What's up with Doc?
Or, the one where Meredith and Addison can't stop texting each other.
Monday evening
Meredith: What's up with doc?
Addison: Doc is doing okay, he's adjusting to his new home.
Meredith: Does he like it? I know he can be a bit fussy at times.
Addison: I think he likes it. He likes the outdoors at least.
Meredith: He better be well-behaved. I know he's not fully housebroken… Sorry about that.
Addison: It's alright, I've been taking him out every hour or so, and he only comes in once he's… Ready. Seems to be working.
Meredith: Oh good, maybe you'll have better luck than I'd been having. He kinda destroyed our house.
Addison: Let's hope so. In the meantime, I'll try to keep my expensive shoes out of Doc's reach…
Meredith: Good idea! Thanks again for taking him.
Addison: No problem, feel free to come by to visit sometime. THE DOG… I mean… Yeah…
Meredith: Will do, I already miss Doc ;).
Addison: Goodnight, Dr. Grey.
Meredith: Goodnight, Addison.
Addison: It's still Dr. Montgomery to you.
Meredith: Goodnight, Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd.
Addison: There's no need to-. Oh forget it. Goodnight.

Tuesday
Meredith: What's up with Doc?
Addison: Are you on some sort of retro movie kick?
Meredith: What?
Addison: Seriously!? I am NOT THAT OLD.
Meredith: I never said you were… And what's wrong with that? It's a good movie. Plus, Barbra Streisand, am I right?
Addison: Whew, I thought I was getting old if you didn't understand that reference.
Meredith: I got it. I get you ;).
Addison: Alright, Grey.
Meredith: So how's our dog?
Addison: Doc's doing well, he's adapting. I think he likes the land around here. Figures that Derek's obsession is worth something to him.
Meredith: Is he housebroken yet?
Addison: Well, more like 'trailer-broken,' but what can you do?
Meredith: Trouble in paradise?
Addison: It was small with two people, now with two, plus Doc it's… A lot. Not that I'm complaining. Doc's a sweetheart (mostly! But you know that!). He's currently on my lap, enjoying himself while I read my book.
Meredith: And message me :).
Addison: And message you.
Meredith: What, no smiley face?
Addison: We're co-parenting a dog Meredith, this doesn't make us friends.
Meredith: Want to walk Doc together sometime? I'll bring hot cocoa.
Addison: Maybe.
Meredith: I'll come by tomorrow at three.
Addison: Okay.
Meredith: Goodnight Dr. Montgomery.
Addison: Goodnight, Dr. Grey.
Wednesday
Meredith: Do you think Doc would prefer chicken or pork treats? I'm getting him a present because it's been a while.
Addison: He's on a diet.
Meredith: No he isn't, he's a puppy and he needs food. I'm getting both.
Addison: Doc doesn't need more treats we feed him!
Meredith: Ooh, if you're that jealous I'll get you some too.
Addison: I don't eat dog treats.
Meredith: Not dog treats. WAY BETTER.
Addison: Okay, what is it then?
Meredith: Meet me and find out.
Addison: ?
Meredith: Told you they were the best doughnuts in Seattle.
Addison: They are pretty tasty.
Meredith: They even go well with cocoa. I'll bring some along on our walk.
Addison: Oh my goodness so many treats.
Meredith: I'm not above feeding for affection.
Addison: Are you above anything these days?
Meredith: Hey, that was mean.
Addison: It was. Sorry.
Meredith: Kiss it better?
Meredith: Are you there?
Meredith: Hey, I didn't mean to offend you. Why are you ignoring me?
Meredith: Goodnight, Addison. You'll stop pretending not to see these messages in the morning.
Thursday
Addison: Vet appointment. 9am, I'll bring Doc. Thought you'd want to know. He's been limping.
Meredith: Oh no! Are you okay?
Addison: I'm alright, thanks Meredith.
Meredith: I'll meet you there. Also, I'm sorry if I was too forward the other day. I'll back off. *Hugs.*
Addison: See you soon.
Friday
Addison: How's your day going?
Meredith: Are you lonely without Doc?
Addison: I'm just worried about him. The vet said one night, just to see. I hope he's okay.
Meredith: Me too.
Addison: He was walking funny for a while. Didn't seem to want to go out. That's how I figured out there was something wrong. I wish I caught it sooner that's all.
Meredith: It's not your fault.
Addison: Thanks, Meredith.
Meredith: Do you want to come over? We're having pizza and we could talk more.
Addison: Sure.
Meredith: See you soon. I'll put the kettle on.
Addison: Alright. I'll bring over some extra cake that we have.
Meredith: Ooh! Cake! Did you make it?
Addison: I live in a trailer, have you seen how tiny this kitchen is?
Meredith: When I was in College, I made mug cakes. I'll show you.
Addison: Isn't your kitchen big enough to make a real cake though?
Meredith: Probably. But I don't know how to make those.
Saturday
Meredith: Did you get home safe?
Addison: If I didn't, hours would have gone by and I could have been in any range of brutal accidents since then.
Meredith: Glad you're safe :).
Addison: Thanks :/.
Meredith: Has the vet called yet?
Addison: Not yet. Still waiting. Should I call him?
Meredith: Idk, what if he's in the middle of something embarrassing, like sex?
Addison: In his office?
Meredith: Like you've never had sex in an office.
Addison: No comment.
Meredith: Idk, maybe wait an hour or so and then call?
Addison: Okay.
Meredith: Okay.
Addison: Thanks for being there yesterday.
Meredith: Thanks for letting me know.
Addison: Being a dog owner is hard. I feel like I'm doing it all on my own sometimes.
Meredith: Derek?
Addison: He's at work. Or if he's home then we'll fight about it. We fight a lot these days. Sorry if that's TMI.
Meredith: It's okay. We're friends. You can talk to me.
Addison: Okay, we can be friends.
Meredith: We weren't before? I'm hurt :(.
Addison: Okay we were friends before, too.
Meredith: Friends gotta stick together right?
Addison: Right.
Sunday
Meredith: The vet called. He says that Doc is in remission.
Addison: He called you?
Meredith: Yeah.
Addison: He knows Doc is staying at the trailer right?
Meredith: He does… he might have had… Other reasons for calling me…
Addison: Such as?
Meredith: He asked me out. On a date.
Addison: Oh.
Meredith: He's nice, and fun. And he's a better guy. Should I go?
Addison: Do you want to go?
Meredith: I think I will.
Addison: Oh.
Meredith: He says we can go for a walk with Doc and then bring him by later. Is that okay?
Addison: Sure, Meredith. Yeah, that's fine.
Meredith: It doesn't sound fine to me?
Addison: Like I said. It's fine. I'll see you later.
Meredith: Are you mad at me?
Meredith: Are we still friends?
Meredith: I don't want to do this if we can't still be friends :/.
