Alexandra Jennings was upset. Furious. Livid. Which ever one made her the most angry. They had taken her favourite nail polish, the one that changed colour depending on her mood, off the market.
"Aww come on Alex, it's not too bad," Alex's best friend, D.C said.
"NOT THAT BAD?" Alex practically screamed. She took a few seconds to calm herself, and spoke again.
"Sorry for yelling at you Dix, but I'm just really, really mad," She apologised.
D.C laughed.
"It's OK Alex, I'm mad too, but there are always other brands…"
"Other brands?" Alex said. How had this not occurred to her?
"Yeah."
"Well, are they good though?" Alex questioned. She didn't want her nails to turn, say, pink when she was upset. That would just be disappointing.
"I'm not actually sure," Dix admitted. "We'd have to find out"
"OK then, let's go!" Alex exclaimed. "We need a replacement nail polish, ASAP"
"Alex," DC laughed, "We literally have another bottle in my closet. We don't need to find another nail polish yet."
"Oh, yeah" Alex remembered. "Thank god, I'm not really in the mood to shop anyway"
Dix laughed.
TWO MONTHS LATER
OK, so she and Dix had run out of their last bottle of nail polish, that wasn't so bad. And the first new nail polish they had tried hadn't been good. That was OK. There was, as Dix had said, other brands. But they had tried those other brands. And not a single one was any good!
Alex flopped down onto her bed. She gave up. She was never going to be able to have colour changing nails ever again. She groaned in despair.
The door banged open, and D.C came running in, screaming at the top of her lungs and jumping on top of Alex.
"What the hell Dix?" Alex yelled
"Alexxxx!" D.C squealed. "Ever-Changing Nails just announced that their putting their Mood-Changing nail polish for sale online after having so many complaints about it being taken off the market!"
Alex sat up and hugged her friend
"Yesssss!" She yelled "All those emails worked!"
"Ummm Alex?" D.C questioned, "What emails?"
Alex paused
"Oh, yeah, about that….."
