Ladybug perched in Adrien's open window, moonlight at her back, her shadow stretching out in front of her. The room was empty. Adrien wouldn't be back from his photoshoot for a few more minutes, probably plenty of time for her to hide his present and leave. (She refused to admit it was running away.)

She jumped lightly into his room. Nothing moved. No alarms went off. And Ladybug breathed a sigh of relief. Part one, getting into his room, was a success. Now she had only two steps left. Figure out where to put the present, and then leave undetected.

Ladybug held up the sweater. It was soft and warm. Perfect for Adrien. It was also ugly and had a cat pun on it, an orange kitten with big eyes on a green background and the words "Me-wow!" stitched across the top. Perfect for Chat Noir.

She hugged it to her chest. He would know what it meant, at least partly. She was probably the only one who could scale the walls and slip into his room without being noticed. He would know that a cat pun gift meant she'd figured out he was Chat Noir.

The rest of her meaning would be hidden from him for now. That she wasn't sure how to admit to herself that she was in love with her partner. That she knew that she loved Adrien. That she couldn't form the right words around him when she was Marinette, so for now she would have to show him with gifts.

He'd know someday.

Wind whistled outside and the room dipped into darkness, a cloud passing in front of the moon. Ladybug looked around quickly. She had to hurry. He could be back any minute.

Where to put this? Leave it on his bed for him to find immediately? Hang it in the closet for him to find later? Should she leave a note?

Her steps were only whispers on his soft carpet, but they were the loudest thing in the room, and that was her saving grace. The hard taps outside the door were faint, but she heard them anyway. A light snapped on in the hallway, sneaking in under his closed door. She was too far from the window. He would see her. The closet. She dove as the knob rattled and the bedroom door squeaked open.

Ladybug pressed herself against the back wall of a walk-in closet that was about the size of her bedroom, hiding in the line of hung dress shirts. The moon was low, and the shaft of light it cast was long, reaching into the closet. Ladybug stood on her tiptoes to avoid standing in it.

"That," grumbled Plagg, "was the worst shoot I think I've ever been to."

Adrien (Adrien! Adrien was there! Adrien was going to catch her!) laughed in response. "You slept through most of it. Why are you the one doing all the complaining?"

"It was so loooooong."

The voices were louder the second time, but Ladybug couldn't judge how far away from the closet door they were. So far, this was fine. It was late, and Adrien would be asleep soon, and then she could hide her present and leave, just liked she'd planned. So what if she had to hide in his closet for a few minutes?

Adrien groaned. "Well," he said, voice muffled. "I'm going to change and go to bed."

Going to bed was good. If he fell asleep quickly, she could leave quickly, and he would never find out. Her shoulders relaxed slightly.

"Be right back," Adrien said, and his quiet footsteps came in her direction.

Bad. This was bad! He needed to change which meant he needed his pajamas which meant his closet which meant he was going to take his clothes OFF not realizing she was there WHICH MEANT-

Adrien walked into the closet, his shirt around his arms. Moonlight glowing on his shoulders and highlighting the contours of the muscles in his arms. Open-mouthed, Ladybug pushed herself farther back into his clothes, jostling the hangers. The clothes rustled, and Adrien, half naked, snapped his head in her direction.

"What-"

"CLOTHES." Ladybug threw the sweater at his face.

Adrien yelped.

Ladybug ran back out into the moonlight.

A/N: I don't know what happened with this one. It started out as a calm, contemplative drabble set in the soft moonlight, and then it became… that. XD (No regrets!)
