Oscar's POV

Oscar's first thoughts as he tried to help keep the ship level was. This is a terrible idea. Why did he agree to this?

Ozpin's familiar voice hummed in his head, "Hmmmmm Miss Rose seems to have gotten more eccentric in her ideas."

Oscar answered more on instinct than anything else getting an odd look from Maria, "It wasnt her... AND WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?!"

Maria questioned shocked by his sudden loud question, "Lad what are you talking about?"

Oscar waved her off as he felt Ozpin retreat slight. There was a flash of fear through their bond. He calmed the surprise and anger felt.

Through the bond he questioned, :Oz?:

The other came warmth passing through their bond. Tentatively Oscar reached out his anger and surprise dissipating.

He pleaded pained, :Wait don't leave me again, Oz.:

Ozpin couldn't leave him again. Not with everything that had happened since he left. Oscar felt so lost without the old man's guidance. The warmth pulsed again comforting him.

Oscar's hands shook as he gripped the controls tightly. Maria was giving him a worried look but her main focus was on dodging the attacks.

Oscar tried again, :Oz please. We need you.:

The ship was suddenly thrown to one side and Oscar was barely able to keep his seat. In his ear piece he could hear Ruby talking through another plan.

Ozpin questioned concern flashing through the bond, "Oscar are you okay?"

:Physically I'm fine. At least for now,: he replied.

A frown crossed his face as he watched the robot prepare to fire again. Wait that robot had to switch before firing. They could use that to their advantage.

Oscar gave his idea to the others and they made a plan around it. Fear filled him as he watched Ruby almost fail. Ozpin tried to comfort him through feelings but words werent exchanged until a blast hit the ship.

Maria was unable to see after they were hit with another blast. Panic overtook him as he never learned how to pilot any kind of airships. Atlas airships were the most complicated in the world.

"Calm. Oscar," Oscar took a shaky breath in, "It will all be okay."

Ozpin didnt quiet take control but the warmth spread throughout him. The warmth stopped his hands from shaking. Memories that werent his showed him how to safely crash land the airship.

Things continued quickly from there. The warmth never left but Ozpin kept quiet. He watched as Ruby activated her silver eyed powers.

Once they were on their way to Altas, Oscar excused himself. A brief explanation to the others about Ozpin helping was given but he didnt tell them that the wizard was still there.

When they werent being watched Oscar questioned, :Why? Why did you leave us? We needed you before the crash landing.:

"I'm sorry," apologized Ozpin in a pained voice, "I thought you all hated me for not telling you the truth. I should have told you long before the lamp incident."

:I don't hate you,: he denied immediately, :God, I could never hate you. You gave me the adventure I always wanted but didnt have the courage to seek out.:

"Why? Why dont you hate me?"

Oscar looked up to the roof of the airship. That was a question he asked himself continuously. Why didnt he hate Ozpin for lying and withholding the truth?

Maybe it was because hating Ozpin would be like hating himself. Not that he didnt hate himself. Oscar did hate himself but he had to keep going. Keep going for Ruby and Qrow. Otherwise what was the point of getting this far.

Oscar replied lowering his head allowing his unruly hair to fall into his eyes, :I cant. Why? I'm not sure honestly. Hating you would be like hating myself. But please, I beg of you dont leave us again. We need you. I need you.:

Ozpin sighed resigned, "I wont leave you again Oscar. I promise."
