Chapter 1: The Hogwarts Express

It was the first day of September 1971, and the Hogwarts Express was filled with children from 11 to 18.

Two young 11 year olds, one a pretty red haired and green eyed girl and other a dark haired boy in poor condition clothes, stumbled upon a compartment filled with two identical twins.

"Hello, can we sit here? There's not much room in the rest of the compartments." The red head asked.

"Sure, hop in." The girl with the school robes along with a blue tie spoke with a warm smile, "I am Aurelia, by the way. Aurelia Sorcelli. 2nd year Ravenclaw. Call me Lia though."

"Astrid Sorcelli, 2nd year Slytherin." The other girl who wore similar robes but with a green tie introdued herself, much less quite and welcoming then her sister.

They both had nice fair skin and dark brown hair and vibrant blue eyes. The only slight difference between the two was that there was a shade of dusty blue streak in Aurelia's hair but Astrid's hair had sea grean streaks.

"I am Lily Evans and this is Severus Snape. This is our first year here." The younger girl introduced herself cheerfully.

"Muggleborn?" The Slytherin questioned.

"I am half and she's muggleborn. Got a problem?" Severus Snape questioned the older girl.

"No, not really. Just curious." Astrid replied.

"Ay, any seats here?" A voice asked and everyone looked over to see three first years at their compartment.

The first one was a tanned boy with messy hair and glasses. The other one was a pale skinned boy with long black hair. The third was a boy with sandy brown hair and lots of scars on his face.

"Yes James, Sirius, you may sit with us as long as you aren't planning to cause any trouble." Aurelia told them.

"Aww comon Aurie, you love us." The boy with long hair, Sirius Black spoke, before hopping on the seat.

The twins rolled their eyes at the oldest Black heir, before Aurelia questioned the third boy, "And you are?"

"Remus Lupin." The boy with scars replied, putting his hand for a handshake which Aurelia shook kindly and invited him to take a seat.

"Lia, it looks like we have made an sanctuary for the first years." Astrid told her sister.

"Well we can always help them so they don't get lost or bullied and other stuff." Aurelia spoke.

"We're second years, it's nit like we can do much. And really, no need to go all noble, no one makes a second year a prefect." Astrid replied.

"Records are made to be broken." Aurelia replied with a shrug.

"So, do you have any idea which house you'll be in?" James questioned the first years.

"Well my entire family has been in Slytherin, so I am hoping to break the tradition and be gryffindor." Sirius replied.

"I want to be gryffindor too!" James exclaimed excitedly.

"I hope they're not as reckless as they sound." Severus muttered quietly to Lily.

"We're not reckless, we're brave!" Sirius exclaimed.

"Sure." Severus rolled his eyes.

"Well where do you want to be, genius?" James questioned.

Severus smirked and spoke, "Slytherin."

"Gee, and I thought you were decent." James muttered.

Astrid gave him a glare and questioned, "And what's that supposed to mean Potter?"

"That all Slytherins are dark wizards." James replied casualy.

Sirius nodded in agreement stating, "My family is a proof of that."

"I am sure a dark wizard or witch wouldn't invite a bunch of first years to sit with them." Astrid retorted rolling her eyes.

"Well I guess there are a few exceptions. Very few though." Sirius admitted.

Astrid huffed, "For your kind information, not all of us sick bastards."

"Merlin himself was a Slytherin. I don't remember any books stating him as a dark wizard." Aurelia decided to back her sister up.

"Fine fine, not all Slytherins are bastards. Happy?" James finally surrendered.

"Thank you." Astrid nodded.

"Okay, I am a bit confused about these houses. What are they?" Lily questioned confused.

"You don't know about houses?!" James exclaimed, looking shocked.

"She's a muggleborn, James. Anyways, there are four houses, Gryffindor of the brave and courageous; Slytherin of the cunning, ambitious and resourceful; Hufflepuff of the loyal and hardworking; and Ravenclaw of the wise, intelligent and creative." Aurelia explained.

"That's so cool. How do they sort us?" Lily asked.

"There's a sorting hat, it basically reads your mind in simpler terms, although in technical terms is called legilimency." Aurelia spoke.

"Expect a Ravenclaw know it all to know everything." James rolled his eyes and Aurelia threw the box of chocolate frog at him, retorting, "Not all of us Ravenclaws are know it all bookworms!"

"Wait, what if one doesn't have any of the traits?" Lily questioned nervously and the twins chuckled at the muggleborn's concern.

"Every human has a particular percentage of each of these traits Lily, the hat just sees which one is more than others." Aurelia spoke.

"Oh."

"Hey Remus. Why so quiet?" James questioned the silent boy, before realising the boy was busy reading some book.

"Oh, I just didn't see anything to speak so I thought I stay quiet?" Remus replied nervously, placing his book down.

"The school hasn't even started yet and you are already reading?" Sirius questioned, wondering how a person can do that.

"Well I don't see a problem with reading ahead. It's a great thing to do so Remus." Aurelia spoke.

"Of course you'd say that, spoilmood." James muttered rolling his eyes.

Suddenly the train stopped and the group realised that they have reached their destination.

"Well can we promise eachother one thing before leaving?" Lily asked to which everyone else looked at her as she continued, "that no matter what house we end up in, we'll always be friends."

To which the rest of the smiled and nodded.

And that's how, this group formed for the first time.
