Hermione slowly opened the door of her apartment. It had been another disappointing day of job hunting. Even though she had newly graduated university with the highest honours in computer science, the job hunt had been brutal. She kicked off her heels and took of her blazer. It had been a rough six years after the battle of Hogwarts. Six very lonely years.

She walked towards the couch and grabbed a picture frame that stood on the side table next to the couch. She ran her fingers slowly over the picture. It was a picture of her parents on their wedding day. Hermione sniffled and a tear slowly made its way down her cheek. Her parents never survived until Hermione could execute her plan. They had been murdered by death eaters before Hermione even came home from her sixth year in Hogwarts. Hermione almost didn't go on the hunt with Harry but she knew he needed her.

She put the picture frame back before picking up the other one. It was a picture of Harry smiling and waving at her. The edges of the picture were frayed. You could see an arm popping in and out of view. It had been a picture with Harry and Ron first but the Weasleys had all but abandoned her. After Harry died in the battle, Hermione felt alone but didn't want to impose on the Weasleys who had just lost Fred. But at Fred's funeral, when Hermione showed up to show silent support to Ginny and Ron, they had shunned her. Telling her that they didn't have room for another orphan. They didn't need her to burden them with her presence. Hermione had left and after a few days when an owl made its way to her apartment, the Weasleys had fully pushed her out their life.

Hermione walked over to the kitchen and pricked some holes in the plastic covering of some microwavable meal she had picked up in the supermarket during her weekly shop. She shoved the meal in the microwave and waited. She grabbed her phone out of her pants pocket and opened the tiktok app. Hermione had discovered a few accounts that did Marvel universe pov's and she absolutely loved them. She felt like she could escape her small life and dream about something bigger. She found a story she enjoyed and clicked on the account icon, she scrolled down to the beginning of the story and starting swiping through the clips.

The microwave beeped and Hermione took out her meal. Softly swearing for burning her fingers against the warm plastic of the meal. She hurried towards the kitchen table and sat down. She grabbed a bottle of wine and a glass, cutlery and her phone. She ripped of the plastic covering and poured herself a glass of wine. She put balanced her cell phone against the wine bottle and began eating her mediocre meal whilst enjoying the pov story.

The clips with James Buchanan 'Bucky' Barnes made her feel warm and tingly inside. Hermione sighed. What she would give to have a man like that in her life. She shut off the story as she saw the time. She put on some soft music and got changed in shorts and a vest top. She grabbed a light jacket for when she got cold. Her wand was lying next to her on the couch as she felt a tingle shoot up her spine. The wards were under attack. But before Hermione could grab her wand and defend herself, the door was blasted out of its hinges and two aurors stormed into her apartment.

"Hermione Granger, you need to come in the ministry for questioning." One of the aurors said as he made a move to grab her arm. Hermione janked her arm away and ran into her bedroom. The aurors followed her and surrounded her.

"I didn't do anything wrong." Hermione cried out.

"The Weasley family says otherwise." One of the aurors scoffed. "So be prepared to go to Azkaban you little mudblood whore."

Hermione saw red. The Weasleys had her arrested and Kingsley didn't stop them. Hermione felt her magic tingle on her arms. Her anger feeding her magic even more. The last coherent though Hermione had was 'I wish I had Bucky to protect me.'

Everything went black.
