WARNING!
My OC is based on Avatar: The Last Airbender. Just the usage of bending and spirits. Other than that, I tried to make the background story for her and her ancestors my original story.
Oh, also, if you don't like the character to have a relationship with all four brothers this might not be the story for you. (I mean, who doesn't love all four brothers because I know I definitely do xD)
Other than that, enjoy the story!
Prologue
"Oh, she is beautiful. What will you name her, Milady?" asked the lady in waiting.
The mother, who has just finished giving birth, smiled down at the just-born infant. The infant was fast asleep in her arms, with her clean, still peachy skin color with a bit of raven tousled hair.
Smoothing the infant's little hair down, she answered, "Her name is Irina. Yamauchi Irina. Heir to the Yamauchi Clan."
As if hearing her new name, the newborn infant stirs awake as she slowly opens her eyes to reveal two beautiful amethyst. Her eyes landed instantly on the woman who held her in her arms. A beautiful woman who she was the replica of other than the eye colors.
The woman has pale tan skin with long black hair and bright auburn eyes; her skin was flawless with a beauty mark under her right eye. She smiled down at the awake babe in her arms, "Hello, Irina. I'm your mother, Yuui. Yamauchi Yuui."
The small babe smiled up at her, almost as if she understood her. Laughing, Yuui smiled sadly, "I'm sorry that your father isn't here. He is so busy with work that he won't be able to see you until he gets home."
Again, it was as if her daughter could understand her as she clutched a bit of Yuui's hair and snuggled herself into her mother's chest, telling her that it was alright. Smiling fondly at her daughter's, somehow understanding, Yuui hugged her daughter close to her.
The lady in waiting giggled, gaining the new mother's attention. Looking up at her, Yuui raised an eyebrow, "And what is so funny Aya?"
Smiling, Aya shook her head, "It's nothing, Milady. It's just you were so stressed about being a mother before Lady Irina was born that to see you act so natural as a mother to her is funny yet relieving."
Giggling, Yuui couldn't argue with her there. While Irina was still in her womb, her hormones would always kick in, making her panic into tears. Thinking if she would be a good mother or not when her child is born. Heck, she even started complaining about how she wasn't yet ready to be one.
She mentally laughs when she remembers running around the mansion, her pregnant belly was quite large then, making the staff and even her husband go in a panicked frenzy. Her husband had threatened her that if she did not stay put and be more careful of the child, that he would have to tie her down onto the bed. Of course, that quickly backfired when Yuui teased him seductively that he would love it if she weren't pregnant. His face was as bright as a tomato for the whole day then.
Giggling at the memory, Yuui couldn't help but find her husband adorable. Sure he may be the head clan of the Yamauchi Clan, which he takes very seriously, always with a stern face. But when he is alone with her, he puts his guard down and shows her the soft and kind-hearted person he truly is.
Smiling fondly of the memories she shares of him, Yuui looks back down at her daughter and sees that Irina had fallen fast asleep again. She slowly caressed her daughter's pink cheeks until loud shouts and screams came from outside of the room. Scared and concerned, she looked at the door, wondering what was going on.
When the noises only got worse, Yuui was about to get up off the bed, her daughter in her arms, until Aya stopped her, "Please Milady, let me go and check to see what is happening."
Not arguing with the woman, Yuui had laid herself back down. She knew that Aya could take care of herself. She was a very well-trained Kunoichi of the Yamauchi Clan since the two were very young.
Before Aya could leave the room, Yuui stopped her, "Aya… please, be careful."
Looking back at the Lady, the woman nodded and stealthily left the room.
Scared for her child, Yuui clutched her daughter close to her when she heard the shouts and screams coming closer to the room. Her fast-beating heart was thumping rapidly in her ears. Her breathing shallow and sweat slowly trickled down her face.
When she saw the door slowly slid open, Yuui could feel time slowing as her heart stopped beating, and her breath caught in her throat. The door slid open so agonizingly slow; she worried that it might be an enemy. But when it was opened wide enough to let a person slip through, Yuui almost cried right then and there.
Relief and scared, she quickly got up from the bed, scrambling the sheets everywhere, as she ran into her husband's arms. Aya, who had left them not too long ago, had come back just right behind him.
"Takeo!"
Holding his wife within his arms, a well-built man; with tan skin, dark brown short hair, and the same amethyst color eyes as Irina, hugged her tightly. The heaviness of worry lifted with relief in his heart. He was glad that his wife was safe, pleased that the enemy had found neither her nor their newborn daughter yet.
Grasping her shoulders, he held his wife at arm's length so he could inspect her for any wounds, "Are you alright? Did any of the enemies make it in here?"
Yuui shook her head, "No. I'm fine. Irina is fine too."
Hearing the chosen name that he and his wife picked for their child, Takeo looked down at the bundle within his wife's arm and smiled.
"Irina."
As if she had heard him, the infant girl wriggled in her mother's arm before falling back asleep.
Yuui giggled quietly, "She knows you're her father."
Takeo smiled at his wife's words and brought a hand up to touch his daughter's forehead softly.
"She's beautiful. Just like her mother."
Just then, a white light started glowing on Irina's forehead, under Takeo's touch. Moving his hand to see what it was, a white lotus bloomed in front of their eyes before disappearing.
Aya gasped, "My Lord, that was…"
Pursing his lips, Takeo nodded, "Yes, Aya. I know."
Yuui looked up at her husband in disbelief, tears forming in her eyes, "No. It can't be, Takeo. Irina won't be able to handle the weight of the world upon her shoulders."
Takeo looked down at his wife, "Yuui. Even if the spirits haven't chosen her, she would still have a whole clan to lead."
His hands gave her a reassuring squeeze as he looked down at his daughter with gentle eyes, "Besides, the spirits have chosen her, Yuui. That means she will grow up just fine. She will become strong, kind, and beautiful. Just like her mother."
Smiling through her tears, Yuui puts a hand on top of her husband's.
Their moment got ruined by the shouts and cries of their clans and enemies. Remembering that they are still at war, Takeo focused back on the problem at hand, "Irina has been chosen by the spirits and will need guidance from you, Yuui. So run. Run and protect our daughter!"
Knowing what he was going to do next, Yuui frantically shook her head, "No! I won't leave your side, Takeo! We made a vow never to leave each other's side. That means I will fight and die together with you."
"I remember the vow quite clearly, Yuui. But Irina will need guidance. Guidance on how to control her powers. Her bendings. And only you can teach her that."
Yuui smiled at him, "You forget, Takeo. That there is someone else, who is also fit to do that role just as well as me."
He knew who she was talking about and turned to look straight at Aya.
The young woman, seeing as the two looked at her, shook her head in denial, "You're wrong, Milady! I am not as capable of guidance as you are."
Yuui shook her head, "That is where you are wrong, Aya."
Takeo nodded, agreeing, "Yuui is right. We have trained and fought together many times, Aya. I know you will also be a great teacher to our daughter."
"But you're wrong! The Yamauchi clan is getting slaughtered by the Foot! They swarm us. I'll be killed in an instant once I take one step out of the borders."
Hearing her logic, they both knew that what she said was true. But it will have to be a chance that they are willing to take.
"As long as our daughter lives, she will renew our clan and hopefully end this war," said Takeo, looking down at his daughter as he wrapped a bracelet around her tiny wrists.
Irina squirmed in her mother's arms when she felt her father's touch. A light glowed from within her chest while at the same time, a tattoo of a lotus created itself.
