Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Highschool DxD. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own DxD, Ichiei Ishibumi and a few others do.
He continued running, now looking over his shoulder with interest. He couldn't see his pursuers, but that just made it worse for him. He couldn't see them, nor fathom where they might be.
It just made sense for him to run faster, letting his wings take care of the act of escaping. They'd get him easier if he was on the ground while not trying to draw attention to himself.
"Where did the brat go?" He heard as he took cover behind a group of rocks. "He took the crest! We needed it; the boss will have our heads if we don't get it back!" The young boy heard and clenched the brooch to his chest.
"Mom said find her and get out of there." The boy heard while thinking to himself once more. "And to get this out of here." The boy added as the 10-year-old looked around.
He knew the people had plenty of reasons to want him dead. There were countless people who wanted nothing more then to hunt him, they'd do nothing but hunt him or heckle him for his mixed ancestry. It made him so confused and offended that people judged him based on that. He couldn't believe it, but he didn't much care.
His pursuers wouldn't care, why should he? Their prejudice is not uncommon among his kind. He knew that far more well than anything else.
"I still cant believe he stole it from us!" One of the voices yelled as he continued to hide. "That damn pest… I should have thought that mutt would get lucky, his mother was one of the damn lucky ones… I thought we were supposed to be wiping them out." He heard as he pulled the brooch into one of his coat pockets.
"Some of that family escaped and came back." The boy also heard which made him look over the cover at them. "Their resilient, you kill one and they swarm back like roaches. You ask me? We should have just turned the area into a crater. It would have taken the same amount of effort and gotten better results. Now one of those pups is running around, and he stole the master's brooch.
He cleared his throat before one of the rocks moved slightly. The boy blinked and then leaned backwards at the moment. He knew for a fact that they'd kill him, child or not.
He continued to look for an escape route. He wanted to leave; this was scaring him more then anything.
"What was that?" He heard as he spread his wings. "One of you go check it out." He heard before he flew off, black wings flapping and ferrying him away from where he was currently.
"Get that worthless mutt!" He heard and tried as much as possible to flap his wings faster, anything to carry him further and further away from this area.
They were just as fast. It would be stupid to think his young wings could outrun theres when they had been around for so long. He, however, was more agile and twice more cunning.
He took a sharp left which sent the burly man smashing into the wall. He blinked once more and the climbed up the cliff wall and then turned to look backwards. The men who were trying to grapple him launched a pair of light spears at him.
The young boy dodged the spears at the moment. They smashed into the wall and burned away the rock.
"Give us that brooch, you damned animal." One of the men hissed while holding out his hand. "We know where you're going, I bet you don't want your little girlfriend involved, do you?" He heard while the boy clutched it closer.
The men grinned and rushed at him only for him to flap his wings. They smashed into the wall below him as he started to climb up the wall once more. The small boy looked down at them as he continued to climb once more.
He looked once more around at he sighed and then spread his wings once more and he hummed.
"Mom, what did you want me to get this?" He asked as he turned and leapt off the mountain. The men followed after him.
