BPOV

I was awake. He knew that and I knew that. But I couldn't find it in myself to move. I was perfectly comfortable and content lying across his ice cold chest while he drug his long fingers through my hair.

"Are we just going to lay in bed all day?" He asked softly.

"Yes." I mumbled.

His chest vibrated with his musical laugh, and I couldn't help but smile at the sound.

"It's cloudy today, how about we go to the park?" He asked.

"That sounds nice." I replied shaking off sleep.

"I'll run home and get to Volvo while you get ready, ok?" He said.

I nodded against his chest before reaching up and planting a kiss on his perfect lips. When the need for air became over powering, I sighed and reluctantly sat up.

"Hurry back." I told him.

"Always love." He murmured before placing a kiss on my forehead and hopping out the window.

I sighed happily and turned to my closet. Sitting on a hanger was an outfit in a bag with a note tied to the hook.

'Bella, wear this! You will thank me later'

-Alice

I sighed, tossing the note to the side and unzipping the bag. Inside was a long sleeved blue top that left a small hole right above the chest and hooked around the neck. That was matched with dark high wasted jeans with holes in the knees.

A smiled inwardly as I looked myself over in the mirror. I'd have to thank Alice later, it really was a lovely outfit.

Their was a knock on the door and a smile lit my face.

I bounded down the stairs and towards the door, throwing it out of my way.

"You look lovely." Edward said, swiping a hair behind my ear.

"I could say the same to you." I smirked.

He was wearing a tight fitted white shirt and khakis. His hair was in its usual mess, just the way I liked it.

"Give me one second, I've just got to grab my shoes."

I turned away from him and grabbed the tennis shoes that sat just around the corner. When I retrieved them, I slid them on and went back to join Edward.

He was now holding a small picnic basket. I smiled up at him.

"This is your plan?" I asked him.

"Yes, you don't mind, do you? I can take you to a diner, or a restaurant in Port Angels."

"No this is perfect."

I grabbed his hand and lead him out the door. He hurried ahead of me to open my door, then when I was seated, we sped off to Forks City Park.

Our hands were clasped together in my lap, his thumb running over my knuckles.

We road In comfortable silence, Clair de lune playing quietly in to background.

When we arrived at the park, Edward slid smoothly into a parking place.

In the next second he was at my door, opening it and offering me his hand. I smiled as I took it, noticing the picnic basket in his other hand.

We started up the skinny walkway, headed towards the small pond that was less that a mile away.

Although the sky was cloudy, it was a pretty decent day. The birds were chirping up in the trees, and a small breeze blew strings out from behind my ears.

A bark in the distance froze me where I stood. Edward stopped along with me, questioning me with his eyes. I just shook my head slightly embarrassed at my meaningless fear.

We walked on, the barked grew nearer and I hugged myself closer Edward each time.

After the third jump from me, Edward brought us to a stop turning me to face him.

"What's wrong love?"

"Nothing, it's stupid." I blushed.

"It's ok, you can tell me you know?"

Then something wet licked up my ankle. I froze and a hard furry creature rubbed against my leg.

I glanced down and let out a blood curling scream. I tucked myself behind Edward, gripping his shirt so tightly my fingers were turning white.

There were two dogs, one jumping at the picnic basket and the other was pawing at my leg.

I took off sprinting, the dog on my heals. True to form I tripped over my own foot and landed in a heap on the ground. The dog stood over me, licking at my face.

My breathing was coming in harsh gasps, terror griped my chest.

Cold hands pulled my from under the dog, swiping the dirt from my clothes. I literally climbed Edward, and soon I was cradled in his arms.

"Bella, hey calm down. I'm not going to let them hurt you." Edward soothed.

"Hey! Grab the leash!" A voice screeched.

Edward set me down and tucked me behind his back before bending and snatching up the two leashes.

Jessica Stanley came running around the corner, her brown curly hair bouncing with every step she took.

"Oh thank gosh! I thought I was going to lose my job. Your my hero" She smiled up at Edward when she reached us, grabbing the leash from his hand.

I tugged on him gently, hoping to put some distance between the dogs and myself, not to mention Jessica.

Edward stepped back and pulled me to his side, Jessica shifted slightly when I came into view.

"Oh, hey Bella. I didn't see you." She smiled nervously at me.

"Hey Jessica." I said still wary of the now quiet dogs.

"Um, this is Grace, and this is Will." She said pointing to the dogs.

I nodded, scooting back slightly.

"Oh, sorry Bella. I'll see you guys later." She said, picking up on my stupid fear.

When she was out of sight, Edward broke into full belly laughter.

"Dogs! Of all the things! And the irony! Your best friend turns into a dog." Edward laughed.

I slapped him lightly on the chest. "Shut up!" I scolded.

"I'm sorry love, are you hurt?"

I shook my head before grabbing the fallen picnic basket and his hand and leading him to the pond.

He laid out the blanket and pulled me into his lap.

"So how did this fear start?" He asked me.

"I don't know. I never had a problem with dogs before. They just freak me out."

"And yet your best friend is a mutt."

"Be nice." I scolded lightly as he set out the food.

"This smells amazing, did you make it?" I asked him, changing the subject.

"Esme helped me." He said shyly.

I smiled and dug in.

The rest of the afternoon was spent snacking and laying in each other's arms. Edward had even rented out a boat and we sailed around the pond.

By the end of the day Edward was carrying me I'll into my house and I was out before my head hit the pillow.

I hope you enjoyed this cheesy little one-shot! Leave some love in the comments.
