Danny shifted from one foot to another, uncomfortable under his parents' gaze. Today, he planned on telling them. His friends and sister are in the kitchen, prepared with their own restricting devices in case things go horribly wrong.
The thought of his parents actually making use of their promise of dissecting him and tearing him apart molecule by molecule terrifies him and knowing his friends are waiting and backing him up helped boost his confidence only by a small amount, sadly.
"Mom… Dad…" He started, but the fear of them shooting their blasters right through his chest made his feet wobble like jelly. "I… I'm…" He can't get the words out. It was seemingly stuck in his throat. He almost wanted to cry.
He felt a comforting hand squeeze his shoulder and found his mother's amethyst eyes stare at him lovingly. "Whatever you're going to tell us, we'll support you, no matter what." Her words hit him like a train. So, in a stuttering mess, he blurted out, "I… I'm Ph-phantom."
