Gavin Reed, a simple man, was chained up for horrendous crimes as he fulfills his role as the Deadly Sin of Greed. He takes and takes until there is no more but he is a selfish man and he knows what he wants. He knows that what he wanted most would never be his to claim and that broke him inside a little more each and every day.

He laughed silently as he heard those guards on the other side of his cell discussing the other Sins. He wanted to see if his Captain, North, was still as strong as she used to be before they were left to scramble by themselves, all alone.

Hearing the conversation steer to the topic of their loved ones and children, Gavin couldn't help the sour look that slowly spread across his face, remembering the moments he had died to forget. He growled out around the metal bar that was unceremoniously shoved in his mouth to silence his rambling. Hearing those guards talk about those they loved he felt his hackles ruffle as those ungrateful bastards were talking about all that he had lost.

He decided enough was enough and he ripped the metal contraptions out of the wall, the chains rattling around on the ground. He cared not about the weight of the chains but of the weight he had to carry around daily for he wasn't strong enough to protect the one and only that he had offered his heart.

Walking towards the door the chains screeched upon being dragged on the dirty cement Gavin was forced to stay on. The guards had hushed as they fearfully backed away from the cell door. They flinched back with their body weight as a footprint appeared on the door before it slammed into the wall opposite of it.

Both burly guards let out unmanly yelps as they fell to their knees as Gavin came out, tearing the metal rods out of his legs and arms. The holes slowly closed as the skin slowly reattached itself from bone to muscle to skin. The guards watched on in morbid fascination.

Gavin stretched out his abused, contracted muscles as he looked at the two guards that looked on the verge of passing out, even with all the armor they had on. A vicious grin full of malicious intent was aimed at the two before he reached out and took both body suits of armor into his hands. He let his grin widen as he slowly stuck his arms through their torsos, feeling the blood and organs mush around his muscular hands that slowly squelched through their bodies.

Both men squirmed and whimpered as they felt a foreign object burn through their internal organs as they felt their blood and life slip through this monster's hands. They watched in trepidation as they were gently set down on the cement before Gavin twisted his arms and pulled his arms out, making sure to grab the intestines on his way out. He let the guards watch and feel the pain of slowly being gutted, letting them suffer a pain no less than his own.

"I hope you have an enjoyable time finding your loved ones in death." Gavin let go of the squishy organs, letting them hit the ground with a wet squelch. He slowly walked down the hallways, keeping his mind off of the one he would never forget.

He followed the noises of loud banging and where the dust of cement being torn down originated from. As he reached the obnoxious rumbling, he saw two of the other sins, Envy and Wrath, Leo and North. Gavin couldn't help the chuckle that slipped through his throat, what an awful combination for those two to be together.

"Yo! Captain North, Leo! What are you two doing here?" The two Sins looked in his direction and North let a smile brighten her face.

"Gavin! We came here looking for you, seems you got out by yourself though. Makes me wonder why the fuck you didn't get out before!" Gavin glowered at her for that, she just chuckled and glared.

"I needed time to contemplate, as hard as that may seem possible." Leo gave Gavin a dirty look and shook his head in disbelief. "Whatever it is your stupid ass was doing, we need to go and look for the other Sins."

Gavin looked at them before shrugging his shoulders, nodding along with what was being discussed. "I guess I have some time to spare for the likes of yourselves." North chuckled at that and wrapped an arm around his wide shoulders. She dragged him along at her own pace with Leo begrudgingly following along sides them.

The trio had traveled for days before they spotted another town, however desolated it may have appeared. North had led the tiny group and once they had reached this town she splintered off from the men, stating she had some business to attend before they could regroup. Leo glared at Gavin, the two never being the ones to get along with each other.

Leo grumbled and walked away from Gavin, raising his hand to flip him the bird, Gavin simply returned in kind. Gavin turned his back to the others and wondered into the small desolate town, not really expecting anyone to be residing in the aged-out location.

That was why Gavin was absolutely devastated and hopeful when he saw a mop of brown hair and fair, smooth skin.

"Connor..."

Gavin couldn't help but to let the name slip through in his moment of weakness before the one he was looking at turned. He realized it was just an unfortunate child who he desperately hoped was the one he has been yearning for. Before the Sin of Greed could speak the child fell to a lump on the ground, deathly pale and in desperate need of nutrients.

Gavin couldn't stop the way his body yearned to pick the child up and feed the poor thing. Not one for sitting around he lifted the child and walked to a fruit tree he had spotted earlier during his short walk.

Once at the trunk of the tree he set the child down and hopped and ripped a ripe rosy apple off one of the branches. He crouched down and slowly tapped the child's cheek with the back of his hand.

"Wake up child, I bear some fruit," the child had slowly roused until he was blinking up at the Sin. When he became aware of his surroundings, the child jumped and tried to run but Gavin was fast and slammed a hand down on the lithe shoulder and holding out the apple as a peace offering.

"Eat this, if you need more you are under the tree that produced it," he stood up after the child grabbed the apple and left before the child could speak any words of gratitude.

Gavin reached his previous spot before the encounter with the child, before continuing on further into the desolate area. He wondered about the dirt streets when all he could feel was a sharp metal object get shoved through his chest cavity and pierce through his heart and important vital organs.

Gavin couldn't help the pained smirk that had grown on his face as he felt the blood from his chest spurt out and dribble down his clothes onto the rough ground. A whisper resounded through his right ear and he could tell it was the Sin of Sloth, Sumo.

"I will torture you, the way you have slowly tortured me by taking away my baby brother, my life and love." Gavin didn't know how to react so he spun around and grabbed Sumo by the collar and pummeled him into the dirt, watching as clouds of dirt puffed up and around the two men. When he got a good look at the other Sin, he realized Sumo had tears gathering up, threatening to run down his soiled, dirt-ridden cheeks.

Gavin couldn't bare the sight for long so he landed a strong punch to Sumo's face, feeling the spurt of blood as he felt the crack of the nose beneath his fingers. He stepped away from the downed body and quickly retreated from the body that was slowly getting itself upright.

As Gavin ventured around, he stumbled upon a field of purple hydrangea and he couldn't help but stumble to his knees and chuckle in bemusement as he remembered the meaning of the flowers, heartfelt sincerity. He remembered the purity of the smile that his Faerie had gifted down on him. Gavin couldn't tell that the flowers had drawn in and created a small tornado around his crouching body, too focused on the misery his muse left upon him.

Gavin couldn't really tell he was somewhere else until he felt the soft touch of the man he held in his arms as the Faerie shared his last breath with the Sin of Greed and want. He looked up and his breath hitched in his throat as he saw his beloved darling, his muse.

Before he could process what was happening Gavin reached up and brought the angel before him down and into his lap. He grabbed his love's soft cheeks and forced him to look at his face. The face looking back at him, the eyes staring up at him, oh god his eyes he missed them so, were absolutely shining and Gavin couldn't stop the sob that rippled up and out of his throat as he gently pressed his lips to the one he had offered his heart, his soul.

Connor had few tears running down his red cheeks as he gently pressed his lips back up onto the rough, chapped ones that were pressing to his in an earnest way he had only felt in his fading moments.

Gavin had big tears strolling down his cheeks as he pulled away from the kiss to look at the beauty that was supposed to be protecting what he had unrightfully taken.

Connor, as if knowing what was passing through his loves head, reached up and took Gavin's cheek in his hand and let the other man snuggle his face into the same hand that he had felt slowly get cold as the life slipped from its body.

"My Darling, you cannot stay here for long, for you are not dead," Gavin sobbed harder as he put his hands on top of the one of his cheek, refusing to let go. He didn't want to lose his Babe all over again, not again, he wasn't ready.

Connor let a gentle smile overtake his features and he reached up with his other hand and grabbed Gavin's other cheek, "I will forever be with your soul, you know I will." Gavin refused to look in Connor's eyes, knowing he would have difficulties leaving his precious once again.

"Gavin, in those few days I was around you I felt happy and so fulfilled for I was no longer alone, left to rot and watch the Fountain of Youth," Connor forced Gavin to look him in his eyes at his next words, "you showed me how to love a human, how to be happy and content and I cannot thank you enough for all that you gave and all that I took."

Gavin moved his hands so they were on both of Connor's cheeks, "I'm the one who should be bowing down to you, for you let me take and take and take but you still had more to give," Connor's laugh was like wind chimes on a warm day that was accompanied with a gentle breeze.

"I love you Gavin Reed, and I thank you for all that you have given and shown me. But now is not your time, you need to go back to the realm of the living my Darling."

Gavin let out a strangled noise but slowly nodded his head, "I will be back to claim what is rightfully mine," Connor's perfect face flushed as he let the remaining tears flow down his cheeks.

Gavin placed a gentle kiss on those soft, plump lips before his body began to fade away and he was back in the field of hydrangea flowers.

Gavin Reed, a normal human being stood in front of a ferocious demon who was known as Amanda, holding one of her many hearts in his hand, a grin on his face as he turned his body to look at the one he had fallen for in the past 7 days.

Connor's face was that of concern as he ran towards him, trying to warn the one he knew could take away all his lonely days and fill them with love and happiness.

Connor Anderson has a lot to say about his father and brother but the only thing that really sticks out to him is that they had abandoned him here, left to defend the Fountain all by himself

He had spent the past 700 years by himself before an interesting human came climbing up his tree, humming about the Fountain of Youth. Connor would have none of it and flung the human off into the forest not expecting to see the other again.

Connor fell, and he fell harder than he would like to admit.

"I wish Gavin came here to steal me instead of the Fountain of Youth," he mumbled as he lay on his stomach, reading an old book.

"I'll do it, take you away for me to have and love."

Connor squealed as his face flushed and he whipped in the direction of his current desire.

Gavin had the most shit eating grin on his face as he approached the one he had come to enjoy.

Connor dragged his bloodied body to the man who was bleeding out on the floor, wanting him to wipe the pain and fear off of that bedraggled face.

"Did you save the Cup?"

Connor nodded as he had his tree root lift it but dropped it as he lost the power and Gavin's hand shot out to balance it and stop it from spilling out.

"Connor, drink it, save yourself," Connor sobbed.

The demon laid down, bloody and dead as Gavin kicked it off the edge of the tree, wishing the demon's life could bring back his precious beautiful Connor.

Connor took a big swig out of the Cup of Youth and dropped the cup and dragged his bleeding and broken body to the slowly dying human.

Connor picked up Gavin's head and lowered his face until he was kissing Gavin and forcing him to drink up the magical water.

Gavin Reed sat with his beloved's head laying on his lap as he slowly reached up and Connor spoke of his undying love for the one man that backed off when he said he couldn't have the water.

Gavin recited his own love but he hadn't the chance to finish as Connor's pale, cold and bloodied hand went limp and hit his thigh.

Gavin let the tears fall as they pleased,

"Damn it, at least let me finish."
