Chapter 1

"The Beginning"

Merlina waking up from a dream filled with ghosts and a repeat of tragedy children getting slaughtered, even an image of Maxus her friend being taken, lined up and beaten with the rest of her village so frightening she jumps out the bed hyperventilating trying to catch her breath she realizes her mother rushing around the house so frantically.

Merlina: Mother, why are you in such a rush?

Catherina: Merlina I need you to get cloth from the weber.

Merlina: Isn't it too early….*mother interrupts*

Catherina: MERLINA!…..*sighs*please just get it.

Merlina: Okay…..*storms out, mumbling along*

Merlina then walks through the village making her way to where the weber is in the deep forest where the trees cover the sun and the leaves hide the bugs. She then hears a sound rushing towards her, she tries to see from which direction it comes from but gets dizzy from going in circles. the sound gets closer and then she feels someone push her she looks up in anger.

Merlina: MAXUS! YOU DUMB FOPDOODLE!*Merlina gets up and pushes Maxus back in shock*Oh my God I am so sorry Maxus.

Maxus sheds a little tear and wipes it away quickly so he would not seem like a wimp*

Maxus: YOU SHOULDN'T WALK ALONE IN THE WOODS IF YOUR GONNA BE AFRAID!

Merlina: I am sorry I did not mean to push you. It's just you came out of nowhere and nobody usually comes through here but mother and our uncles.

Maxus*sighs*...It is okay. But where are you going? You look very upset.

Merlina: Well *hesitation*... mother yelled at me to get cloths.

Maxus: HAHAHAHA…..

Merlina:...It is not funny at all.

Maxus: Hahahaha it very much is but I really came in here to look for you. I have something for you. I made it myself…..*Merlina looks at him sideways* Well… my mother made it*Maxus hands her an obsidian necklace* Mother said it is supposed to protect you from evil but I thought it looked so cool.

Merlina gives Maxus a big hug and gives him her favorite ring*

Merlina: Thank you so much you can have my ring. It does not do much but it looks cool

Maxus Mother: MAXUS!

Maxus: I have to go…..be careful out here.*Maxus runs*

Merlina*yelling in the distinct* THANK YOU!

Merlina then arrives at her destination She looks around to realize that nobody is around. She walks up to the weber door and yells for him but hears nothing. She sees that the door is cracked a bit and takes a peek. She is intrigued by what is in there and steps one foot in and lets her body do the rest. She sees some cloths and looks through them but the further she looks behind the cloth she realizes that there's a hidden cabinet and opens it up to see the most shocking thing.

Merlina: Are those…. eyes?*she slowly walks backward and bumps into a person, she turns around and sees it's the weber. She is in shock, walks backward fastly then falls to the ground.

Weber: You should have not been looking through my stuff you child *sigh* Now I have to kill you. So sad you are such a pretty girl. *with a smirk on his face*

The weber then walks up to Merlina, she then tries to run by him but the weber catches her by her hair. She tries to reach for the needle and starts to feel the building shaking the weber then looks at the shaking building Merlina reaches for the needles and stabs him in his left eye. She gets up to run out the door as fast as possible not looking back she makes it back into the woods and trips over a branch in the distance she saw the building golfed in flames. She is not sure how it happened but gets up with one bloody knee and speed walks home she then sees random people in her village. Merlina feels a tug on her wrist then looks to see it is…

Merlina: Maxus? What is going on here?

Maxus: I think they are looking for your mother. But they don't know about you.I over heard your mother talking about you….uhhIi don't know if I should tell you.

Merlina: Maxus tell me now please...it might be crucial.

Maxus: I couldn't hear clearly but she said something about you having evil in you and wasn't sure what more she can do to protect you ...uhhh but the weird thing is when I peeked through the hole no one was there I thought maybe she might be crazy.

Merlina then looks in shocked not sure what to do*

Merlina: if I look in my house I might find something to find her to get some kind of clues.Do you think you can help me?

Maxus: uhh I will try

Merlina and Maxus comes with the idea to sneak around the side of Maxus mother house while Maxus distract the guard so she can go straight into her mother's house after the plan was executed Merlina then looks around to find anything to get in contact with her mother. as merlina looks around she remembers that her mother told her to get cloth,she runs to the stack of clothes and finds a note she then realizes her mother didn't just leave her for no reason. she read the not and as it says "Dear merlina I am sorry to leave you without telling you, I tried so hard to protect you but I could not so I am going to try to find some way to end this I can not have them find or they will use you as they did with me. I am sending you to your uncle Gaius the address is on the back he will explain why you have the dreams you have and other things once I stop them I will come back to you. I love you so much do not forget that''. Tears fall down Merlina's face as she realizes the only reason her mom left was to protect her. she gets herself together and packs her stuff but then hears someone coming into her house she goes to hide in the closet and overhears the men that came in talking about her mother.

Knight 1: She needs to be found if we come empty-handed the king will kill us without hesitation.

Knight 2: Why is she so important?

Knight 1: I overheard the king talking about it. Apparently, she's a powerful witch that can do many dark things and the king wants a new evolution and more power.

Knight 2: shouldn't she be hun..?(interrupted)

Knight 1: SPEAK NO MORE! THE LAST ONE WHO HAVE SAID THAT DIED SO GET TO SEARCHING!

Merlina then tightens up and shakes every step they come close.*

Knight 1: Check the closet * Merlina begins to shiver more and covers her mouth because of how sacred she is she then feels as if she's on fire and hears a blast from outside the men go running outside and Merlina then tightens her hoodie and makes a run to the horses to Camelot*
