(A/N: A little preview of a story called Behind Bars, which takes place around the same time as An Old Promise, which is also in development. In this, Dragon, Cirrus and P.I.X.A.L. are arrested and sent to Kryptarium Prison for assisting Lloyd in violating his probation)
Present
"That's how I got this." The mercenary said, raising his sling. "Doctor said another few inches, and I'd have to have pins inserted into it."
"Guess you were lucky twice." Mantis replied
"I guess so. And surprisingly, they also put me in protective custody."
Several Days Earlier
In his new cell, Dragon was meditating on the lower bunk as the cell door soon opened and he looked to see the guard moving the mercenary, who now had an arm sling for his broken shoulder, into the cell before closing the cell door. "Hello, cellmate." He said, half sarcastic.
"I see they placed you in here." Dragon replied as the mercenary soon sat down by the toilet. "I never got the chance to thank you for saving me and the samurais."
"Let's just say that I owed Lance Corporal Pantub for saving my life."
"You know, I bet he did it because the best way to defeat your enemy, is to make them your friend."
"I'm not sure I got that." He soon held out his left hand. "Uh, I'm Lucas, by the way. Lucas March." Dragon soon took the hand and shook it.
"Pleasure to meet you, Lucas."
Present
"So, I made you my friend?" Mantis asked.
"That's what he said." Lucas replied.
"Twice in a month."
"What was your first?"
"I'll tell you after your story. Now, from what I heard, Master Wu, P.I.X.A.L. and Cirrus are in the hole now. How did that happen?"
"It happened when they were allowed to go outside for exercise."
Several Days Earlier
In the exercise yard, Dragon, P.I.X.A.L. and Cirrus are led out into it by a guard. "You have one hour." He said before they head over to a nearby bench. They all sit down on it before crossing their legs and start to meditate.
But just a few seconds into it, footsteps were heard, interrupting them as they all look up to see Bastion, Aliil, Ultra Violet, Killow, Grunin, and the Mechanic coming up to them. "Hello, Pixie-Wix." Bastion said to P.I.X.A.L.
"Bastion!" She replied as she notices Bastion loosening her right hand and something comes out as he immediately gripped it. She realised it was an improvised shiv. They soon split up as Bastion charged at P.I.X.A.L. and tries to stab her, but she quickly kicks the shiv out of his hand. She quickly pushes him aside before jumping onto the wall and bounces off of it to kick Killow, sending him flying into the basketball rack, breaking it apart. Killow got up to see Dragon kicking Grunin to the side before spinning around to kick Aliil back, Cirrus backflips to kick Ultra Violet in her jaw while using her legs to kick the Mechanic down and P.I.X.A.L. sliding underneath Bastion while grabbing his legs, and pulls them forward, knocking him down. Killow then turned to the broken rack, grabs three poles and turned to Aliil. "Yo, pirate, here!" He yelled, throwing the poles to him.
Aliil notices the poles coming toward him before opening his mouth to catch one in it, then held out his hands to catch the other two, turned back to Dragon, and poised. Aliil then went to charge at them, swinging the poles to try and strike him, but Dragon moved back to avoid them. Ultra Violet, armed with one of the stands to use it like a claw, strikes at Cirrus, who grabs hold of the stand, and forces it up, only for her to knee her in the chest. Grunin holds the smallest pole from the stand in order to swing it at Dragon, who quickly ducked down, making him hit Aliil. "Sorry, man." He said.
Killow swings the other stand, bent into a straight pole, as he tried to go at P.I.X.A.L., but she cartwheels out of the way, only to get grabbed by her feet halfway through by Bastion. "I got her!" He yelled. "Do it, Killow!" Killow chuckles as he soon struck her in the face. Aliil swings his left pole to try and strike Dragon, who moves to the side before raising his right arm to grab the pole in Aliil's mouth when he tried to use it to strike him, and pulls it back, scraping the pirate's teeth in the process. Aliil growled from his teeth getting scraped while Dragon moved the pole to strike Grunin at his nose, knocking him down. Dragon then swung the pole before spinning to strike Aliil, but he raised his poles to block it, giving off a clanging noise as a result.
Bastion manages to get back up, and charges at P.I.X.A.L., picking up the shiv in the process. P.I.X.A.L. turns around to see her brother coming up behind her before managing to quickly turn around to grab his wrist, and tries to punch him, only for Bastion to grab her wrist and they start to wrestle. As they were wrestling, Bastion moves the shiv just behind P.I.X.A.L.'s neck, intending to stab it before kneeing her in her chest, making her let go of the wrist, and Bastion moves to stab the back of her neck, but P.I.X.A.L. manages to duck down, causing Bastion to end up stabbing himself, causing him to gasp and collapse. The moment he did, alarms soon wailed as Dragon had just taken down Grunin while Cirrus broke Ultra Violet's wrist, and guards start coming. "Step away from the inmates!" One of them yelled before grabbing Dragon, who tries to resist, only to end up elbowed at his stomach, and some guards grab P.I.X.A.L. and Cirrus as Noble came out.
"Special treatment is revoked." He said to them before turning to the guards restraining them. "Throw the samurais in the hole. Put the old man in maximum. Get the wounded to the infirmary." The guards start moving Dragon, P.I.X.A.L. and Cirrus back inside as Noble turned to see Bastion was no longer moving.
