AN: Hey guys! Hi~ (.m.)/) sorry for my long (?) hiatus…? o_0 it's been a hot moment :V I'll explain why at the end so it won't distract you with my story… LOL
Any who… a warning/comment for this story: Korra gonna be a little dumb dumb and kiss someone without their consent. I wrote this with the intentions to not be taken seriously (and it is a serious crime btw) but if it isn't obvious by now, DON'T BE LIKE THIS IN REAL LIFE! Seriously, it's not cool and is a damn crime. No consent, no touch. I will repeat again.
No consent. No touch.
FanFiction is separate from reality… let's keep it that way folks.
Ch 1: He F*cking Cheated Again!
Korra thought about throwing her perfectly good and fresh cup of hot and bitter coffee at his face but that would be just a waste of good coffee. A dishonor on her family and disgrace even! Honestly, it was a good first thought and instinct but her twitching hand wouldn't allow it. She was raised better than that. Slamming down her cup onto the table, she makes her grand entrance with the most pissed off face out there.
"I can't believe this!" She shouts before raising her hand in disbelief. "You asshole!" With one loud slap on the cheek, the raging young woman turns around.
"Korra?! What are you doing here?"
"Leaving single, that's what I'm doing." She snaps back without turning around.
"Wait, I'm sorry!" He grabs her arm, "I didn't mean to—"
"To what!" Her voice rose, "Stick your punny penis between some chick's legs! This is the third time you've done this Mako, the third time. I'm done! We're through." She storms off towards the door, leaving her nice cup of joe behind while ignoring the abundance of gasps from fellow coffee loving s.
"Korra!" Mako pleases with his red cheek as he runs after his ex, leaving his surprised date in tow. "Korra, wait! You know I never mean to kiss—"
Abruptly stopping in front of the door, Korra let it rip. "You didn't mean to kiss her?" Her fist shakes as she didn't even want to begin. She gives him the death glare before saying in the most cold yet hurt voice out there, "Do you know how it feels to see your boyfriend kiss someone else in front of you!"
The doorbell chimes just as someone walks into the cafe and Korra has had enough. She wasn't thinking. She was running on two hours of sleep, worrying about where her boyfriend was and if he was safe after saying they'd meet up for dinner last night and he didn't answer any texts or calls. So… without further ado, she undoubtedly grabbed this unsuspecting stranger by their collar and pulled them down for a kiss.
Said stranger flinches and she was about to toss this pervert over her shoulder until she notices the tears in those cyan eyes and the panicked guy right behind her. She didn't have much time to think as the furious tanned woman continued to shout at him.
"That's how it feels like you mother fucker!" Korra screams before grabbing the stranger's hand and dragging them out the store. She wasn't sure why she did that but she did know she was about to get on her knees and grovel to this stranger for the crimes she just committed.
Thankfully, the stranger simply followed behind Korra with no questions asked and before long, they somehow made it over to the nearest park safe and sound. Once they were kind of situated, Korra stopped in front of a nice tree before dropping down to the floor on her knees. She immediately gets down to the earth as low as it would let her before begging for their forgiveness.
"I-I'm so goddamn sorry! I won't ask for you to forgive me but please let me apologize for abruptly kissing you! I-I just— my boyfriend—well my ex, he fucking cheated on me again! Will you believe that! For the third damn time too! To top that off, I just wanted enjoy a cup of coffee when I fucking saw him kissing this chick so I just wanted him to know how it felt but that doesn't excuse what'd I've done! I wasn't thinking! I am so, so, so goddamn sorry! I don't know how I'll repay you but please know I wasn't thinking clearly and I am so damn sorry!" Korra spits out in embarrassment with more shame than she could handle.
What would she do if this stranger was some old ass dude? It wasn't as if she saw their face but that wasn't the problem. She just kissed someone without their consent and maybe even worse, what if it was some minor? Spirits Korra is gonna need to turn herself in but what's even worse is that her ex is a cop. Talk about the last thing she wanted to do, no way she wanted to turn herself in when he was there.
The stranger opens her mouth to speak, "I—"
Korra cuts her off though. "I'm so sorry!" Out of nowhere, she whips out her wallet and slams her ID card onto the grass. "Here's my ID! Feel free to take a picture and sue me or whatever! But please, anything but the police station! My ex is a fucking cop too if you'd believe that! Why does the world hate me! I'll pay whatever compensation or if you don't want money, I'll be your badgermole slave for as long as you'd like! I swear!"
She raises her hand slightly, "That's—"
Korra's relentless. "I am so sorry!" She was practically sobbing now, with somewhat teary eyes. "What am I doing… when'd I become such a horrible person! Spirits I'm so stupid! I can't believe I just did that. I can't believe myself, spirits I'm going to the fog of lost souls… " she's basically monologuing and whaling to herself at this point now.
Suppressing her snort, the stranger finally speaks up loudly and firmly. "Korra."
Korra twitches at how authoritative her voice sounded.
"Korra right?" She repeats in a much more softer voice, "As much as it is cute seeing you ramble and grovel, I actually have to go. I'm going to be late for a meeting you see… we can talk about what you've done another time." Pulling out a business card from her purse, she quickly wrote down her personal number on it before bending over and setting it down next to Korra's wallet. "Here's my number."
She stands back up and thinks for a brief second before saying, "Well… since it seems that I can't buy my coffee at that location anymore, how about you find me a new spot nearby? As for forgiving you… I'll think about it after you buy me a cup of coffee."
"What?" Korra blinks as she mindlessly stares at the grass in front of her eyes.
"I'm looking forward to what you'll come up with." At that, the stranger turns on her heels and once Korra realizes that, she twitches before snapping up her head.
Lost for words, Korra watches her back profile leave before forcing herself to speak. "W-Wait! What's your name!" She mentally slaps herself once she realizes that her damned name was on the card she just handed over like two seconds ago.
The stranger stops in place before turning slightly. Korra almost lost her breath the moment she saw the face of the woman she just kissed. A woman with such suave and poise that even the spirits would be humbled. The world really was playing with Korra because the moment she gave her a coy yet sly smile, the wind picks up and gently carries her luscious, wavy hair as if it was some shampoo commercial.
"Asami. My name's Asami, I'll be expecting that text soon since I never go a day without coffee." She winks and at that note, she made her way back and Korra was left behind on the floor on her knees. But, before Asami made it too far, she paused in place before pointing at her own red stained lips. "Oh, you might want to check a mirror."
Korra was left with her mouth gaping as Asami made her grand exit. After her brain finally buffers, she starts patting down her pants to find her phone. Once she pulls it out, she sees a red smudge on her lips before blushing and wiping her lips. She then blinks a few seconds before pinching herself. "Ow ow ow… this isn't a dream… what the fuck?"
She looks down at the business card in front of her and sure enough, there it was. Asami's business card. Asami Sato's business card. Her mouth dropped again.
"No fucking way…"
She picks up the card before bringing it up to her eyes.
"No. Fucking. Way."
She reads the card a few times.
"No fucking way!"
Korra finally snaps her head up to no longer seeing Asami's figure in the distance. She was beyond baffled before she smacked her own face in disbelief.
"I did not just fucking kiss the Asami Sato!"
With a hysterical chuckle, she sobered to herself.
"I'm fucked."
…
With her elbow propped up on the table, Asami mindlessly taps her desk as she sits there in deep thought. Sure enough, she rests her chin onto her fist before sighing softly. Spacing out, she couldn't take her mind off of her encounter from earlier this morning. She couldn't seem to focus on her paperwork no matter how hard she tried and she didn't understand why. Was it really because of that young woman named Korra? It couldn't be… Asami Sato doesn't get flustered by others so maybe it was because of the lack of caffeine in her system.
Yeah… that had to be it.
She was the CEO of Future Industries for Pete's sake. She wasn't one to be swayed so easily and especially by a mear kiss of all things. So what if Korra's lips were softer than they looked? It didn't change the fact that she had kissed her without her consent. Of course… she had every intention of bringing pain upon this pervert slash scumbag regardless of who they were. At least that was until she saw her eyes.
Eyes that she's seen before.
Eyes that were full of pain.
Eyes that screamed for help.
If those eyes didn't make her heart sway in the slightest bit, you can bet sure as hell that her heartfelt apology and explanation did. Now, Asami wasn't one to be fooled easily thanks to her prowls and experience as a business woman. She prided herself at reading people well so she knew that Korra wasn't lying. That and well… the fact that Korra's story was quite pitiful actually. Having a crude boyfriend that cheated on you not once nor twice but thrice?
At that point, that number itself was probably already questionable but the fact that what pushed this young woman over the edge was seeing him kiss someone else and in front of her face nonetheless? She must've loved him enough to hang in there for that long yet, her trust was betrayed at the very end? Even Asami, as a fellow woman who's been taken advantage of before, wanted to punch that guy. What was his name? Mako? Like the shark? That made Asami scoff slightly before shifting in her seat. She leaned back in her chair and crossed her legs before letting her thoughts run off again.
She picked at her manicured nails.
"..."
She glances at her window, taking in the sight of the park before mumbling to herself.
"Maybe I should've helped her some more… but then… she did kiss me out of the blue. It's not as if we're friends or anything either…"
She turns back around before mindlessly staring at the papers on her desk with a deep sigh.
"Damn… I wish I had my coffee."
As if on cue, a soft voice calls out while knocking the door. "Asami, I brought you your coffee."
Letting out a soft grunt, Asami closes her eyes and rubs her nose bridge before answering. "Come in."
The moment her assistant walked in, she raised an eyebrow. "What's up with you?"
Asami cracked an eye open, "Mmh? What do you mean Jinora?"
Jinora gives her the 'look' while rolling her eyes. "This." She gestures at Asami's lazy figure, "You never space out this much and besides," she sets down the cup of coffee, "You never drink instant coffee from here."
Humming slightly, Asami shifts in her seat before grabbing the cup and taking a sip. "Well…" she thought back to her interaction with Korra. "I ran into a slight…" problem? I wouldn't go as far to say that. It's not as if it was her fault her ex was a cheating scumbag. "...inconvenience so I couldn't get my usual fix."
"Okay…" Jinora didn't seem convinced because she knew her friend was a perfectionist. She'd never stray from her routine so that meant there was something she was holding back. Even so, she didn't want to push her friend because Asami knew how to handle most situations. "Well… let me know if you need anything else. You know where to find me," she nods jokingly past the door where her reception desk was situated.
Asami gave her a soft small, "Will do." Once Jinora leaves and the door clicks shut, she lets out a small sigh. "What am I doing…" she swirls the coffee in her paper cup and watches as the liquid swishes around. Soon enough, she stops and sets down the cup onto the table before turning to face her window. She began drumming her fingers on her desk again.
Really.
In all seriousness, Asami would've without a doubt sent someone who touches her without her permission over her shoulder and ripped them a new one. Maybe even snap their shoulder or hand or even two in fact. However… Korra on the other hand, her eyes told a story. A story that she knew well enough that she even saw herself in those eyes. That happened to be one of the reasons why she was still single for this long. The irony right? Who would've guessed that someone would dare to cheat on the Asami Sato?
She most certainly didn't.
She knew that pain of betrayal far too well and well… she froze. She ignored her first instinct by not tossing Korra over her shoulder. Yes, it wasn't right that Korra kissed her out of the blue but if Asami was being honest, as crazy as it sounds, she might've done the same thing. Trying to imagine being in Korra's shoes, she wondered how she would've reacted at that moment.
She swivels around in her chair to face her window again.
On the blind side… bluntly speaking Asami had to admit, Korra was quite attractive. Ever since her (more than once) bad break ups, she's expanded her preferences when it came to partners. Best of both worlds as she would call it and well, spirits be damned, Korra was quite one stunning woman. It was hard to find someone that fit her standards let alone be this attractive. Not to mention, she even had the luxury of enjoying her muscle back side when they had made their way over to the park. And the way her arms had flexed… she had to admit, it was quite one delightful view.
Staring mindlessly at the sky, Asami continued to observe the nice weather before quietly whispering to herself. "Her eyes were brighter."
It's been far too long since she's gotten laid.
…
Still in the park, Korra paced back and forth as she mumbled to herself. "What are the chances I'm fucked?" After a few seconds, she answered her own question, "Very fucked." She paces around some more, "I am so going to prison… of all the people you just had to kiss Korra, it had to be her?! The most successful business woman in Republic City and the most desired bachelorette! Urghhh! Come on!"
Grabbing her head in disbelief, she almost pulled out her own hair. "What if she sends people after me… no no no…" she shakes her head, "Hold up hold up… she said she'd think about my apology…"
Her eyes snapped open, "I have to find the best coffee shop closest to this area!" At that, she whips out her phone before searching for the closest coffee places nearby. It didn't take that long for her to start mumbling to herself again, "Dammit… I really liked that coffee shop too… it was the best one on the block…"
After much research and yelp reviews later, she gives up. "Fuck it. Time to hit up all those cafes today. Thank the spirits I didn't work today… I have to find the best shop. Asami Sato ain't gonna give me a chance if I bring her to some ratchet café."
"Urgh…"
Many coffee places later, Korra was about to crash. She has hit up the three closest cafes, which were mediocre at best, compared to the Hot Man's Hot Spot. Why did she have to see Mako kissing that chick in the best coffee shop in town? Not only would she not dare to enter that place ever again after the scene she caused, she ruined that opportunity for Asami as well. Ignoring the fact that practically everyone knew of her, she must've been a regular there. Spirits did that make Korra feel like shit even more. It didn't help her jitters from all the caffeine she's had. That and well… she really needed to pee.
"Shit… where's the closest bathroom…"
Scrunching her nose, Korra looked left and right scanning the nearby stores.
"That place probably doesn't have one…"
She looks more to her right.
"That one looks like you'd have to buy something…"
She pats down her thigh, feeling up her wallet and remembering the lack of money in it.
"Hah…"
Frowning at her bad luck, she looks off into the distance before seeing a small secluded alleyway. She somewhat remembered that there were some shops down there and was sure one of them had a bathroom that wouldn't mind her borrowing it compared to the bougie shops downtown. They were always stingy for some reason… she thinks about it for a hot second before giving up and starts making her way over.
"Well… it might be sketchy but hey, what could go wrong? Worse that'll happen is that I piss myself or end up pissing on the sidewalk." She checks the time, noting that it was just about half past noon before stuffing her hands into her pocket. "Man… I'm hungry…"
Thankfully she makes it over in no time before a pleasant whiff caught her nose. "Damn… that smells good…" following her nose, she heads down the alleyway before making a right turn at the end and boom, there it was. The source of that delicious smelling food and surprisingly strong coffee smell? She shakes off her nerves before heading inside. Once her head pops under the tapestry, she's quickly greeted by the staff.
"Welcome in! What can I get ya?"
Korra froze slightly, "Oh um… uh… this is my first time here."
"Ahhh a first timer ey?" The staff member gives her a friendly smile, "Well fun fact, our shop is actually a coffee shop first and restaurant second." They pulled out a menu, "We actually only serve three dishes, two appetizers, fifteen teas and more than twenty coffee blends."
"Oh… wow is that so?" As intrigued as she was, Korra couldn't help but fidget in place since her need to pee was getting pretty bad.
"Yup!" The staff member responds with a sense of pride, "I can give you the rundown if you'd like? You can actually mix your own drinks here."
Korra's lips thinned out as she let out a soft groan. "Cool… that sounds amazing but um… say, do you have a bathroom by chance? I really gotta go…" she felt like a bashful kid all of the sudden.
The store employed blinked before laughing, "Yeah of course we do." They gestured towards the left, "It's right down there to the right."
"Thanks!" With a sheepish grin, Korra quickly walked to the bathroom. Once inside, she plopped down onto the toilet seat before sighing in bliss. "That's better…" as it took some time for her to empty her bladder, she pulled out her phone with some curiosity.
"That's weird… why wasn't this place on yelp?"
Scrolling through her phone briefly, she couldn't find much. Maybe it was because the entrance to this place was a really obscure alleyway? There were hardly any reviews and the few that were there were perfect five stars. Most of it was along the lines of 'small menu but great choices!' or 'best coffee around!' but we all know those types of reviews are always exaggerations. With a small huff, she pocketed her phone before cleaning herself up. By the time she was out the door, she decided to text Asami to see if she was actually being serious about her proposal.
Korra (12:33): hey Miss Sato, it's Korra… um… I was wondering if you were still down for that cup of coffee?
Clicking the send button, she slid her phone back into her pocket before facing the employee again. But, before she called out to them, she noticed that a few seats were taken, not too much nor too little with guests eating lunch and even drinking coffee. Odd… most people don't eat lunch with coffee? She walks up to the counter again which there surprisingly was no line to.
"Thanks, I feel much better now."
"Of course!" The employee gave her a bright smile, "So, what can I get you? You still want me to give you a run down?"
Korra eyes the small yet vast menu. "Well… sure. Any recommendations?"
They had a bright grin on their face, "Well…"
…
Asami feels her phone buzz and her personal one nonetheless, but ignores it as she mindlessly listens to this contractor's proposal. She could see his ulterior motives miles away. It was just painfully obvious that he wanted to take advantage of Future Industries— no, take advantage of her, Asami Sato. His audacity was quite amazing if she was being honest. Although she had already planned her checkmate the moment he started speaking. Currently, she was simply giving him some courtesy by listening to his sad proposal.
Spirits men are so fickle…
Her cold gaze didn't apparently warn him of how fed up she was with his lecherous gaze.
Couldn't be any less obvious huh?
It was just so painfully obvious that he was checking her out. Asami knew that most business partner's she dealt with always eyed her as if she was some prize to be won. That always rubbed Asami in the wrong way and the more they'd do that, the more heartless she was.
It was child's play honestly.
She knew what she had to offer. Whether it be her looks, power, authority or even money, she knew she was the biggest player on the field that they could ever dream to be. The whole world knew that yet, that didn't stop them. Her competitors or even contractors always tried using her. Whether it be pointless flaunting or even their so-called flexes, they honestly had nothing compared to Asami.
She wasn't one to call herself a narcissist but, with all the influence and power she had, who could blame her. She wasn't shy to use her skills and abilities to her advantages if given the opportunity even if that may seem vain. Besides… what could they possibly say to her?
She was Asami fucking Sato.
Leaning back in her chair, she crosses her legs, showing off her slender legs before speaking up in an authoritative loud voice. "Mister Shang. I think it's about time I end our meeting. You see… I have more important matters to attend to."
That struck a nerve as his face twitched, "What was that?"
Asami brushed it off completely, "I am a busy woman… Unlike one of your stature, I have a company to run and employees to take care of." She pushes back her hair before giving him a condescending look. "I expected a more organized proposal but seeing this unorganized mess, if you're done wasting my time I'd like to get back to my people."
"What!" He almost screamed, "What did you just say you ungrateful… I am offering you the opportunity of a lifetime and this is what I get?"
Asami scoffed, "Opportunity of a lifetime huh?" She stands up abruptly making him jolt, "You mean getting violated by lecherous eyes as if I was some meal?"
His face grew red, "What was that! You—"
Cutting him off, she didn't bat an eye. "Mister Shang, don't misunderstand. Just because I let you run your mouth doesn't mean I approve of child labor, which is illegal here in fact, no matter how good the proposal may sound." She began walking towards him, "You shouldn't have mentioned that workshop in the Si Wong Desert… I've been meaning to extend my hands over there to help with their community."
She stops next to his side before turning her head and whispering with a devilish gaze. "If you wanted cheap, you should've chosen Cabbage Corps." Purposefully flipping her hair, she strides out of the conference room with more confidence than most can handle.
"What was that! How dare you! You dare have the audacity to—"
Asami raised her hand. "Security, please escort our lovely guest out."
They nod before swiftly walking up to his side and grabbing his arms.
"What are you doing?! Unhand me you scoundrel! I said unhand me! You ungrateful wench!" The guards began dragging him out of the conference room, "Mark my words! You'll pay for the humiliation you've caused me!"
Not even sparing him a single glance, Asami headed towards her office. Once inside, she sat down with a tired huff. She closes her eyes to relieve some stress before opening them and pulling out her phone. There was a text from an unknown number. Raising a brow, Asami read the message.
Unknown ID (12:33): hey Miss Sato, it's Korra… um… I was wondering if you were still down for that cup of coffee?
"Ahh…"
Asami smiles, forgetting that she had given Korra her personal number. She held her phone in her hand before drumming her free one on the desk.
"What to do, what to do…"
Feeling slightly devious, Asami felt a light twinge in her chest as she read the text again.
'Miss Sato' huh?
Shifting on her chair, her smile grew.
If I say yes, can I count that as a date? She'd probably think I'm a creeper though… Hmm, do I really want to? I don't know if I want to be with someone but then again, it's been a while since I've been with someone… maybe she wouldn't mind a one time fling? But then again, she did just break up with her ex so that'd probably be cruel…
"Hmm…"
She plays with her lips, pulling the bottom one back before leaning forward and typing back a response.
Asami (13:24): I'll be there, when and where?
AN: Ah yes, now as to why I've been gone for so "long" (besides life), idk if y'all follow me on my insta but well… drumroll du du du du du *rips bandaid off* I got assaulted at the end of March!
