recalled the talk the Radiant gave to her the day before…..

Smash Mansion, Brawl Era Hallways, Ike's Room, The Day Before:

"Ok…. Lucina, You need some advice on talking with Marth right?" Questioned the Radiant Hero to the Ylissean Princess as she sat down on one of the chairs in his room while he sat on the other.

"….Yes I do Ike….." She answered back to him with some nervousness in her tone despite meeting his descendant Priam sometime after Grima's Death and before this Tournament has begun, Ike was for lack of a better word more harder to approach then his descendant something she has no real issue with however.

"Even if Pit did tell that Marth's not as stoic as I once thought… I'm worried with what he thinks of me being his 'Clone fighter'….."

"Especially if that Waluigi's Guy was true that I shamed Marth's Name…." She continued as doubt clouded her eyes regarding potentially making her ancestor look bad because of her presence and her moves being similar .

To her Surprise, Ike decided to cut to the chase instead of dwelling on what she said and spoke his piece:

"Don't worry about Waluigi and his lies Lucina…." Said the Blue haired Mercenary to the Future Princess of Ylisse, Some noticeable Hatred fueling his words when he mentioned the Infamous Purple Wario Brother. "He's just letting his jealousy of others being in Smash and treating his position in the Tournament as a excuse to rant it on…."

"I guess I can understand that…." Lucina answered back to him while recalling Severa's personal Issues regarding her mother Cordelia and how often she get's compared to her. "But I don't see how this ties in with W-"

"Lucina…. you're better then what you think" He continued with some stern firmness in his voice, Making it clear he doesn't want to mention or hear any more of the Purple Wahster longer then needed. If you really shamed Marth's Name just because of how similar your moves are to each other….."

"He'll have told it to you in the face…. And Marth's not some egoistic prick or God in human form either, He's Human like the two of us…."

"I supposed you're right….." Lucina answered back to Ike with a agreeing tone, No doubt aware of some of the infamous stories and rumors form Pit and Mega Man regarding how the Hero King was seen during the Brawl and Melee Tournaments (More-so the former tournament given how Popular the Fans were for writing fan stories…. Which even CRAZY HAND got into the fun as well) "But what if he's hiding the fact that his disappointed in me, He may not be one to hold a grudge but-"

"Look Lucina, I don't know what or how people look up to Me and Marth in your time…. But I can assure you that Marth DOESN'T hold a grudge towards you AT ALL." Ike finished off with a firm tone, Trying to not scream at the Ylissean Princess. "I spoke to him recently and he said his proud of you despite the similarities you two share move set wise…."

"He's not a god either like that Palutena Lady either I like said before….. Heck he's one of the most humblest Guys I meet in the Last tournament as well…."

Relief soon entered the Ylissean Princess's Mind when she heard the words form her mouth as she learnt form Priam and Pit that while the former's Ancestor can be brash at times, Ike does spoke honestly about others.

"Really? That's a relief…." Lucina said back in relief as she noticed Ike smiling for a small second, No doubt having some extra relief she didn't managed to piss off the Radiant Hero as well. "Thanks for the Reassurance Ike..."

"Well I suppose your afraid of screwing up what you want to say to Marth right?" Ike continued as Lucina gave a nod back to him, No doubt aware of a potential screw up despite whatever advice he gives out to her.

"Listen Lucina it's alright to be afraid of something like this and while I may only known him form what you told me, I know Piram will feel the same way as well…." Ike said back to her as he took out a pencil and paper, and then proceed to write some notes down.

It took like a minute or two but Ike stopped writing and said:

"But I supposed this may help you out in the long run….." he finished off as he gave the Ylissean Princess the written paper sheet.

To her surprise it was some notes on how to communicate with Marth such as topics not to bring up to him and examples of things she can say to him.

"Thank you Ike, for your help on this matter….." Said Lucina in a happy tone of relief, No doubt any doubt on her Ancestor and his potential Opinion on her is cleared.

"Don't thank me yet Lucina…." the Radiant Hero answered back to Marth's Descendant with his firmness still present in his tone. "But I do hope for the best for you at least….."

Present, Smash Mansion, Melee Era Hallways:

'The Advice Ike given me does made me feel better at least…..' Lucina thought to herself as she glanced at the tips written on the paper which she was able to get some good ideas for what to say to her ancestor and the Man she looks up to just as much as her Father. 'But if I can talk to Marth without backing away in fear…..'

'Then I know I'm not soiling his good name…..' She continued to herself when she then noticed the Door with the words: 'Fighter Number: 21, Marth' Embedded on it with the Sword logo that marks the Fighters that came form their Universe.

'Here goes nothing…' The Sapphire haired Princess thought to herself as she knocked the door in a polite maner, Relief that she has inherited her mother's more reserved manerisim outside of battle (That said, She does have some of her father's more Dorkier traits when it comes to reacting to Jokes, She almost never understand them at times)

"Hero King Marth, are you inside?" She questioned to the person whom was hopefully in the Room.

Shortly after she spoke her piece, A Familiar Blue Haired Figure dressed in similar clothing like hers emerged form the Room, Whom was surprised to see her right now.

"Hey Lucina, I was about to head off to get a Drink but it's suprising to see you here at least." Said the Hero King as he looked back at his Descendant whom was looking worried right now.

"Is something wrong right now?" He questioned back to her with concern as Lucina managed to sallowed some of her fear and spoke her words:

"Hero King Marth…. Is it ok if I Come with you?" she questioned back with some slight worriedness in her tone, No doubt still showing some nervousness right now.

"Relax Lucina, You can come with me, and don't worry about Waluigi, He's been banned form the Relaxation room for some past incidents he caused during the last Tournament." Marth answered back to her with surprising no hesitation as he smiled back at her.

"Ok thanks Marth…." Lucina answered back to her ancestor with a smile, something he smiled back to as well.

"No need to be so formal here Lucina," He answered back to her with a chuckle (A Good One fortunatly) "We're all friends here…."

"Now let's go to the Café, Then we can talk some more."

"Sure thing Marth." The Young Future Princess answered to him as she followed him to the relaxation room so they can finally talk, without Waluigi spying on them in the area fortunately.

Smash Mansion, Relaxation Room:

After getting some Hot Chocolate and some Tea Biscuits, Lucina and Marth soon sat down on some of the chairs that are in the Room.

"So Lucina, you're afraid of embrassing me because of the whole Moveset thing right?" Questioned the Hero King as he looked back to the Former whom gave a nod back to her.

"Sadly yes Marth….." Said Lucina with a concern tone as she looked back at him with a worried look.

"I Know Waluigi's not a nice person form Pit and MegaMan but I was worried I shamed you with how similar our moves are to each other… And the fact people say that I don't deserved that Invite form Master Hand** to this Torunament with my Mother because of this…."

"And while I did well in my Matches, I Couldn't shake off the fact that I was often see as an inferior you at times….." She continued as small tears rolled down on her face. "I already felt guilt for what happen with my Mother and my deseprate attempt to stop Grima form being Revived in my time….."

"She may still see me as her daughter but… but… But I felt like I haven't earn the right to do so…"

Upon hearing that his desendant was bullied like that, Marth then gave a small pat to Lucina on her shoulder and said:

"Relax Lucina, You're better then what People say….." Said Marth as he gave her a small pat on the Back.

"Master Hand Won't even have signed you up for the tournament if he really didn't see you as worthy…." He continued much to the Ylissean's Surprise.

"I guess so…." Lucina spoke out to him with a surprised tone as she then smiled back to him.

"Thank you for the advice you given me."

"No Problem Lucina…." Said Marth whom smiled back to his descendant as if he was his own Daughter (Well they're Blood related after all)

"To be fair I got some of my weirder fans during the last tournaments..." He continued as Lucina gave an understandable nod to him when she heard it.

"Yeah I supposed Ike was right when he mentioned you having Rabid fans..." She continued as she recalled the one time Pit shown her that Something called Fanfiction... and it was a MASSIVE Mixed bag for her and Mega Man.

It was interesting that the Events of her Parents and she will acknowledged in some way but the way some stories portrayed her... Can be cringy at times with how they wrote her into a spineless damsel at times in those stories (Something Pit admitted to not liking as well when they made him an EVEN Bigger idiot with a MASSIVE OBSESSION for Food on the Ground at times in those fan written Stories)

"And form what I DID See of them... They can really be a weird thing at times..."

"You can say that again..." Said the Hero King with a shrug as he cringed at the more Questionable version the comunity LOVES to portray him as during the Brawl Tournament.

Before he can continue however, Zelda and Roy showed up with a chessboard box in his hands.

"Oh hey Marth, Hey Lucina, I thought I was wondering if you guys want to play some Chess right now?" He questioned as Lucina perked up slighty at the idea, no doubt a memory of one of the few things she spent with her mother in her original future.

"Sure why not…." Said Marth with a smile on his face. "I'm game….."

"What about you Lucina?" He questioned with a smile to the Ylissean Princess whom took a deep breath before saying her piece.

"I'm…..I'm…..I'm actually into Chess via playing with my Mother during my Childhood…." Said Lucina as she looked back at them. "So I'm game as well."

"Well the more the marrier!" Said Roy with a smile whom looked back at Zelda whom smiled back at them.

"Well then, Shall we get going?" She said as the two Blue haired Heroes sitting next to her gave a nod back as well.

"No Problem, Let's go." Said Lucina as Marth smiled a bit at her growing confidence as they soon brought their drinks and biscuits with them.

'It's not much but it's one step closer to rebuilding your bonds with your Mother Lucina…..' The Ylissean Princess thought to herself as Hope soon filled her body as she did. 'You managed to not humiliate yourself in front of Marth and it's already a massive improvement compared to the start of the Tournament when you couldn't even say hi to him…..'

'I can do it…. No matter what!'

*Ok while the Smash Community grew larger during the Sm4sh/Ultimate era, I can imagine a lot of the Status Quo for stories such as the More OOC Cast (Prissy Prick Marth being one of them)

**In the Deluxe-Verse Fighters are invited by Either Master Hand or Crazy Hand:

Almost all of the Original 12 Smashers of the 64 Era are Master Hand Invited while The Deluxe Fighters, Steve the Piranha Plant, Duck Hunt Duo, Villager and Jigglypuff (The ONLY Member of the Original Twelve to NOT have been Invited by Master Hand)

It was initially thought that Lucina was a Crazy Hand Invite but Master Hand lately revealed HE Was the one whom invited her with her Mother.

Author's Note:

Ok this story MAY be a Copy of Parental Bonds of Smash (The Story where Lucina finally talks to Her Mother AKA Robin after the Matricide Incident and more or less show her that the latter still considered her as her daughter) but I did include some original content beyond just Lucina and the Person she's interacting with (In this case Marth whom get some more non fighting scenes here to showcase his nice guy side) and snuck a few Roy and Zelda moments at least.

As mentioned before, this story takes place BEFORE The Annual Story (Number 4, A Ylissean Christmas), On the Same Boat and Parenteral Bonds of Smash, so DON'T worry, Lucina's NOT regressing in her Sm4sh! Era character Development, This take place before those stories and it's mostly to show how she interact with the other Fire Emblem Characters that aren't her parents like Marth, Ike and Roy (Byleth, Corrin and Kamui will get interactions fics soon…. More so with the latter two due to their…. Rougher Family situations (Blame Takumi, Camilla and Xander for scaring them for life) and how they're hostile to her and Roy because of them)

Ike's Personality is difficult since while he's a fan favourite among older Fire Emblem Fans, He's hard to write him in character due to him not being as merciful as Marth (Or somewhat relatable traits with Chrom/Lucina more so with their dorkiness) and I based Link's Portrayal in the Deluxe-Verse (What little of him shown so far) on Ike in a way….. (Just be happy his not a meathead like the Nohrian Royals though…..)

On the Topic of Ike, Unlike Lucina and Roy whom tried to help Corrin and Kamui out with their Issues, he's not a bully towards them like Bowser's Kids, Wario and Boshi, Ike's hostile towards Corrin/Kamui and the Fates Royals (ESPECIALLY Xander for Obvious reasons for being his Father's Loyal Lapdog when Garon just sees him as a Stray Dog instead, and given Ike dealing with such a situation in his game combined with the events of FE: Heroes of Xander WILLING Working for Verconia (Ala Guzma with Lusamine in the Alola Games/Manga), Ike's reasons for not trusting the Fates Royals are justified)

Speaking of the Nohrian/Hoshidans Royals (Save Sakura whom is more or less the only good member of them in the Deluxe-Verse), I already voiced out they'll be WAY WORSE then in canon (Xander still in denial about the whole Garon being a slime monster thing and Takumi still being a rasist A-Hole towards others (He also an Abusive Big Brother towards Sakura and his Retainers as well) being examples) but fear not! I won't be doing the same to Azura (Even if Corrin's still edgy about their Complicated family tree issues) so she's still herself, Even if her two 'Families' still hated her and each other's Guts however.

As for the Mentioning of Fanfic can be a bit forced for some but I want to sneak in a Take That to the Brawl era Stories that portrayed Marth as this Prissy Person due to the fact he only spoke Japanese in the Dub (Understandable his game wasn't out in the West but Lucas wasn't AS Flanderized as him really spoke about the Community's FE Hatred) And Lucina... Well it's not AS Bad... But she can be treated as someone else (Obsessing over Marth (AND IN AN INCEST LIKE WAY MIND YOU) being one example of this) but Let's just say Roy and Ike aren't Scott free form the OOC-Ness either... (Especially the Former and the infamous Marth X Roy pairing... Yeah I really don't want to say anything on that given shipping can be like a hornet nest at times...)

That and Pit's the Local Fourth Wall Breaker in Video games along with Palutena so there's that.

I think this is the first time writing Zelda in my story outside of her Line back in WoL-DX Chapter 3, She's a popular character yes but as someone whom didn't play a Zelda game sorry if she comes off as OOC and as for Roy, Well He did get some spotlight in Heirs to the Throne so there's that for him.
