"You want some tea?" Teddy Altman offered her ex-fiancé Owen Hunt, who was standing in their living room with a face beaming as bright as the sun.

Owen had just offered his friendship and support back to Teddy, after months of animosity and distance.

Teddy was relieved, happy and beaming with joy herself. More than anything, she missed her friend.

However, despite their amazing friendship they carried over the last two decades, they have always been more than "friends," even when they didn't admit it.

They were separated but, their relationship and pending nuptials had never been officially called off. As for Teddy, she believed she and Owen would never only be "just friends."

But, he needed time. They both did.

"Yeah, tea would be great." Owen smiled and accepted.

Teddy nodded and walked into their kitchen, wiping away her tears of sheer relief and taking a deep breath she began to prepare she and Owen's favorite nighttime tea, peppermint.

Owen followed her in, rubbed her back softly and proceeded to take a seat at the breakfast bar.

"God I missed you, Teddy. I really did."

Teddy fought back more tears and turned to look at him, the love of her life, the father of her children, her soulmate.

"I missed you too, Owen. You have no idea. There were days when I seriously thought I had lost you forever and I...I didn't know if I could go on without you..."

Owen's face turned to panic for a moment, thinking about the terrible mental state Teddy was just in a couple of weeks ago. He felt a surge of guilt, thinking about how before Teddy snapped, her mental health had been deteriorated and he did nothing to help that. He could have lost HER, forever...

"Teddy..."

"But then," she continued, "I'd talk to our kids. I'd look at our baby girl, Owen and I'd see us in her and...I'd be reminded of that beautiful child we unexpectedly made together, and the family we created with her and Leo, and...I just couldn't give up on that."

At this point Owen was fighting back tears as well.

"I know. I thought the same thing whenever I'd talk to them. And the way they love you? The way Leo talks about you and Allison points at pictures of you or something that reminds her of you, and always 'Mama' all the time? It just made me realize how much I missed you. All the time."

"Yeah." Teddy whispered, pouring Owen a hot mug of tea.

"Thanks." He smiled, taking it carefully.

"So uh...speaking of Allison..." Teddy laughed shallowly.

Owen nodded.

"I'm listening." He said kindly.

"It's really complicated and up until recently, I thought I had the whole story figured out. But it was too wrapped up in guilt, fear, trauma and pain that I couldn't bear to truly think about it, nonetheless tell anyone about it. Even you..."

"Like I said Teddy, you told me when you could. When you were ready..." Owen reiterated.

"Yes but-" Teddy started...

Owen took her hands in his.

"Teddy, I told you...you only have to tell me more about Allison if you want-"

"No I want to!" Teddy cut him off. "It's just...I just wish I would've have told you all about her sooner, maybe this all wouldn't have happened...you know...my nearly year long mental breakdown..." She laughed half heartedly.

Owen grinned sheepishly.

"Yeah, well. What's done is done and we're here now, in this moment. So, Teddy, just speak from the heart..."

It was then that Teddy broke down in tears, but not from sadness, from relief. She finally felt free enough to share any and every little detail she ever wanted to share with her bestfriend, her soulmate.

Two hours later, Owen knew everything there was to know about the passion, rage, betrayal and heartache that was all wrapped up in Teddy's history with Allison.

"Teddy," Owen began after she finished telling her whole truth and started another pot of tea for them on the stove. "I am so sorry..."

There really wasn't much more to say. He was shocked, to say the least, that Allison kept Teddy on the sidelines in ever aspect during their whole secret affair, kind of like he had with her for so long and for that, he felt immense guilt and shame. But that was irrelevant now.

At the same time, Owen's heart broke for Teddy. Just the sheer thought that she had lost someone she loved so deeply and so passionately in such a tragic way, tore him apart.

Of course Owen always knew that Allison was killed in the second tower collapse on September 11th, 2001 but, now it had a whole new meaning. A whole new level of pain and darkness.

But then, he realized something. Something he's actually always known, the main reason their daughter shares this woman's name.

"Teddy?" Owen asked.

"Yeah?" Teddy turned back to Owen and smiled sweetly.

"I know that there is a lot of pain and trauma associated with Allison's memory, more now than I could have ever imagined but, I'll always be eternally grateful to her..."

Teddy felt a little stunned. She appreciated Owen's newfound support and understanding for her history with Allison as a whole but, grateful to her? Why?

"What do you mean?" She asked, filling Owen's tea cup yet again.

Owen grinned at Teddy. He actually found it cute how she really wasn't getting what he was saying. It was romantic, in a way.

"Teddy, honey..."

Honey. He called her honey.

"What I mean is, I'm eternally grateful for Allison's existence and importance to you because, if it wasn't for Allison...we never would have met..."

Teddy once again took a seat next to Owen and stared into his sparkling ocean blue eyes.

"We never would have fallen in love..." Teddy continued.

Owen took her face in his large hands.

"We never would have made that beautiful little girl in the next room together...on the first try I might add." Owen laughed.

"We wouldn't be a...family." Teddy whispered.

Owen couldn't take it anymore. With Teddy's face already in his hands, he gently but passionately smashed his lips with hers. She didn't pull back, she didn't resist, she kissed him back even harder and passionately than ever before. She missed him so much.

Suddenly they broke apart and sprinted to the bedroom. Their bedroom.

They didn't waste any time. They tore off each others clothes. Kissing, stumbling and laughing out of pure ecstasy and pleasure that they were actually doing this after so long. So many months of pain, anger and distance that were finally starting to fade into the background.

Owen knew he had only said he wanted just a friendship with Teddy, for now, just hours ago but, was that what he truly wanted? No. He was just playing it safe and protecting himself, not to mention her and their children. He wanted to take it all slow this time, but slow can only go so far once you're madly in love.

"Owen, I love you so much." Teddy whispered between kisses and moans. He was doing everything right, as was she.

"I love you. God, Teddy. You make me feel so good. I love you so much and I am never letting you go...ever...god Teddy..."

He was getting close. They both were. After several more thrusts, cries of passion and love declarations the couple finished together for the first time since before that fateful day.

After, Teddy and Owen stayed in bed, tangled in each others arms, caressing each other lovingly and talking some more.

They decided that they would pick up where they left off, as a couple in love but also taking every step of their rekindling relationship slowly and carefully. Starting with Teddy seeing a therapist.

Hours later, as Teddy was finally drifting off to sleep, her face nestled on Owen's warm chest, she suddenly realized something very important that they may have forgot in their passionate act that evening...

"Owen...?" She asked, although Owen was already asleep.

She gently shook him awake.

"Owen?" She asked again.

"Yeah, babe. What is it? Are you okay?" He sleepily responded.

"Did you...put on a condom earlier?"

Suddenly Owen was wide awake.

"No..."

Teddy untangled herself from Owen's big arms and sat up.

"But you...you're on th-the pill, right?" Owen asked.

"I haven't been taking it during our separation..." Teddy responded as she scrolled through her period app.

"Oh my god?" Owen responded.

Teddy shook her head. She was panicking at this point.

"Oh my god is right...because according to my app...I'm at peak fertility right now." Teddy said and looked at Owen nervously.

Much to Teddy's surprise, Owen burst out laughing, pulled Teddy back down to him and kissed her deeply.

"So much for taking it slow!" He laughed.

"Wait, you're not mad? I mean, another baby is the last thing we need right now I mean...don't you think? We might regret it..." Teddy said.

"Teddy, I will never, ever regret having another child with you. If I did get you pregnant tonight, then this was all meant to be...all part of the plan. You hear me?" He said sweetly.

Teddy just nodded and cried. She secretly hoped and prayed that she and Owen created another little life together tonight. What would be more meaningful coming out of their reunion and reconciliation than another beautiful son or daughter together?

Two weeks later, they got their answer.

Teddy and Owen after another spontaneous night of love, passion and lack of birth control...were expecting their third child and second biological child together.

Looks like the tea did them some good.

The end.
