Hello guys.
So, after talking with my friends Stand with Ward and Queen alongside Aragorn II Elessar over the X-Men movies I decided to write up this short fic.
While good films outside of some that are really bad like Dark Phoenix, or X-Men Apocalypse and X-Men Origins Wolverine to be nice had potential but busted apart fairly quickly. Dumb things like Adamantium bullets to explain Wolverine's memory loss brought the film down.
For X Men The Last Stand I actually fine to be while not the best film, it is over-hated in my opinion.
Anyway, back to my point one very major problem throughout all the films is Logan/Jean getting teased constantly yet zero pay off. Scott/Jean had zero focus for why we should root for them in the original pre-Days of Future Past saga with having Logan/Jean at the forefront.
From all three original X-Men films, then The Wolverine, and Logan film was going to have two deleted scenes for an endgame pairing which never happened.
It makes Logan despite everything great about his character a pathetic lovesick puppy. Especially in DOFP where the same Jean is with Scott and Logan pines from the sides in the new timeline remains.
This is so stupid. Like across other media including comics Marvel utterly refuses to let Logan/Jean be together. While current Marvel in X Men has this weird polygamy thing of Jean is married to Scott yet has a casual sex relationship with Wolverine.
Sure, I've written polygamy relationships only this feels more like throwing Logan/Jean fans a broken bone. Marvel in any media seems bent on Scott/Jean like they are for Peter/Mary Jane. One More Day is they don't want Peter/MJ married but they still want them together. Heck, they killed off Gwen Stacy years ago to do exactly that.
*Go check out my "Fixing One More Day and other messes" fanfic for more info there.
Now personally am I a Logan/Jean person I don't really know.
Speaking of the comics at least that Logan loves Jean yet has other love interests and was even going to get married to one rather than always being stuck on Jean Grey.
I just wish Marvel would fully commit to doing/Jean with no weird poly thing involving Scott, let him go be with Emma Frost or completely ditch Scott/Jean & Logan love triangle.
For the films at least this is me fixing the whole mess. On with the story.
Xavier's mansion
Finishing walking off the steps Logan turns the corner still trying to get his bearings from seeing Beat, Storm, Bobby, Kitty, Rogue, and countless others still alive. This whole mansion teeming with life and energy, mutants, everywhere is nearly overwhelming. The possibility they won is nearly overwhelming and unbelievable. Stopping Logan realizes regretfully that the previous Logan probably just had his entire life destroyed in a blink. All those years of living, all the relationships of people… sadly the Sentinel War claimed one last victim being himself.
Pushing that grim thought aside Logan looks down a hall to see a sight he has only seen in his dreams being usually nightmares besides when finally letting Jean's death go after passing out from facing Ichirō Yashida. Jean Grey is at the doorway leading into Charles's office. Jean's hair is a bright fiery red and the rest of her has this… radiance that he's missed.
Walking over Logan nears Jean who turns to look at him with affection in her eyes, but confusion given he's still in disbelief. Reaching up Logan cups the side of Jean's cheek who leans to Logan's touch.
"Logan you, okay?" Jean asks in worry.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Logan says regaining his bearings and pulling his hand back down.
Moving his vision over to see a familiar face "Good to see you Scott" Logan says.
"Yeah, I don't think he's completely alright," Scott says.
Scott walks off as Jean turns to Logan in curious concern.
"Are you sure you're fine?" Jean inquires.
"Yes," Logan replies lightly gruff.
Nodding Jean leans over giving Logan a quick kiss before making her way down the hall walking off. Logan watches with a surprised face with looking into the room seeing Charles at his desk.
"Don't you have a class to teach?" Charles asks.
"A class to teach?" Logan asks bewildered because whoever thought making him a teacher needs to have a brain scan.
"History" Charles replies.
As the conversation goes of Logan explains to Charles that he is from the original timeline, and as the two men sit Wolverine is most curious to discover about his marriage to Jean Grey.
Needless to say, Logan reassured his wife while he may be from a different timeline his love remains the same.
Hope you all enjoyed this and leave a review letting me know what you think if you want.
One more thing is DOFP is not sharing the same canon with Logan film.
While that is a good film, I personally hate how the writers/producers try to make it the same canon as DOFP making everything leading up to the X Men's happy ending in DOFP entirely pointless.
And the other idiots who hound and attack those who don't want Logan as part of DOFP canon for those exact reasons don't help my views much either.
So yeah, I wish this how DOFP had gone or get rid of the love triangle and quit making Logan be a lovesick puppy.
Until next time
