Sonic's POV
With his famous, flashy grin plastered on his face, Sonic whistled... His hands running across the red paint as he glances up. "Dang...~ I really like the upgrades you've made!" He then gives a thumbs up. "Great work Tails!" Sonic then jumps up, hopping on top of the Tornado. His yellow fox best friend couldn't help but bask in the approval.
Sonic was a slim, and lean hedgehog with royal blue fur that covered most of his body. His arms, muzzle, front torso, and the insides of his ears were a soft peachy color. He had a total of six, very long quills that came out of the back of his head. Due to his free-spirited nature, however, they were often unkempt and a few were in need of a good brushing. He had two spines that protruded out from his back behind his shoulder, with a short tail to match. Sonic was always wearing casual clothes, which usually his attire consisted of his famous light-weight, hyper friction-resistant red sneakers. White cuffs around his ankles with a red band, gray soles, and a large white strap across the top, which are held down with a giant golden buckle on each foot. His gloves matched in color, mostly white with a single red band on his cuffs. He also wore a red scarf that matched the same ruby red color of his shoes. Usually, he'd wear this outfit on every single mission and was rarely seen without it. Odd times he'd get upgrades but it mostly depended on the mission itself.
Often seen with a cocky smirk on his face, Sonic was often labeled as the hero of Mobius. He was famous for the countless missions he's gone on and completed. Because of his rising popularity with the citizens of the planet, he became the face of the company that ran most of the Heroic Missions around the globe. The Heroes Agency. Sonic was a very busy guy but did everything in his power to make everything work out in the end.
"Thank you Sonic!" Tails piped up happily from below. "I really put in the extra thought when giving her the upgrades she needed.." Tails glance down at his Miles Electric, the tablet that he used to design most of the gadgets and tools he made over the years. He swipes through a couple of blueprints before he decides to explain to Sonic what all he did to the airplane. "I felt as the years went by, I felt she needed the things I added to her." Tails then went on a little tangent, fanboying about all the cool features he added. "I made the wingspan a little longer so now it's 5.7m longer!"
Tails was a younger, fox cup with a very unique genetic mutation, which gave him two tails instead of just one. Because of this trait, he earned his nickname from his friends. He has mostly yellow-orange, with brown traces of fur with beige fur around his muzzles with large cheek tufts that poked out on both sides of his face. His torso also had this fluffy feature at the top of his chest and at the tips of his tails. He has large blue eyes with large triangular ears on the top of his head. His nose was small and black. He also had locks of hair that came out of his forehead, which was mostly what mobians would consider as bangs. Since he was a mechanic, he had a lot of little things on him to help him with his job. He wore a brown belt with many pouches and pockets that kept his tools and other small things to help him in quick site jobs. He also wore a pair of goggles on the top of his head, since he did a lot of flying around in the Tornado. He wore white fingerless gloves with a gray band around his wrist. His shoe sort of matched Sonic's however they were only red from the heel to the middle of his foot, which would carry off into white from the middle towards his toes, the bottom being gray soles. He also wore the same gray bands around his ankles over his socks to keep them in place.
"So more room for me to enjoy~" Sonic sighs happily, taking the chance to lay down on the wing, rolling over on his side to give a thumbs up, grinning like a fool.
"Exactly!" Tails then beam. "But if you ever desired to, you could go to the back and stand on the new platform I added. So when we're battling Eggman, you can help me aim the homing missiles!"
"That's smart thinking," Sonic adds, glancing to the spot that Tails made just for him. Sonic couldn't help but smile again, absolutely adoring his best friend and how brilliant he was. "Now we'll match him on his level!"
"That's what I was thinking!" Tails pipes up with a laugh, quickly climbing up the built-in ladders on the side of the airplane, jumping into the seat before he glances up at Sonic, who was still laying on the wing. "...Wanna go on a test fly?~"
"You read my mind, little buddy!" Sonic said excitedly, sitting up as he watches Tails pull his goggles down over his eyes.
With that said, the fox pushed his tablet against the wheel and it locked into place. "Ready Sonic?"
"I was born ready!"
Tails took that answer with a smile, tapping the screen for it to light up upon his touch... The Tornado came to life with a purr, the engine that he custom made showed no signs of error as the giant metal doors that kept his workshop closed shut, began to roll open thanks to the wireless connection Tails installed... The sky was crystal clear and bright... The wind was blowing just right and it was the perfect weather for a test flight. Tails pushed on the pedal and slowly the plane began to roll forward, passing the threshold of the garage of the workshop before suddenly it found itself on the runway.
Sonic bit down on his bottom lip in anticipation, super excited to see this giant bird fly again... He gifted his plane to his best friend early on in their friendship, but it always warmed his heart to see Tails put it to good use. "Ready for take-off in... Three... Two... One!" Sonic playfully jokes as the plane speeds forward down the speedway... Right before the grassy plain, it took off into the air... Smooth as butter.
Sonic took the moment to finally stand up on the wing, placing his hands on his hips as he eyed the area... Mystic Ruins shrinking below as he watched the grassy fields transform into the giant green trees and mountains began to stand as they flew over Windy Valley.
"How is it?" Tails asked, his voice barely muffled by the blowing wind in Sonic's ears.
"Perfect!" Sonic then took the moment to hop over to the new stuff Tails added to the plane, his hands gripping the handlebars of the device that allowed him to shoot missiles at oncoming attacks. "Low key wished we could test it out on Eggman and his robot goons about now.." Sonic says with a frown. "He went into hiding after we showed him what we were all made of last time though."
"Oh, he'll come out of hiding soon enough." Tails comments. "He always does." He turns slightly to the left, causing the plane to follow that direction... He wanted to fly over Central City... Just to see how it handles that type of setting over a busy area. A sudden flash on his tablet caught Tails' attention and he frowned, eyeing the screen. "...S-sonic...?" He asked quietly.
"...I see it, bud," Sonic says firmly, a sudden serious expression forming on his normally cocky and calm face... He stared ahead at the large looming tower of black smoke that came from the center of the city. "And that's not from any normal car wreck either." Sonic scowled as he tensed up a little, already itching for some action. "Fly us in closer, Tails!"
"On it!" Tails replied quickly, taking a sudden dip... The plane dives down closer to the silver buildings below... Being wary of them, Tails glances down at the streets below. "...That doesn't look good."
"Yeah, it doesn't.." Sonic shook his head as they flew closer to a large building. Once they were within a good thirty feet of it, Sonic leaped for it. Tails gritted his teeth as he watched his older brother figure take off towards the mess blow.
"Be careful Sonic!" Tails called out after him, watching Sonic spin around midair, giving him a thumbs-up as he fell towards the building's roof.
"When did I ever do thaaaaaaattttt?!" Sonic called out, his voice trailing as he spun back around to face the building, tucking his arms and legs into his center before forming into a ball, blunting the landing... He then unrolled and sped off to the edge of the building, stepping on the guard rail that was used to keep people from just falling off of the top of it, but eyeing the streets below, Sonic sped off... Since he was so fast, he was able to use the side of the building as his platform for his footing. He ran past many large windows, which belonged to offices and meeting rooms. All of them were abandoned due to the chaos in the streets below... Sonic sped closer to his destination, the street, he spundashed and landed on the street. He eyed the mess of thrown-over cars and broken fire hydrants. Giant pillars of water shot into the air before it rained back down into the streets... Broken glass littered the street as Sonic took in his surrounding... But before he could make his move, another loud explosion went off and he turned his attention to the left, turning towards the source.
"Whoa..." He mutters quietly to himself before he sped off into that direction, rounding the block before he skidded to a stop, finally seeing what caused this mess...
Halfway down the street, in front of a toy shop stood a silvery gray hedgehog. He wore an intimidating expression as he glared at the enemy. He stood between Eggman, whose robot was wedged deep within the adjacent building. The genius glared back and slammed a balled-up fist on the dash of his egg mobile, obviously upset that his robot was in ruins... Metal was crushed and it was leaking a nasty black oil... It was broken. Sonic then heard the stranger speak.
"I'm going to put a stop to this once and for all!" He pauses before lifting his hands up, his palms glowing as he reached out towards the pile of robotic mess. "To stop you from creating the worst mistake you could ever come up with!" He snapped. Sonic stood back in awe, allowing this to happen before he spotted something behind the stranger... A female civilian holding a child, both of them hiding from the danger behind this new guy... So he was on Sonic's team? Good to know.
Eggman growled under his large mustache and scowled. "I don't even know what you're talking about!" Before the gray hedgehog could do anything, he pressed a button on his dash and the pod he was in came to life, it detached itself with a hum of mechanical parts. "I just wanted to create a scene to get Sonic here... But you ruined it!" Eggman spat at the gray hedgehog, who stood his ground firmly.
Sonic then felt it was his turn to jump into the action, speeding up to get closer to the hero and villain. A huge smile plastered across his face. "Well, here I am, Eggman!" He waved as he skidded to a stop, directly in front of the gray hedgehog, who shot him a dirty glare.
"Move out of my way!" The stranger snapped, glaring at Sonic. "You'll get hurt!" Sonic rolled his eyes before he glances over his shoulder at the silvery hedgehog.
"Sorry man... But this guy is my arch enemy~" Sonic says with a wink, turning back to look up at Eggman who floated above them in his rounded flying machine. The new guy looked dumbfounded, his concentration thrown off... The glowing circles on his palms suddenly powered down and he looked mildly irritated with Sonic.
"Sonic..." Eggman sighed from above, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I don't like the fact you haven't introduced me to your new little friend here... Who I might add ruined my entire plan."
Sonic couldn't help but laugh a little, the casual conversation within the battle was always something to enjoy. "Well to be brutally honest with you, I have no idea who he is... But he's made it a clear sign to you... You're not welcomed here in the city!" Sonic then waved a finger at the doctor. "Give it another week before you decide to show your big-nosed face again!"
Eggman couldn't help but glare at the blue hedgehog. "Why you little...!" He pounded a balled-up hand onto his control panel, pointing with his other hand. "I am NOT bald! It's just fading..." He says more quietly, placing one of his gloved hands on his very bald head.
"..." Sonic's face cracks into an even bigger smile. "Dude since I first met you back at Green Hill Zone... You've always been bald... Anyways..." Sonic trails off a little before he points right back. "Get outta here before we kick your sorry butt!"
Eggman scowled before he shook a fist. "Fine then! I'll come back with an even bigger and BETTER mecha!" He flashes a giant grin. "And then Eggmanland, NO WORLD, will finally come to be! MAWHAHAHA-HACK!" He covered his mouth with his fist, coughing into his hand as both Sonic and the gray hedgehog exchanged a glance. That's when suddenly a rounded head robot poked its head out of the dash of the egg mobile.
"S-sir... Maybe give it another week before we attempt this... It's in your best interest for your health." His British accent was clear.
"Yeah! We gotta make sure the boss is healthy!" A square-headed yellow robot piped up from the other side of Eggman.
"Oh be quiet you two!" Eggman growled, silencing both robot minions before he glared down at the hedgehogs before. "I'll be back..." With that... Eggman flew off with Orbot and Cubot... Sonic gave a small sigh before turns to face the new guy to ask for his name... However, upon doing so, he noticed he had his own back turned towards Sonic.
That's when Sonic noticed it.. He was checking on the civilians behind him
"Hey... Are you two alright?" He asked the nervous woman he had been protecting this entire time.
The female hedgehog, who was a cute blonde gave a nervous smile. "Honestly... I've had better days.." She held onto the shivering child.
"Well... as long as your safe, that's better than anything else.." The gray hedgehog responded lightly.
She gave a sheepish smile. "...Y-yeah I guess you're right... Had it not been for you... We've... We've would have..."
"H-hey now.." The gray hedgehog cuts her off quickly. "Don't think about that... you're safe now..." He says gently, reassuring her gently before he places a hand on his chest. "...I'm Silver the Hedgehog by the way..." He introduces himself before the blonde hedgehog blushes faintly, setting the child raccoon down to his feet... She brushed the skirt of her dress before Sonic finally recognized her... She was that sweet waitress who worked at the 'Bean There Café a few blocks away.
"Stephanie.. Stephanie smith~" She introduces herself to her hero... Sonic kept his mouth shut, allowing the glory to go to this guy... He obviously risked a lot protecting these people... So Sonic actually starts to trusts him. He watched as Stephanie holds out a hand towards Silver to shake it.
"Pleasure to meet you.." He started gently, taking her hand before he gently shook it.
"Likewise..~" She beams before Silver lets go of her hand... With that same hand, she gently places it upon the top of the child's head and frowns. "I guess I need to go ahead and find his parents... He was all by himself in front of the shop when Eggman showed up... I just... acted and had to protect him..." The child obviously was a panicked mess, tears welling up in his eyes as he shyly glanced up at the gray hedgehog in front of him... With that said though, Silver slowly knelt down to his level and gave the child a reassuring smile.
"What's your name?" Silver asked lightly.
The raccoon turned his head quickly, whimpering a little before he hid behind Stephanie's skirt. Surprised Silver straightened up a little bit. "No need to be afraid... I'm one of the good guys..." Silver says gently. "I'm Silver."
"...I'm Billy..." The child answered, peeking out from behind the skirt, which gave Silver some reassurance that he was alright...
"Well, it's nice to meet you too... I hope you can find your parents soon... So stay with Mrs. Smith here until you find them, alright?"
Stephanie couldn't help but blush faintly as Silver rose to his normal height, which was only a couple of inches taller than she was. "It's... just Stephanie.." She corrects him gently. "Mrs. Smith is my mother's name."
Silver's eyes widened a little. "O-oh so sorry.." Silver apologizes for a little, relief washing over him... She wasn't married.
"It's okay~" Stephanie replies before she sighs gently. "I'll be heading off now.." She pauses before she suddenly remembers something, quickly reaching into her apron and pulls out a small business card. "It was really nice to meet you, Silver... Try to come to see me at the Bean There Café, okay?" She asks gently, handing him the card. "Give it to the head hostess and she'll seat you in my area and I can be your server..~" She then turns on her black heels and takes the child by the hand. "I hope to see you!" She says, looking over her shoulder at Silver who stood there in silence, gripping the business card with one hand.
"...S-see you.." Silver replied, giving a small wave goodbye..
Once she was out of sight, Sonic flashed a cocky grin before he slowly made his way over to Silver's side, chuckling a little under his breath as he eyed the card. "Heeyyy there, Lover boy~," Sonic says with a wink, startling the gray hedgehog, snapping him back into reality. "Nice work back there, by the way, ~" He then gently elbows him.
"I'm Sonic..~" He flashes a big smirk. "Sonic The Hedgehog... but you probably already heard of the name, huh?" In a famous Sonic-like fashion, he had to stroke his ego.
But before Silver could respond... the sound of a motorcycle speeding towards them cut them off... Sonic turned his head towards the direction of the sound and an even bigger grin formed. "Uh oh! Looks like we got company~" Sonic says with a chuckle, approaching the motorcycle.
Another hedgehog arrived at the scene and slowly parked the motorcycle, its tires crushing pieces of glass with no problem... He climbed off of the vehicle before he glared over at Sonic, who flashed him a cocky grin...
"Hedgehog." He growled at Sonic, who turned to face him. Sonic beamed and lifted a hand to greet the black and red hedgehog.
"Shadow~!" He chirps out happily. "You're kinda late to the party~"
"Shut up," Shadow replied, his eyes scanning the area as his red eyes glare up at the robot. "Where's the doctor?" He asks bluntly.
Sonic couldn't help but chuckle. "Oh, he left a while ago when he saw that he was outmatched~"
"Outmatched?" Shadow questioned, he sounded confused by that reply. Sonic then hums happily before he points across the way.
"Yeah! But honestly, it's not that big of a deal!" He flashes another smile. "We handled the situation pretty well!"
"We?" Shadow asked again, his eyes following along to where Sonic was pointing... Sonic pointed at Silver and Shadow wore an annoyed expression. "So both of you caused all of this damage?" He asked, turning to look back at Sonic who quickly lowered his hand, shaking his head in response.
"Oh no!" Sonic replies with a chuckle. "I just spoke to Eggman while he did all the work here... He's got some crazy powers!" Sonic says excitedly, almost as if he wanted to show Shadow his abilities, but the Ultimate Lifeform was not willing to test them out. But before Sonic could get another word in, Shadow did something unexpected... He approached the new guy quickly before grabbing ahold of his arms... He then practically threw the gray hedgehog to the ground, pinning him to the ground.
Sonic was shocked to see this unfold. "S-Shadow! What the heck are you doing!?" He blurted out as he watched his rival pull out some handcuffs and slap them onto the gray hedgehog's wrists.
"O-Ouch!" Silver growled in response, Sonic could see him tense up, assuming he was going to use his powers... but when nothing happened, he looked confused. He laid against the cement in shock.
"Don't even attempt to try it," Shadow warned him. "You'll just exhaust yourself... These handcuffs dampen your abilities by 95%." Shadow explained as he stood up, dragging Silver up to his feet.
"Why are you arresting him?" Sonic asked, completely trying to prove that this guy was not a threat.
"Y-yeah what's the big deal?" The silvery-gray hedgehog asked, clearly annoyed.
Shadow then glared at Sonic, sending shivers down the blue blur's spine. "Do I even have to explain my reason?" Shadow asked curtly as he held the gray hedgehog by the arm as he reached up and flipped on his earpiece. Sonic watched the black earbud blink blue and red, indicating it was turned back on. "He could be responsible for injuries or death," Shadow bluntly stated. Sonic rolled his eyes in response to do that.
"You're going on about that?" Sonic asked, squinting at his rival before he quickly turns towards the gray hedgehog, who looked fed up with everything. "What's your name, man? I got your back on this."
He then responds. "S-silver... Silver The Hedgehog.." He grits his teeth in pain, tugging at his hands only for Shadow's grip to tighten even more on Silver's bicep.
"Silver's innocent Shadow." Sonic quickly states, getting in the way. "He was just doing what ANY of us would do in that situation. Not to mention he managed to save two innocent lives because of what he did!" He argues. He goes to put more facts up, but Shadow cuts him off by holding his hand up, silencing the blue hero. Then with that same hand, he touched his earpiece... Sonic assumed that he was calling in back up.
"Bring me back up." He bluntly states into the air. "We also need a clean-up crew to the scene immediately." He then glances down at Silver, who had given up at the tugging and pulling. "Also bring me a prisoner containment vehicle."
Sonic's jaw drops a little, listening to this before he quickly shook his head in disapproval. He lifts a finger up to talk but Shadow cuts him off again. "I'm merely following orders from THE PRESIDENT." Shadow hissed. "We need to control our fights and situations... We've caused too many casualties and injuries in the past, so we're taking all the precautions we possibly need to take, hedgehog."
Sonic then scowled, crossing his arms. "Well, laws and rules are meant to be broken, Shadow." He snapped back, earning yet another famous glare from Shadow, who only pulled Silver closer to himself.
"Should I just arrest you too then?" Shadow asked, glaring daggers at Sonic. Then the arguing began... Silver stood between the two of them as they went back and forth...
Within ten minutes or so, Shadow got the backup he asked for... Sonic watched as G.U.N soldiers came in with equipment and roadblocks... They sectioned off the area so civilians could eventually use this street and area... But until they got the area secure, nobody was allowed within 30 feet of the crime scene tape. Sonic watched as Silver was loaded up and hauled off... Sonic glared angrily over at his rival who was busy filling out a report on a clipboard... Once Shadow was finished, he handed the clipboard off to another soldier who saluted him before running off... Shadow felt someone staring and he noticed Sonic giving him the stink eye... He then sighs sharply, having enough of this nonsense.
"I don't need you to tell me how I need to do my job." He snaps quickly, crossing his arms as he has a stare-off with Sonic. "In a matter of fact... You need to go ahead and get yourself to Westoplis in an hour." He scowls, lowering his eyelids. "Go straight to G.U.N HQ."
Sonic couldn't believe this guy. He responds by throwing his arms up into the air, dumbfounded. "E-excuse me!? That's like literally on the other side of the country, Shadow!" Sonic complained, watching Shadow stroll past him as he walked to his motorcycle... Shadow mounted the cycle before he reached up, pulling his sunglasses over his eyes.
"Then that won't be a problem for you," Shadow stated bluntly, turning his motorbike on before shooting a look at Sonic. "You're the fastest thing alive," He then revved up the bike a few times before looking back at Sonic. "Don't be late," He then ordered. "I have several questions and you're considered a key witness... If you bail... I'll have a warrant put out for your arrest."
With that said, he drove off... Sonic watched Shadow drive off in the direction after the prisoner vehicle that Silver was inside of... He couldn't believe how heartless that guy could be... But Sonic then felt himself grin a little.. He was going to prove Shadow wrong...
