Disclaimer: I own nothing except the plot
I woke up to a violent buzzing on my bed. What time is it?
"Ughhhh." I rolled over to find the culprit. I picked up my phone, but the buzzing stopped before I could see who bothered my sleep. My eyes are so blurry I can barely make out the time anyway. I think it's noon, but it's Saturdayyyy. I deserve to sleep in after a late night akuma AND finishing a month long school project. As I went to put my phone down, it buzzed again.
"Alya why do you hate me so?"
Laughing comes through loudly from the other end. I tried quieting her, but she insisted. "Girl, it's noon! I have been holding valuable information since 9am, I did let you sleep in. You're going to need it too because..." There was a dramatic pause in which I had no energy to fill with protest or questions.
"You're no fun. We are invited to a sleepover! And not just any sleepover. No, no. You, Nino and me are going to our Adrien Agreste's house. Tonight."
My eyes shot open and I sat up so quick that my vision disappeared. Grabbing the bed with my free hand, I manage to stutter out, "Wha- what? But what about his father? Me at Adrien's. Me in Adrien's room.. Oh no no no. That will end in disaster. What if I drool in my sleep? I can't sleep near him, you know I tend to cuddle anything near me. Alyaaaa"
"Marinetteeee, you'll be fine! You don't drool in your sleep and that cuddling habit of yours is a good thing. Wake up cuddled in your lover's-" I can't help but point out the emphasis she put on that embarrassing word. "-arms and then you can always blame it on the fact that you cuddle in your sleep, easy! His father and assistant are out of the country for some last minute blah blah blah. It doesn't matter anyway because it'll be just us four having the time of our lives."
"I am going to ignore the fact that you just called us lovers when I just started being able to speak normally in his presence." Which is true. I have upgraded from stuttering every word to normal conversation. At school, not in his house. As long as he doesn't do anything cute, or look at me or smile that amazing natural, breathtaking smile or...who am I kidding this is going to be a disaster. I throw my blankets off of myself and race down to my closet.
"How long do I have to get ready? I now have to squeeze into my schedule at least a half hour freak out session."
With a laugh (and I'm pretty sure an eye roll), Alya says, "We are eating dinner at his place at 5, so we need to be there at 4:30. I'll swing by to get you at 4 so we can get Nino together."
"Four!? I have to go! I should have started getting ready a half hour ago!"
"What happened to only needing a half hour to freak out?"
"I need to shower, freak out, pack clothes freak out over what to bring, get my hair done, freak out over if I am bringing too much, freak out that I'm not bringing enough, and try to squeeze a nap somewhere because all the freaking out will wear me out before the night can even begin." I spoke so quickly that my head spun, I think I'm low on oxygen.
"Girl- breathe. What am I going to do with you? Just don't pass out before I get there. See you soon!"
Alya is going to be the death of me. I glance at Tikki, sitting on my computer, staring at me. Her knowing smile helps to ease my mind.
Till I remember I only have three hours and fifty-eight minutes left to get ready.
Nino rang the doorbell at precisely 4;30, how we were on time with all of my freaking out...I'm still wondering. We each carried a bag for clothes, blankets and pillows. The amount of blankets that Alya brought should be a sin. Being the good friend that I am, I took on half of her luggage. It just so happened to block my view, more time to calm my nerves and catch my breath. Alya guided me through the opening gate and up to the door where we would meet Adrien.
"Hey dude! Ready for the best night of your life?"
Adrien's heavenly laughter filled the air. My face began to heat up. Deep breaths, I'm going to have to put down these blankets soon and Adrien can NOT see a tomato behind them.
"-need help?"
Alya elbowed me in the ribs to get my attention, but not soon enough. Was Adrien talking to me? Still not being able to see anyone in front of me, I mouthed to Alya, 'what did he ask?'
With a devious smile, Alya ignored my question. Instead she faced Adrien and said, "She would love the help! Marinette has too big of a heart to ask for it herself."
"Alya all of these blankets are yours, not mine." My glare at Alya faltered when I felt warm hands connect with mine. Despite my innate ability to be clumsy, Adrien was able to grab half of the blankets from me without dropping any on the ground. Isn't he just the best?
We all followed Adrien into his large house and up to his room. This is the first time I have been in his room as Marinette and boy does it seem so much bigger. Be cool, I can be cool.
His room was set up how it normally is. Big, open and lonely, but we are going to have to change that tonight. There are a couple windows open letting in a cool breeze into the warm room. Beneath the windows is a huge table filled with all kinds of snacks and drinks. I wonder who he had to bribe to get these snacks in here, considering they are the exact opposite of a model's diet. Chips, dips, cheese puffs, cookies, croissants, sodas: you name it and he's got it. Extra blankets were spread out across the couch in preparation for us coming. As cool as it can get at night, there are way more than necessary. I think Adrien is in desperate need of a fort.
"Dude! You have surround sound speakers! Sweet, this is working out more perfectly than we could have imagined, right babe?" Nino dropped his bags down next to the couch so he could give Alya a full body hug.
Alya just rolled her eyes and laughed. "Nino, we just got here. Let me at least put down my stuff first before we tell them our plans."
I passed the rest of the blankets I was holding into Adrien's awaiting arms before I placed my own bags down behind the couch. "What is that supposed to mean. Are these big plans?"
"Yeah, what did you guys have in mind? I didn't try planning anything other than food because you guys said you had it covered." Adrien shifted on his feet, rubbing his neck. "Not that I would know what would be best to do anyway."
Alya pried off Nino, dropping her belongings on the floor with the rest of ours. That's when I knew I was in trouble. Alya's famous, vicious smirk came back. It was directed at me. This cannot be good. She better not be planning anything to get me alone with Adrien, it's too soon. We just got here! Do I look faint? I feel faint. Some friends I have, do they know that being a wing-man is only a part time label?
"One word: karaoke."
