The final months of middle school wound down. Collège Françoise Dupont readied itself for finals, and the upcoming formal dance. Most of her friends, and classmates already had dates, or plans to go with their friends, with few exceptions: Adrien, who's father had already denied his request to attend, Chloe', who deemed her only appropriate partner was Adri-kins, and herself, Marinette, too hopelessly in love with Adrien to even think about enjoying the dance without him.
As she sighed longingly at the back of his head her best friend, Alya, nudged her. "Girl, I can hear you pouting from here, we all knew it would be a long shot that his dad would let him come to the dance next week, but don't let that bring you down. We are still going to have an amazing night!" she squealed in excitement.
Her boyfriend Nino looked back at the two of them upon hearing his girlfriends excited whispers, and nudged his best friend Adrienne to turn too. "Hey dudes, I was actually thinking, Since Adrien's dad killed our dreams of the formal, maybe we could do something the next day, like Anti-Formal?" Nino offered
Anti-Formal? With Adrien?! Marinette held in a scream!
"That's Brilliant! What do you have in mind Nino?" asked Alya.
Nino thought for a moment, his friends eyes all filled with hope about this new idea "how about we go to the arcade on the other side of town? Or the laser tag arena! You ladies can wear your dresses again and us dudes can dress up too!" Nino said triumphantly.
Miss Bustier cleared her throat at them. It was a free period, but they still had to respect the rest of their classmates.
"OoOoOoHhH" said the friends together in hushed voices.
A few of their classmates looked over to see what they were all talking about.
"I'll message everyone after class," said Alya, already whipping out her phone and creating the mass text for the rest of their friends. "This is going to be SO much fun!"
"Hopefully this will go over better with my father, and I can claim it is just going out with friends over summer." said Adrien hopefully.
