Marauders In Trouble
CHAPTER 1: A BEGINNING OF SEVENTH YEAR
James Potter was sitting on the bench outside. Holding his head boy's badge. His face expressions were sad. Sirius and Remus were observing him from the bushes, from some distance.
"I can't believe it!" Sirius hissed at Remus.
"I know...just look at him!" He replied.
He rubbed his hands on the badge. Did anything matter? Did it matter if he was elected head boy? Did it matter he was going to have the biggest Quidditch scholarship that was awarded to anyone in there year?
"He is so sad!"Remus glanced at him through the bushes.
It was almost hours ago, when James had asked them to leave him alone. And they respectfully did so. But after few hours had gone by, Sirius and Remus had snuck out to see where he was. James shuffled the badge in his hands, and sighed. He pushed in his pockets and stood up. He was walking back, when he passed the bushes.
"I know you have watching me...Padfoot," James said softly.
"You too, Moony."
They scrambled out, Remus looked ashamed, Sirius grinned.
"Come on!" Sirius tapped his shoulder, and pushed his face closer to his. "What happened?"
"Nothing!" James adjusted his glasses. "Nothing's up."
"It's Lily, isn't it?" Remus asked him.
"uh...No!" He looked away
. They walked up in silence, Sirius tried to cheer him up with jokes, but James didn't even smile. Sirius went to bed, and James snuck out, he was sitting by the fire, looking at his books blankly. He wasn't reading, like he was going to. It was transfiguration. He was good at transfiguration.
"So...are you going to tell me?" Remus came out of nowhere, as James jumped at his voice. "Tell you what?"
"Oh, don't play me off, James!" Remus scoffed at him. "I know when something's up.."
"Fine..." James threw the book on the arm chair in front of him. "So..." "I don't know, Moony!" He sighed. "I don't know what is wrong with me...but I just feel..."
"Well!" Remus asked impatiently. "
I don't how to talk about feelings, Moony...For God's sake!" He stood up, exasperated. "So, let me talk about them!" Remus said calmly. "It's about Lily, isn't it?"
James didn't answer, so Remus took that as a yes, he went on. "So...why don't you talk to her?" James scoffed. "Talk to her?"
"James..." He said, "No offense, but have you noticed how much have you changed?"
"Uhm...no, I haven't!" He said almost angrily.
"Really?" It was Remus's time to scoff, "You haven't changed? I disagree. You have grown...from a stupid teenager."
"Hey!"
"Into...well!" He smiled. "You! A 18 year old, who is already providing his services to the Order, and has a scholarship. Money... a house!"
"It's my dad's money!" James reminded him. "I didn't make any of it." "And you have gone through a lot." He ignored James, "Your parents died." James was quiet. "And really, James...you haven't grown!"
He came back on that.
"James, you took Sirius in. You have many achievements. You are a animagus, For God sake!"
"But..."
"Just ask her!"
"I ca..."
"James," Sirius was standing on the steps of boys dormitory. "Just one more time! Ask her, one more time. And we'll never bug you again."
Remus nodded. "Okay?"
"Okay!" James nodded softly. "Okay."
"Yeah! Prongs!" Sirius shouted.
Remus threw a pillow on him. "It's 3 O clock in the morning, You idiot!" he hissed.
