*PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE STARTING THE FIC*
Hello my peoples! If you're reading this, thank you for choosing this story as a way to spend your 3am. Anyway, for those of you who have read my other fic, don't worry, I will update soon, this is just something I wrote AGES ago and I thought I should publish it.
This story is taking place between The Last Olympian and The Lost Hero, just before (*Spoiler*) Percy disappears.
So, without further ado, I present to you New Girl. Hope you enjoy!

This new demigod was different, Percy could tell. As a senior counselor, it was his responsibility to give a tour of camp to the younger ones. Today, he was giving a young girl a tour with Annabeth.
The newest addition to Camp Half-Blood, 12-year-old Mira was a sight to behold. Her hair was as dark as Chaos (Percy knew this from personal experience). She had a complexion that all the Aphrodite girls could only achieve with monumental amounts of makeup, and freckles dashed across her nose. Mira's skin was tanned from evidently a lot of time in the sun and her accent was foreign and strange. Irish maybe? Australian? What was that other country near Australia that he couldn't remember the name of? Middle Zealan or something? Percy didn't know.
But the one thing that really set Mira apart from anyone else was her eyes. Her eyes. Percy thought they were similar to his own sea-green ones actually, but Mira's were more of a deep blue, as if they were coloured of the deepest ocean.
Percy was interrupted from his thoughts when Annabeth not so softly nudged him in the shoulder.
"Isn't that right Percy?" she asked, smirking at him playfully. Percy could see Mira's lips turning upwards at his obliviousness. He decided it wasn't worth trying to lie and sagged in defeat.
"Um… What was the question again?" He said mournfully, knowing the two girls were mocking him. Annabeth rolled her eyes and muttered "Seaweed Brain", and Mira concealed a not-so-subtle laugh behind a cough. Luckily for Percy though, Mira swooped in and saved him before Wise Girl could mock him more.
"Where will I be sleeping?" she said, directing the question to Percy. Annabeth gave him a look that told him she wasn't finished with him yet and answered Mira's question.
"Your parent hasn't claimed you yet, so you'll be sleeping in the Hermes Cabin, Cabin 11. Thankfully though, you should be claimed soon because this guy," she said, elbowing Percy in the ribs (hard), "made the gods promise to claim they're children by the time they're 13." Mira nodded, but before she could say anything else, Connor and Travis Stoll came and directed her towards Cabin 11.
The classic Stoll Brothers repeatedly tried to pick her pockets, but Mira, with her eagle eyes, somehow caught them every time they attempted it.
As she walked away, Mira turned back to Percy and Annabeth and winked, holding up two brown wallets Percy instantly identified as the Stoll brothers. Annabeth raised her eyebrows, but Percy simply grinned.
This new girl was AWESOME.
Annabeth Chase was looking forward to a relaxing evening with her boyfriend, but that turned out to be not the case. That night there was (unfortunately) no Capture the Flag, so Chiron decided that the campers would have a 'beach party', where everyone went down to the beach just before sundown. Everyone was excited and grabbed their beach towels and snacks before heading down to the peaceful shoreline, Annabeth included. All the girls had changed into their bikinis, with the Aphrodite girls naturally showing WAY too much skin then was necessary, and all the boys had their swimming trunks.
Annabeth was toward the front of the massive group heading towards the beach, so she saw the set up first.
Someone had strung multi-coloured fairy lights around the trees and tiki torches lined the shoreline. Trays with tropical drinks lay on the sand and flower leis were being strung around camper's necks by the invisible wind spirits.
So, Annabeth, hand in hand with Percy, got their towels and found a spot on the sand, sipping drinks. Other half-bloods were setting up as well, with many of them leaping in the cool water of Long Island Sound to escape the stifling heat.
"Hey Percy, what did you think of that girl Mira today?" Annabeth asked Percy, as they laid down on the sand, watching the younger campers.
"She felt… familiar." Percy admitted, "Like I'd met her before."
Annabeth's eyebrows knitted together as she was thinking. Percy noticed and turned around to face her.
"I know that look Wise Girl," he said, "What is it?" She sighed and looked her boyfriend dead in the eye.
"She looks like you, you know that? And she said that she loved the ocean, grew up on it."
Percy blinked.
"So?" he asked.
Annabeth groaned. "Sometimes you're such an idiot Seaweed Brain." Annabeth was going to say more when shouting voices came from the water.
Yes, I know it's short, but the next chapter is more dramatic. Just a warning, my updating will be practically non-existent, so please don't be too upset with me about that.
Sorry.
Anyways, I should update tomorrow anyway, so stay tuned and enjoy!
