A/N: Before we get into the story, I want to explain a few things about the world. The universe is the traditional Runeterra lore world but sort of crossed over with the Battle Academia AU, so any champions that appear in that storyline will appear in their Battle Academia skins. If they have a prestige skin, they will appear in that over their standard Battle Academia skin. Summoners live amongst champions, but they can differentiate between whether or not they want to become a summoner or a champion, and then attend their respective schools. As this is a M rated story, there will be crude language, lemons, and the like. No gore or extreme themes will be included unless I think it vital to the plot.
"Han!"
Han jumped at the sudden outburst. He looked across the classroom to see his teacher, Ms. Karma, staring intensely at him. He stared back, not knowing what she was calling on him to do.
"Yes, Ms. Karma?" He asked.
She sighed. "Answer the question"
'She had asked me a question?' He thought. 'I didn't hear her say anything until she called my name.' Then again, he wasn't really paying attention anymore. He was a few hours away from graduating, and becoming a full-fledged summoner. Everything that his teachers were saying went in one ear and went out the other. "Um, what was the question?"
"I'm not repeating myself. Were you not paying attention?"
'Shit.' Of course that was her first assumption. Then again, she was right. Grades were finalized, and there were no more tests. He decided he might as well just guess, if he was wrong he would just say he misheard the question.
"Um, cleanse?"
A brief flash of shock showed on her face, before she composed herself. "Yes, that is correct."
Han cheered internally. Another bullet dodged, and a few minutes closer to graduation.
Why is he so excited to graduate?
There's a lot of reasons why. First of all, this summoner prep academy he's attending is quite rigorous. Everyday he sleeps at midnight only to wake at 6:00am for classes, training, and other activities that were supposed to make him a better summoner. If that wasn't bad enough, let's now talk about the other students here. There was one word he knew that perfectly described most students here, save for a few.
Snobby.
Being a prestigious academy, there were many that believed the name and reputation of the academy would influence how many champions they would become truly bound to during the Binding Ceremony that takes place after graduation. They spent tons of money to get themselves a place at the academy, and believed that because of that they were superior to other students like myself who had to test into the academy. It got to the point that less than 10% of the student body had tested in.
Anyways, the way the Binding Ceremony works is this. Each student graduating would stand before the Elder Council from the Institute of War. The Institute of War is where summoners like Han will go once they become summoners. There they can train, fight, or relax with other summoners and champions from all around Runeterra. Summoners can enter the League of Legends, where they compete with champions against each other to become the Runeterra League of Legends World Champion Summoner. Kinda confusing, right? Han doesn't get it right now either. He hopes they explain that at the Binding Ceremony. Moving on, once you stand up there the elders will perform a spell that identifies what champions you are Truly Bound with. To be Truly Bound or have a True Bond with champions is supposedly a huge deal. Summoners can have anywhere from zero to five Truly Bound champions. Most people don't get any at all. Some get one or two, and even fewer get three or four. Getting five is almost unheard of.
As Ms. Karma turned to ask another question, the bell rang. Han took that as his cue to grab his bag and run out the door to meet perhaps the only tolerable person here at the academy.
A certain Yeri Kim. His best friend, and also sort of his rival.
Yeri was an interesting figure. Unlike many of the girls at the academy, Yeri wasn't overly concerned with her appearance. She put on minimal makeup, dressed quite casually, and never sugarcoated her words. Standing at around 5'9", she was quite tall, and also quite curvy from years of intense training at the academy. Combined with her attitude, she was quite the imposing figure at the academy. On the other hand, Han stood at 6'0", although he liked to claim that he was 6'1" rounded. He was somewhat skinny, and not as well built as some of the other guys at the academy. He preferred to sit and listen to people talk rather than talk himself.
As Han walked out of the academy towards the dorms, he saw Yeri sitting outside at one of the tables in the study area. Grinning to himself, he quietly walked up behind her and placed his head right over her shoulder.
"Hello there, Yeri."
SMACK!
"Owwww!" cried Han. Yeri had immediately slapped him hard across the face and pinned him to the ground. Her face went red as she realized who she had just slapped.
"Han?!"
Han groaned, holding his cheek in pain. "Did you have to slap me that hard, Yeri?"
"Sorry, I thought it was one of them creepy perverts like Joseph."
Han sighed. He understood why she reacted the way she did. Yeri was always surrounded by guys that thought they had a chance with her.
"Next time at least take a look before you jump me please." Yeri opened her mouth to retort when they both heard a sleazy voice off to the side.
"Wow, bitch. You'll do it with him in public but not me? How could you!"
Both Han and Yeri turned to see one of the biggest douchebags at the academy, Joseph Lee.
Joseph was one of those people who paid big money to attend the school. He had some skill, but preferred to use his name and money to get what he wanted to instead of earning it himself. He liked to pick on people, particularly Han, viewing him as inferior for having to test into the school. He also had an obsession with Yeri, believing that he was a gift to women and that she should be glad to know someone like him.
Han and Yeri's faces went red as they realized the compromising position they were in. Her body hovered over him, her face inches from his face. She quickly jumped off of him before turning to Joseph.
"Two things. First of all, we are not 'doing it' as you say we are. Second, why the fuck would I do it with you of all people? I'd rather go solo into the Kumungu jungle than even date you."
Joseph snarled at that. "Just you wait until the Binding Ceremony when I get bound to 5 champions and win the World Champion Summoner title. You'll come crawling back to me." With that, he turned to walk away, before stopping. "As for you Han, I'll enjoy actually being able to beat your face into the dirt in the duels. Maybe then you'll learn your place, loser."
At this point Yeri was ready to attack Joseph, but before she could start running at him, she felt herself get pulled back into Han's chest.
"Let go of me, Han! Why are you stopping me from fighting him, after all he said?" She struggled to escape Han's deceptively strong embrace.
"He's not worth it, Yeri. Calm down." Han whispered into her ear.
Yeri continued to struggle before ultimately giving up and getting comfortable in Han's arms. Noticing this, Han opened his mouth to tease her, before deciding against it and asking her a question instead.
"Are you calm now?"
"If I say no, will you continue hugging me like this?"
Han blushed at that, letting her go as he turned away from her, standing awkwardly. She laughed at that, punching him in the shoulder playfully.
"Let's go get ready for tonight's ceremony, Han."
He lit up at that, smiling excitedly at her.
"I'll see you in a couple of hours, then."
