Summary: On the edge of a weekend together, Ken has plan to spoil Daisuke rotten.
"I'll find it, just give me a second."
Ken started to open his mouth and tell Daisuke that he didn't need to do that. Before he could, Daisuke backed out of the refrigerator, bottle of plum wine held high.
"I told you I'd find it!" Daisuke beamed at him, and Ken had to smile back. It was hard not to do so when Daisuke looked so happy.
Soon both of them had glasses of wine to go with dinner. This wasn't an expensive wine, but a nice plum wine that he'd developed a taste for over the years. He tried not to get very drunk often – being drunk when he tried to design a new building usually resulted in a building that couldn't ever be built and quite likely had never even heard of the laws of geometry and science in general.
"What did you want to do this weekend?" Ken asked as they worked their way through dinner. Daisuke, as always, was a fantastic cook. Ken had a few ideas on what they could do, including having a good dinner out somewhere. Daisuke didn't have to cook for every meal, even if he enjoyed doing so.
Daisuke leaned back in his chair, forehead wrinkled. "I don't know. Was there something you wanted to do?"
"I have a thought or two," Ken admitted. He decided that dinner, both nights, would be a surprise. He liked surprising Daisuke. He made the most adorable faces when he was surprised.
Even now, Daisuke's eyes brightened and he smiled gloriously. "Do I get to ask?"
"Oh, you can ask if you want to," Ken said, diverting his eyes to focus on his food. "But that doesn't mean I'm going to tell you."
Daisuke didn't actually pout. But he did a very bad job of pretending he didn't want to. Ken managed to keep himself from laughing, from sheer practice over the years. Daisuke somehow managed to make him laugh, even without trying to, several times in a day. It was just one of the reasons Ken loved him so very much.
After dinner, with the dishes set in the sink to wait for someone having the inclination to take care of them, the two of them curled up on the couch together. Daisuke's arms tucked around Ken, and he rested his chin on Ken's neck.
"You're not going to tell me what you have planned, are you?" Daisuke murmured. Ken smiled a slow, lazy smile.
"Why would I do that? Do you like being spoiled?"
"When you're the one spoiling me? Yes." Daisuke retorted, getting himself as comfortable as he could.
This was going to be a good weekend, Ken thought. The restaurants he had in mind were excellent, and there were other ways they could spend the rare weekend off with one another. All he had to do was keep his mouth shut for a few more hours.
Daisuke would love it. He'd see to that himself, in every way that he could.
The End
Notes: I also wrote this for SilvorMoon, for a tumblr prompt involving writing what came after the first sentence.
