-VELOX THE DRAGON KNIGHT
(Part 1/2)
Bright rays of the sun penetrated through the canopy of tall green trees, falling upon the dusty dry ground. The fallen dried brown leaves crimpled and crumbled under the feet of the wanderers. It was around 5 PM, the sun brightly shining, cool breezes blowing through the green trees, ruffling their leaves. The sounds of birds chirping, bugs buzzing, and crickets _ echoed through the forest.
"Can't believe we're lost!" Came the annoyed, exasperated and furious voice of one of the wanderers, the female brunette one.
Her Ruby orbs glistened in the sunlight, but instead of being filled with happiness and joy, they were furious and irritated. Her chocolaty brown hair, a little longer than shoulder length, were loosely tied in a ponytail, as the shorter locks splayed out, hugging her cheeks, the front bangs clinging to her fair forehead. Clad in a sleeveless black t-shirt along with an orange cotton shirt with sleeves folded till elbows, and a knee length light-blue denim shorts, Hilary Tachibana's white sports shoes crumbled the dried leaves under her feet, as she angrily stomped on the forest path.
Getting the true feels of how much of a headache it is to just roam around in a jungle, Hilary tightly shut her eyes and yelled again, "Can someone hear me?! We're here! Help us! We're lost in woods! Help-"
Just before her sentence was completed, a masculine hand was placed on her mouth, shutting her up. Hilary's brows twitched in annoyance as she realized that her best friend actually dared to stop her mid-sentence.
The angry Ruby eyes turned to their left, where they met a pair of similarly angry and irritated Auburn orbs. His deep lush navy-blue locks, in their usual hair-do, splayed upon his back, tied in a ponytail, while the front bangs, flowing freely in the cool breezes, with a baseball cap on top of his head. His well built arm's muscles were evident in the half-sleeved black t-shirt, with his neck and collarbones visible. Clad in a light-blue jeans, and red sports shoes, Tyson Granger glared at his best friend, his hand still stopping her from speaking.
"Listen here," Tyson began with heavy sarcasm, annoyed Auburns still digging deep into the equally annoyed Rubies, "We are in the middle of a forest, and call it our bad luck or what, there is no trace of humans anywhere around, the only living being here are wild animals!"
Scowling at the brunette, Tyson noticed her Ruby eyes and fair skin form a similar scowl, daringly penetrating his Auburn orbs. They both were similar after all, hard-headed and stubborn, there was no use of trying to boss her. But still, if Hilary was Hilary, then Tyson too being Tyson, didn't back off a bit in glaring at her, obviously receiving the same response.
"Stop acting like kids, Hils," Tyson said sighing tiredly, removing his hand from her mouth, "We aren't supposed to yell in a forest, if anyone would come to help us here by hearing our voice, then it would surely be a tiger or supposedly a wild bear."
Completing his wish to enlighten the brunette, Tyson looked at her face again and scowled on hearing his best friend murmur something sounding like, "Coward."
"What did you just say?!" Tyson yelled furiously, just as Hilary looked at him sarcastically.
"I said you are a coward!" Hilary yelled back, leaning in closer to his face, "So, now you can't even hear your praising?!"
"This isn't a praising!" Tyson argued leaning in, "It's jealousy! You are jealous that I am the smart one here, the one who doesn't want to be a tiger's toast!"
"Oh yeah?!" Hilary glared slashing through his Auburn orbs as their noses were just an inch apart now, "I call it cowardice! If we don't yell, how would anyone know we're here?!"
"And that anyone doesn't need to know we're here!" Stubborn as he was, Tyson yelled, "I know the way back to home! Now no need to use that brain of yours, I can lead us back before sunset!"
"You're saying that since we entered the jungle three hours ago!" Hilary backed off and turned around, nose high up in the air, eyes closed, and her arms folded on her chest, the characteristic pose of their Russian captain.
"You are so annoying!" Tyson yelled turning around and forming the same pose as Hilary, "If it wasn't for you and your stupid big mouth, we would surely have been at home till now!"
Hilary turned around furiously, "What do you mean?!"
"I mean," Tyson faced her, sarcasm dripping in his voice as he said, "That you are distracting me! Instead of helping me find ways, you are complaining that I am the one who is at fault for getting us lost in woods!"
"Well no doubt you are the one who got us in this mess!" Hilary yelled, "I was happy, safe and sound at home, and you showed up there, asking me to come here with you, just because you wanted to show me something!" Hilary clenched her teeth, "Now, we are lost because of you! I didn't even get to know what you wanted to show me! Tell me, what was it?!"
"I-It's a surprise…" Tyson mumbled, his anger turning into shyness all of a sudden as he looked at the ground, pretending to kick a stone, trying to hide the tint of pink on his cheeks.
Hilary blinked her Ruby eyes in amazement. A second ago, he was fuming with anger, and now he's all shy and clumsy like a five-year old school girl. Though not to mention, this shyness, and not to forget that faint blush, was kinda cute in Hilary's eyes.
Looking at Tyson, Hilary's anger turned into awe at once. Chuckling slowly, she moved forward and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Tyson, you know what?"
Already rid of the blush by now, Tyson faced her and asked suspiciously, "What?"
Hilary closed her mischievous Ruby eyes and said, "You're looking like a five-year old school girl right now."
Realizing what she just said, Tyson yelled burning beetroot, "Hey! What was that?!"
"The truth, Tysie!" Hilary laughed merrily, sprinting away just as Tyson tried to catch her. "Hey wait!" Tyson yelled running behind her, himself laughing merrily as he chased her.
"Catch me if you can, Tys!" Hilary laughed running ahead of him, as he revved up, laughing alongside her.
"Hils! Wait for me!" Finally speeding up to her pace, Tyson bound his arms around her waist from behind, swaying her up from her feet, taking two rounds in the air and placing her back on the ground again.
Hilary chuckled closing her eyes, while Tyson just stared at her partial face from behind, hands still bounding her waist, as he smiled slowly on noticing how her face lit up in the sun rays. Tyson sighed contently, placing his chin on her shoulder as she stopped chuckling and looked at him.
"Uh…Tysie?" Witnessing the position they were currently in, Hilary asked clumsily with a tint of pink on her cheeks. The grip on her waist tightened a bit as Tyson buried his face in her now open brown locks, nuzzling his nose deep inside them, getting lost in their fragrance as he closed his Auburn orbs, cherishing the silkiness of her chocolate hair.
Hilary's lips parted as she rolled her Ruby orbs backwards, closing them slowly as Tyson's nose touched the side of her neck, sending chills down her spine. Not able to recognize what he was doing, Tyson pressed his lips against the side of her neck, as her body shivered on the tickles dancing on her fair skin.
"T-Tyson…." Hilary whispered slowly, as she opened her eyes, nervousness evident on her face as she bit her lower lip, cheeks all flushed.
"Hummnn?" Tyson asked absent mindedly, trailing his tongue down the side of her neck, as if lost in another world, not getting her point a bit. Hilary closed her eyes and gulped before whispering, "Get away."
Tyson's eyes shot open as he realized what he was doing. Prying his hands away from her waist, he nervously took a few steps away, burning red by now. Hilary turned around and looked at him as he just kept on looking at his toes, hands forming fists. Auburns met Rubies as Tyson lifted his face and looked at her.
Clearing his throat, Tyson spoke, "I-I'm sorry. I just got carried away a bit." Breaking the eye contact, he started walking away, signaling her to follow.
Blinking confusedly, Hilary ran up to him, following him and then picking up pace to walk beside him.
An awkward silence settled between the two as they kept on walking. It was hurting to keep quiet for the two people who are always annoying together. Finally getting exhausted by the silence, Hilary popped up in her usual cheerful tone, "So, how far are we?"
Tyson stopped walking and looked left, then right before directing his gaze to upwards. "Hummn…" Prodding his chin with his index finger, he said, "I don't know."
"What?!" A vein popped up on Hilary's forehead as she yelled angrily, "But you said you know the way?!"
"Will you just calm down?!" Tyson yelled back, "I'm trying to concentrate!"
"Oh really?!" Hilary stomped near him and argued back, "Then, tell me Mister Einstein, where are we? You are-"
The brunette was stopped from speaking again, but this time not by her best friend. It was because of the bushes at a distance of two feet, as it rumbled, making the teenagers to doubt the presence of a creature behind the bushes.
Hilary gulped before speaking with a shaky voice, "W-What's that?"
"We're in the middle of a forest." Tyson said focusing at the bushes, "It could be any wild animal." Hilary gasped on thinking about what it might be.
Tyson slowly stood in front of Hilary, shielding her as she stared at the bush from behind him. The bushes rumbled more, as Hilary covered her eyes with her hands, still glancing at the bushes from between her fingers, while Tyson just stood in front of her protectively.
"Look," Tyson said to no one except the bushes, "Whatever the hell you are, we are not afraid of you. No use of trying to scare us like this. If you have got the guts, then come out and show us what you've got." Tyson spoke smirking a bit as Hilary stared at his partial face with awe.
The bushes rumbled more, Tyson chuckled a bit and said, "And if you're a ghost or a monster," He paused as a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead, "Then stay where you are and we won't bother you, ghost-bro!"
Tyson chuckled nervously as Hilary fell anime-style, angrily glaring at him, "What was that?!"
"What else was I supposed to say?" Tyson asked annoyed, "Come and eat us, ghost-bro? You want me to say that?!"
"Tyson!" Hilary yelled horrified, pointing at the bushes as he turned his Auburns and at once froze at his spot on the view of long tail-like object prying out of the bushes.
"Wh-What's that?" Hilary asked bounding her hands around his arm as he stared at the bushes in shock.
"I think it's the tail of the animal. Seems like a wolf or fox's tail." Tyson said sweating bullets as Hilary gasped.
"B-But it's blue…" Hilary said confused about the fact that the tail actually was oceanic sky blue colored. Tyson twitched his eyes and noticed it too.
Just as they were pondering over the fact, the bushes parted away as the being finally came out. Tyson and Hilary shut their eyes tightly as they screamed on top of their lungs, wishing that the wild animal would go away after hearing their screeching screams.
Hilary tightly bound her arms around Tyson's neck, burying her face in his chest, as he possessively clutched her back and nape of neck, both scared as hell, as they kept on screaming.
But what was weird is that they heard a female human voice yell consolingly, "Guys! Guys! It's me!"
The tightly shut Auburns and Rubies opened on hearing the familiar voice. As they directed their gaze towards the source of the voice, their eyes fell upon a familiar figure.
The slightly annoyed lavender orbs of the female were twitched in annoyance as she glared at the teenagers who were still holding each other tightly, seated on the ground. Her knee length oceanic sky blue hair, left unbound carelessly as always, flowed in the breezes and her fair skin glowed in the sunlight. The slightly short girl, even more stubborn then the two, leaned down and smiled at them sarcastically, as her white fangs glistened. Clad in a light green cotton slim fit shirt and a short brown denim shorts, along with light brown boots, Dash glared at the two.
"K-Kia?" Tyson asked stuttering, followed by a nervous chuckle as Hilary too started chuckling, sweating beads.
"Ya, it's me." Dash Iwata scowled as she said, "And may I know what made you think that my hair are a wolf's tail?"
"Uh…" Tyson said, trying to come up with an excuse, just then Dash sighed and said standing straight, arms folded on her chest, "It would be better if you two would just stop hugging each other."
Realizing they were still in the same position, Tyson and Hilary jumped a feet apart, as Hilary stood up first, dusted her clothes and scowled at Dash, "We didn't think of your hair as a wolf's tail, it was more precisely a fox's, just because you are one, Kia."
"What?!" Dash yelled furiously, "Firstly, It's Dash for you, Hils. Only Tyson has the right to call me Kia!"
"And secondly, It's Hilary for you, Dash. Only Tyson has the right to call me Hils!" Hilary seethed with gritted teeth as both the brunette and blunette engaged in a glaring battle, while Tyson just sweat dropped sighing tiredly.
Getting up and dusting his clothes, Tyson finally spoke, "Okay girls, hope you are done with your usual quarreling session." He looked at both of them as the stood there angrily pouting, "What were you doing here, Kia?"
"I was…" Dash said thinking deeply with arms folded and lavender orbs tightly shut, "I guess I was here for some flowers?" She said more as a thought than a assertion, then the bulb finally lit up in her brain, "Oh Yes! I was collecting flowers! I found some in the bushes too!"
Opening a small bamboo basket, Dash showed Tyson a bunch of Lavenders, "Aren't they pretty?" She asked expectantly.
Tyson chuckled softly, as he picked one of the Lavenders and tucked it behind her ear, as a tint of pink spread on her cheeks, "Of course they are, as pretty as your lavender eyes."
Dash chuckled slowly, still blushing, while Tyson too started chuckling. But a certain brunette wasn't entertained as much as the two blunettes. Rubies flaring with fire, Hilary stomped up to Tyson and Dash as she said in her high-pitched voice, bounding her hands around Tyson's arms as a pink tinge occupied his cheeks now, "Well, that much is enough for now. It's about time for sunset, and we need to get home!"
"Whoa," Dash said furrowing her brows, "You two didn't tell me what you are doing here?"
"We're lost in woods since 2 in afternoon, that too just because of my dear best friend who wanted to show me something here." Hilary seethed glaring at Tyson while he chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Oh, so you don't know the way back to town?" Dash chuckled slowly before smiling and saying, "That's fine. I'd tell you. Just follow this straight path, then a parting would come, take left, then you'd have to cross the woods again, there's no way to tell the direction, just keep on walking in North, an opening to the main path to the town will come, and that's it."
The tired and drained out faces of the two best friends brightened at once as they both yelled happily, "Thanks a lot!"
"Come on guys, It was nothing!" Dash said smiling brightly.
"Really, Kia," Tyson said grinning, "You showed up like an angel today."
"To be truthful," Hilary said slowly, "You aren't that bad. I've started liking you," she took a sharp breath before speaking again, "And sorry for calling you a fox."
Dash blinked surprised by her actions, and then grinned showing her trademark fangs, "It's alright Hilary! And I too am sorry. By the way, you weren't wrong speaking about the fox thing, everyone says my eyes are like a fox only." She said laughing heartily as the other two joined in.
TO BE CONTINUED...
Hence, it's left in a cliffy. Wait for the next and final part! Btw, how's Dash? She's me after all, she has to be amazing :P
