"So what you are telling me Shizune, is that we have had a known Uzumaki here in Konoha besides Naruto? Is that correct?" Shizune nods, as Tsunade pinches the bridge of her nose in frustration. Tsunade eyes the bottle of sake currently sitting under her desk, before shaking her head.

"Is (it that) kunoichi who was part of the sound kidnapping squad?" A nod. "Fuck… Anbu!" A cat masked operative drops from the rafter beams off the office, followed by some dust falling down with them. Tsunade sneezes, before glaring at the operative. Tsunade swears she can hear snickering from the shadows, yet pays it no mind… for now.

"I'll deal with you all later, for now, go get me Uzumaki." Neko nods from her spot on the floor, before flickering out of the room.

Tsunade drums her fingers on the oak desk, the desk her grandfather made when he first made Konoha and had the very first council meeting long ago. She stares at the open file on her desk, containing a piece of information she wishes she never had to reveal….

Hmph. The brat better be appreciative of me after this. Telling him about his family, especially right after I finally caught up with all the paperwork sensei had left me adding on to my own… The things I do for family. She glances at a small picture frame on her desk of herself and Jiraiya ruffling a bemused teenage Naruto's hair. She smirks as her window opens, letting the cool night breeze into the office. Naruto flips over the desk, landing in front of Tsunade.

"Baa-Chan? What's so important it couldn't have waited until the morning? Is the world in danger again? It's not the Akatsuki again, right? I swear if there are more of them, I am gonna-" Tsunade puts a hand up, quieting the blonde chatterbox instantly. Naruto rubs some sleep out of his eyes, straightening a tad as well.

Tsunade gets up from her chair, moving to the windowsill and sitting on it. She looks down on the moonlit village, taking in the peaceful sight.

"Sensei had a feeling about something that he couldn't look into fully before he kicked the bucket on us. I have been trying to catch back up on his paperwork lately and….

Naruto looked curiously as he urged Tsunade on.

"And…?"

Tsunade sighed "... and I found something kid."

"Well, what is it baa-chan? You're killing me with the suspense here! Spit it out!"

Tsunade wryly smiled and said, "It's rather difficult to say, kid…."

Naruto raises an eyebrow

"Baa-Chan, you know whatever it is you can tell me right? No matter what it is, my view of Jiji won't go away… He was a great man and he did everything he could to look after me. No matter what I-" Tsunade puts up her hand again.

"It's not bad. Well, it could be depending on your viewpoint I suppose. Though knowing you, it'll be more of a shock than anything. Do you remember who the people involved in the mission where Sasuke left?" Naruto scratches his head.

"There were those four bodyguards…. Plus Shikamaru, Neji, Choji and Kiba as well. Oh yeah, Gaara and his siblings came in later to save us as well If I remember correctly. Why?"

Tsunade sighs against the window, before standing up. She motions to the anbu, sending them out of the room.

"."

"One month before the invasion, a spy for Orochimaru had been caught snooping around the village's restricted areas. Sensei was informed about this person and the techniques they used. Apparently, this spy was adept at using seals, seals that sensei was familiar with. He had this suspicion that the spy may have been related to the Uzumaki clan and started researching. However, other matters took priority and the whole matter was buried. I uncovered this piece of information by coincidence and started looking into it... in order to finish what he started." Naruto remained silent as Tsunade continued

"The convict disappeared right before the invasion. We assume that one of Orochimaru's other lackeys may have helped in the process."

Naruto simply stares at Tsunade in shock, before taking a seat on a cushion in the corner of the room. He pinches the bridge of his nose, taking a deep breath in. He lets it out, looking back up at Tsunade.

"It's that chick that Shika fought isn't it?" Tsunade nods.

"How did you guess?" Naruto shrugs.

"My mom had red hair, so does that one Karin girl Sasuke used to work with. I would have red hair if it wasn't thanks to dad. Red hair must have been a common trait in my clan. She's the only one who would make sense. But how do you know?" Tsunade picks up the folder and tosses it to Naruto.

"(It's given later that she has no relation with Naruto but how are they able to do the blood test then? So yeah) We used some of the family registers that were recovered after Uzushiogakure had fallen. It was tricky as most of the information contained within were lost but we were able to find something useful. Turns out, Your mom's cousin had a sister who married into a small clan in Kiri. We were able to fill in the gaps and found out that this one may be her granddaughter considering her age. She's a distant cousin basically. So she has no connection to you through blood really, if there is some it's not even worth mentioning since it didn't show up. I'm guessing her father's genes are more dominant, considering her abilities." Naruto nods as he grips the folder, staring at Tayuya's gaunt facial features.

"So what's the use of saying this to me? As far as I know, she died after she faced Shikamaru"

Tsunade scowls, "I wouldn't be having this conversation with you if it were. Look at the end of the file."

Naruto looked at the end of the file, reading it out loud "-Subject was recaptured after the rescue team was dispatched to recoup Team Shikamaru and their mission target, Uchiha Sasuke."

"I have family here." He whispers as tears start to fall onto the folder. He closes it quickly, looking up at Tsunade.

"I don't care what the council tries to pull here, I won't let them take her. She's a part of my clan and that makes her my kin even if it's a distant one." Tsunade nods minutely, having expected as much.

"Can I…. Can I go see her? Maybe take her back to my apartment with me?" Tsunade nods.

"I'll let her go considering she is still injured. She has served enough of a sentence but the condition of her legs are pretty bad Naruto. I still need to look at them myself in all honesty." Naruto nods as both he and Tsunade move towards the door.

"Let's go see her then." With that, they walk through the door to Anbu hospital.

They arrive at the Anbu hospital as the rain slowly starts to fall down onto them. They nod to the two guards standing outside, before heading inside of the grey building. Opening the doors, numerous anbu mill around before stopping and bowing to the two of them.

Eventually, they turn down a hallway lit with red lights. Only one room is in the hall, with two guards on each side of the door standing by. They reach the door, pausing at the door Tsunade turns to Naruto.

"Keep in mind she doesn't really want to be here Naruto. She may try to bite your head off or something." Naruto merely nods, before pushing the metal door open. Inside is a semi-awake redhead with gaunt features. Her eyes snap open though at the sight of Naruto.

"Your-your you are an-'' She stutters as she eyeballs Naruto. Naruto moves forward to the bed, getting down on one knee so he isn't towering over her.

"Uzumaki Naruto, yes I am. I hear you are an Uzumaki as well." Tayuya nods, trying to swallow. Naruto moves to put his hand on top of hers, gently looking at how frail and skinny she is. Before he can say anything, however, large chains pop from both Tayuya and Naruto's backs, whipping through the air and interlocking with each other. The two of them stare at the chains before Naruto is suddenly yanked over the bed on top of an already panting and pale Tayuya. Tsunade plucks him out of the air before he can land on top of the already fragile girl. Tayuya groans as the small amount of chakra she has drains from her reserves, turning her close to the same color of snow. An anbu jumps from the wall, placing a Chakra Suppression seal, which Naruto immediately examines upon seeing the seal. Glaring at the poor seal, he shakes his head while unsealing some supplies before removing the seal completely. He takes out his own seal as he glances at Tayuya. He looks up to her pain-wracked gaze, her brown eyes half-open from chakra exhaustion and anguish as she slowly gives out agonizing pants from sheer exhaustion. Gently, Naruto caresses her wrist. "

I can help take the pain away, but it will only be a little bit. I will be back later with better help, so stay here alright?" Tayuya barely tips her chin down, yet the wariness in her eyes seems to speak volumes to the teenage blonde as he tries to speak to her through her eyes.

Your my family now, I won't let anyone hurt you again.

Warily, she nods her head. Naruto gives her a gentle smile, before placing it gently on her wrist as Tayuya moans in pain.

Naruto places another seal on his own wrist quickly, activating both seals. Tayuya slowly starts to turn a more healthy shade of skin as chakra is replenished into her system.

"I didn't think the chains would react like that…" Tsunade's voice trails off as both Naruto and Tayuya look at each other.

"That's a level seven Chakra Transfer seal, it should help keep her chakra levels steady, especially since we are from the same clan. Though Baa-Chan… Why is she so sick? Can't you cure her?" Tsunade nods, then shakes her head right after.

"The council won't let me heal her since she is part of the reason they lost their 'precious' Uchiha for so long. Trust me I have-" Naruto puts up a hand.

"If you won't do it because the council ordered you not to, then tell them to fuck off and go around the fucking bastards. They have no power anyways. This is my fucking family and they dared to try and hide her under Jiji's stuff, I know it." Naruto looks to Tayuya.

"I'm going to get you healed, you are going to move in with me and we will go through my moms old scrolls together, to try and figure out what our clan used to be. They are not stopping me, not this time."

With that, Naruto bolts from the room, making his way into the village in the middle of the night. Tayuya who has been silent all this time all but grumbles out weakly, still recovering from her injuries

"Where's….he….going now?"

"More than likely to ask one of two people something you will be forever thankful for. I didn't even get a chance to tell him about the council's orders for him.."

Naruto races through the village as the moon hangs high in the air. Leaping over buildings before stopping in front of a small apartment in the single shinobi housing. He runs up to the small apartment, banging on the door loudly. Rustling comes from behind the door as muffled curses come from within. Slowly footsteps get louder until the door is swung open with vigor. Sakura opens her eyes as she rubs some sleep from them.

"Wha- huh? Naruto? What are you doing here so late? Do we need to go save the world again? Goodness, what did you do this time? Or is it Sasuke's turn to have everything go to hell? I can't remember who's turn it is in all honesty. Well, whatever it is, it can wait unti-'' Naruto steps up in front of her, causing Sakura to stop speaking.

"Sakura, I am asking this as a friend. I need you to heal someone, please….you are the only one who can. " He gets on his knees, placing his head on the ground. Sakura flushes, picking him up off the ground with barely any strength.

"Get off the ground you damn idiot and come inside already! I will make some tea and you can tell me everything then alright?" With a nod, Naruto walks inside of the apartment, moving to the small table as Sakura makes her way to the stove, placing a teapot on the stove and turning it on. Once the tea is made, Sakura pours two cups and hands one to Naruto carefully. She sits down at the table, making herself comfortable.

"So, who exactly do I need to heal? And why am I the only one? Can't Tsunade-Sama heal her?" Naruto sighs as he sips his tea.

"Baa-Chan isn't exactly in the position to heal her since the council forbids her from doing so. She was part of the team that had helped Sasuke escape back then and the council feels that she may still be a threat to the village.. You're the only one who could save her legs beside her and….. She's an Uzumaki, Sakura." Sakura simply stares at Naruto for a few seconds, barely moving or breathing as Naruto looks at her pensively.

"The damn council then huh?" Naruto nods. "It's the girl that Shikamaru fought too isn't it? The one with red hair and that flute?" Another nod.

"How did you know?" Sakura simply gives him a look.

"Idiot, how much do you think I studied in the academy? One of the main characteristics of the Uzumaki was their red hair. Honestly, if it wasn't for Lord Fourth, you would probably have red hair as well. So she could be the only one that makes sense, Plus, I heard your mom had quite the temper, as do you."

"I do not have a temp-" Sakura gives him a pointed look, as Naruto shrinks back into his chair in dismay.

"See? I remember Shikamaru saying she was easy to provoke, so it makes sense. Though I don't like her, she is your family Naruto. Your happiness is worth more than a petty grudge I hold."

"Sakura I-" Sakura puts up a hand.

"Let me get dressed first, and then you can take me to her. We can go from there alright? I won't take your family away from you, nobody has that right." Sakura gets up from the chair, moving to her room as Naruto moves towards the door. Some minutes later, Sakura emerges from her room in her normal outfit.

Leaving the small apartment, Naruto beelines back to the Anbu Hospital. Sakura struggles to keep his pace somewhat, but they manage to reach the Hospital in a short amount of time. Nodding to the two guards once again, Naruto makes for the room where Tayuya is, with Sakura in tow. Opening the door quietly, Tsunade grabs it and throws it open.

"I figured you would go get my apprentice. Well, come on then, get in here you two." With that, Tsunade drags the two teens inside of the room. Naruto flies into the wall, leaving a large indent inside of the wall. Sakura stumbles, falling into the metal side of the bed. Glaring at Tsunade, she gets up with a large bruise on her shoulder.

"You want to go already, you old coot?" Sakura storms up to Tsunade, her hands balled into fists.
Tsunade merely smirks back at her former apprentice.

"Oh please. You are millions of years from even touching me, you poor sweet baby. I barely grabbed you and you went flying. I expected it from Naruto, but from someone who has supposedly surpassed me, you certainly don't seem to have done so... yet." With a huff and a glare, Sakura marches to the clipboard hanging on the wall. She cringes after a couple of seconds as Naruto, who was still inside the wall, finally peeks his head out.

"Sakura-Chan?" Sakura looks up from the clipboard to the blonde emerging from the wall, dusting some debris off his jacket.

"Sorry Naruto-Kun, it's nothing. I just didn't think that you were serious when you said that only me or Tsunade-sama could heal her. " Naruto scratches the back of his head, chuckling lightly.

"I was just saying what Baa-Chan said, that's all I swear! You know I'm no good with medical stuff. Sealing and Jutsu? Sure, but any of that other med stuff I just get so lost." Sakura merely smirks at the dumbfounded blonde.

"Well, I can heal her legs. But Tsunade-Sama, is it a good idea to? I mean, are you not healing her for some other reason?" Tsunade merely shakes her head.

"The council is just being petty and doesn't want me to heal her. They think I am the only one capable of healing her. They are almost correct of course, as per usual with the old coots, yet they are still wrong. So go ahead."

With a nod, Sakura moves to Tayuya, who glances wearily up at her. She flinches, trying to back away. Naruto moves to the edge of the bed, taking her hand in his.

"It's ok. She won't hurt you. Sakura is like a sister to me, she won't hurt my family. You can trust her." Sakura gives her a genuine smile, as Tayuya gives a minute nod to the pinkette.

Slowly, Naruto strokes the top of her hand with his thumb as Sakura goes about healing her legs. Using Mystic Palms, she concentrates as a couple of doctors rush into the room as well, helping hold the legs still Tayuya scrunches her eyes shut in pain, biting her lower lip.

After a couple of minutes, Tayuya loses control and screams in agony as her originally burnt and twisted legs slowly untwist themselves.

Painfully, the sound of bones crunching and moving echoes against the silent walls, save Tayuya's screams of torture. Sakura pours more chakra into the technique, watching some of the burnt skin slide off, showing new pale skin peeking out from beneath.

After an hour, Sakura stops the technique, drenched in sweat. Tayuya's legs no longer look like charred twigs, instead, they resemble the legs of a brand new infant, thanks to the new skin. The legs, however, still twisted unimaginably, remain to be fixed at a later date.

"I will have to prepare her for surgery for the rest of the healing. I won't be able to do it with just the Mystic Palms, I'm afraid. Luckily, I was able to get rid of the burnt skin, bringing the skin cells back to life with new chakra. Your lucky Tayuya, if I hadn't been able to do that, then there would be no hope of operating on them. We can do the operation in a week or so, for now, I will need to look over some old notes with Tsunade-Sama to determine some options." Tayuya opens her eyes as sweat rolls down her forehead, yet a smile full of gratitude beams up at the pinkette.

"Thank….you." She manages to croak out, exhaustion lining her body. She gives a happy smile to Naruto, reaching for his hand. He takes her hand inside of his, his hand dwarfing hers by a good margin.

"Family.." With that, Tayuya passes out from exhaustion. Naruto smiles down at her as tears well inside of his eyes. Some escape, landing on her arm. He gets up, walking to a smiling Sakura. He pulls her into a crushing hug, air leaving her in a rush.

"Thank you. You've given me the one thing I have always wanted a chance at." Sakura's shoulder turns wet as she smiles, hugging the emotional blonde back.

"Baka." She mutters back with a scowl, "Are we not your family then? Me, Tsunade-Sama, Sasuke, and everyone else in the village?"

Naruto who heard that started getting jittery, "W-w-well, t-t-this a-aa...and t-t-that are d-differ-" He stopped as Sakura smiled, understanding what Sakura did to him "You tricked me!" whined Naruto "I couldn't help it. You were always the one pranking others so I thought it would be nice for a chance to do it to you." giggled Sakura before continuing on,

"Nevertheless, I understood what you meant before Naruto and I'm happy for you but know this, I will always be here for you, just like you have always been there for me, Sasuke, and everyone else. Also, don't go getting any funny ideas with her. If you know what's good for you. I'd hate to have to break her face if she breaks your heart." Naruto gulps as he nods, before releasing the pinkette and moving to Tsunade. She quirks an eyebrow up at him, before being lifted off the ground in an equally crushing hug.

"Thank you as well Baa-Chan. Thanks to you, I have a chance at a family once again." Releasing the coughing blonde Sannin, Naruto turns to Tayuya's blissful form.

"Her hair sure is beautiful though.." his voice trails off as Sakura splutters from behind him. He grins at her sheepishly, before a tap on his shoulder turns him to a semi-serious Tsunade.

"Now that the first part is cleared, you two come with me to my office right away." With that, the trio exit the room as more doctors rush in, as well as an anbu to monitor Tayuya.

Walking outside of the hospital, the chilly night breeze strikes the trio as the doors open. At a glance with each other, they nod and take off from in front of the hospital. Sprinting through the village, they cross each other as they race to Tsunade's office.

As Sakura and Tsunade dash inside from the bottom floor, Naruto enhances his legs with chakra from the ground before leaping up to the open windowsill of Tsunade's office. The door bursts open as Naruto enters the office from the window. A cry of "I win!" echoes through the small office. The trio smile at each other, before moving to some of the furniture.

Inside Tsunade's office, the sun slowly rises on the village as Naruto and Sakura lounge inside her office. Naruto, sitting on one of the small couches in the corner, stares at Tsunade from his position.

"What did you need to talk to us about Baa-Chan? What else am I missing?" Tsunade simply sighs, shaking her head before continuing.

"It's about your clan Naruto, and the re-establishment of it within the village."
